I don't really have any preference - a good game is a good game, a bad game is a bad game, and the country in which it was made is rather irrelevant. I tend to play Western ones more, though, because I mainly play on PC. The only things I hold a negative bias to are VNs and JRPGs, but there were still some nice exceptions to them, so I generally try to hold an open mind.

I'm perfectly aware of that, but being inhuman will make things even worse. People are able to commit atrocities when they are not able to feel empathy towards the people they're aiming at, and they mostly achieve that by dehumanizing targeted groups. And now imagine if people will have to deal with non-human sentient life. Something that is harder to humanize will certainly be a subject to a huge wave of xenophobia.
