XIV's crafting system is pretty deep but it's kind of wasted because recipes become standardized in terms of how much progress/quality you need, and you end up with such good stats and abilities that you just have macros that give you a guaranteed 100% HQ item from NQ materials.

PLD slows down once it gets Holy Spirit since it forces you to plop yourself down as a turret, think Black Mage. Shadowbringers will give you a trait that changes all of your spells to instant-casts while Requiescat is active though.

They've apparently done a lot of testing to ensure Raubahn EX doesn't happen again (the Hien fight in 4.56 was used partially as a stress test for their new system). They also said they learned not to put a mandatory instanced duty right at the start of the MSQ.

SMN's Aetherpact is 180s recast though.

SHB may mix this up a bit so keep that in mind.
Auto attacks from enemies don't really matter unless you are being mobbed by a ton of them, this is true for bosses too.
Defensive CDs are generally short, against trash use them liberally for big pulls until the herd has been thinned out. For bosses save them for when the boss starts casting something, these are known as tankbusters. Try to use a CD for each one.
When pulling trash just a single hit and sprinting past is sufficient, DPS and healers should be intelligent enough to not attack/heal while you gather the mobs up. While sprinting you also won't get hit much so don't worry. Obviously adjust to smaller pulls if your party is dumb, if someone peels a mob during pull just let them deal with it by running to your aoe.
This will be irrelevant soon but for the most part your tank stance and a single threat combo is all you need to keep aggro, after that you can swap to DPS and use CDs to survive. After SHB just leave the tank stance on.
Don't worry too much about your hp unless it dips way below halfway for an extended period. Damage tends to come in predictable lumps. That said some healers do get tunnel vision.
Low level tanking is absolute suffering, you'll lack the gear and abilities to do your job properly. Everyone will pull aggro off you and you'll be squishy as hell until near the cap. Everyone knows this so don't stress if you do a shit job, you're pretty badly handicapped.

I honestly don't know what they're doing with healers, it's impossible for them to reduce downtime that much with current design. Even ultimate has more than 50% of downtime and they're for sure not increasing damage to that level for casuals.

Biggest problem would be healer only mechanics, but even those are very easy in some raids.

It seems like it'll be an even mix of Shinten spam and whoring for Midares, Tsubame-gaeshi is wasted on anything that isn't Midare (or Tenka Goken if you're AoEing I suppose) and Ikishoten gives a flat 50 kenki still which is only ten less than you currently get from three-sen Hagakure. Yet lower GCD, not needing to worry about TP, and Yukikaze giving 15 kenki now will translate to more kenki generated overall.

If solo healing raid tiers while they're still relevant actually becomes popular I feel like it'll be the only thing that will make the devs seriously take a look at what they're doing with healers. But I'm guessing there will be fights with healer-targeted mechanics and if you don't bring both healers it targets a random DPS which makes it impossible to react to in time.

If you've already made it this far, there isn't much to tell you outside of how a relevant endgame is structured. Look up guides for gearing up at 70 from patches 4.0-4.1, the system at 80 when 5.0 drops will likely be very similar.

I'm thinking this was their idea behind the dance partner mechanic and the reworked AST cards. Single target buffs favor the big dick DPS Jobs, whereas right now, every synergy damage buff but Dragon Sight is either AOE or a debuff on the enemy (so effectively AOE too).

The safest bet in dungeons is always the tank. Ranged dps have a habit of standing at maximum range and other melee are usually dead.

As a healer, how should I be dealing with big pulls from the tank- Focus mostly on healing while sprinkling in a damage spell whenever it feels safe? Last two aurum vale runs I did to get my AST to lvl 50 were really hectic every time they pulled two or more groups together, and I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or if there's something I could be doing better to keep others not constantly teetering on the edge between life and death.

This is why it was hectic. Priority is always that nobody die. When you're in level capped dungeons shields/regens/oGCDs can cover most if not all of the dungeon and you can pew pew the whole time.

in aurum vale just focus on healing. The dungeon is retarded and you end up fighting way too much trash at one time if the group isn't incredibly slow. Damage is something you do when you see you have nothing to do since there's no point healing a tank when he's at 90% health.

For dungs, AST feels better in diurnal to me, put aspectedbenefic on the tank or something and use essential dignity whenever it gets low. Also AV sucks and you dont have gravity

Aurum Vale is just aids because everything hits hard and your gear is synced. You'll have to heal a lot there.
Once you do level 50 dungeons you'll be able to let your tank live off regens and ogcds then go to town with gravity once you unlock that.
Never, ever use Nocturnal Sect, except as a last resort.

It depends on the tank, honestly. Ideally, the tank knows how to rotate their cooldowns and you can just stack your regen effects and go to town with Gravity.
In practice, DF Tanks are absolute shitters and you'll have time spam Benefic to keep them alive. Don't worry, though, that's not in you.
Also, mass pulling in Aurum Vale (or any other pre-50 dungeon) is supremely retarded and if you managed to keep everyone alive, you did a good job.

The only person at fault was you, there was never any point for a healer to leave cleric stance while doing non-levelling dungeon content.

For Scholars there was literally no reason to ever leave the cleric stance until the expert roulette because your fairy could easily keep a non-retard tank alive.

SAM is not so great because kenki is a big part of what makes the job fun to use and that isn't unlocked until 52.
