I did, and it was wonderful. Just like the climactic Banjo v. Steve battle upon us, the Grinchleak was a wonderful time. These crossovers that you would've never seen were a reality. Grinch was actually meme'd in 2018. Was it a marketing tactic on behalf of Illumination? Sure, but Yea Forums kept it within the confines of Smash. I'll never hate that I believed it and will smile that it happened

The worst part of the grinch leak wasn't that it was fake, I could handle that. It was sad but a possibility. It was that, due to it's existence, people were able to defend the last direct with "you shouldn't have had your expectations so high!!!"

The last direct was underwhelming as fuck. They announced the end of trophies, a lot of features ended up not being ready at launch, they wasted time on the fuckin menus, and the last characters were a clone, a Pokemon literally no one but barafags like, and a fuckin plant that was just there for "muh shock" (and the plant wasn't even base game but dlc). It was underwhelming as hell and a complete crash and burn from the K. Rool and Simon direct.

That was the worst part of the grinch leak, anyone who said the last direct was shit was told they shouldn't have expected better.

Wanted very dearly to believe, but I was far too scared of having my heart crushed, tons of coincidences and correlations, but none of them were solid proof, just things that lined up a little too well.

A friend of mine really wanted Geno in, so at the very least I'd feel happy for him. And honestly, I thought Shadow was a shoe-in once echo fighters became a thing.

But the final verdict before the actual direct drops comes from the VR plant leaker that seems to be in very close touch with PapaGenos. Nothing has been spoiled firmly unless it's from that guy.

I learned from this. It was in fact the only leak I was invested in since 2007, because I was biased due to the characters being showcased on top of the seemingly accidental nature of it all. A great lesson, and more importantly, incredibly fun times. Seeing Yea Forums being still mostly composed of people who had somewhat good taste in videogames being united against zoomers, attention whore leakers and incelroars furries was nice.
