What actual idiot believes that even if FETH were to get a rep, that it would be Edelgard? Sakurai always picks protagonists. It would be Byleth.

Because Byleth is a blue haired generic Lord that uses a sword. I think even Sakurai would realize that adding yet ANOTHER one of those is retarded. Not even getting into everything else you said which is just wishful thinking because the fact is that while she can use an axe the sword is her main weapon so there's no way she would be an axe wielder even if she were in. I would expect them to decide "You know what? Let's give Fates another rep" and add Camilla before they were to add Edelgard.
