Fallout 4. The game that finally killed videogames for me and made me a doomer
Spore
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
MGSV
KH3 or ME3
KH3
This. Second most disappointing was Vampyr.
That game looked to be the next Dishonored, turned out to be a linear hack-and-slash with a horror aesthetic.

Sex
FF8... No, wait, FF13... No, no, I mean FF15. Yeah, definitely FF15.
So you're, what, 20 years old?
Phantom Pain and Final Fantasy XV
Friends GF hyped up bendy and the ink machine something fierce, so I gave it a go. Game had a lot of potential, but man the story was such a let down. That's about the biggest one I can remember in recent memory.
Almost 23
nights journey of dreams
knew it wouldn't be as good as the original but I was hoping for something fun at least. the main stages were changed to a far worse system, the story is just a beat-for-beat rehash of the original, and dear fucking lord the padding.
You held onto your optimism for a long time. I'm envious desu
Sonic Forces
Operation Raccoon City
I have never returned a game the next day before or since.
If you didn't know FO4 was going to be shit before it released, then that is on you bruv.
What killed it for you?
What made it worse was that the good parts of the game were so fucking good, but the bad parts were more numerous and incredibly fucking bad. I want to see more of delta team but I imagine they got retconned. I might have to turn them into pregen characters for a shadowrun rpg session or something. I refuse to let such neat characters go
I actually enjoyed this game. It was buggier than fallout 76, but it had SOUL, unlike pic related, which is my choice for MDOAT
Install the horizon mod, play survival mode, and try it again. That mod saved the game for me.
Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi
Star Ocean 5
dead rising 2
Vanilla Destiny 2
This will always be the game that derailed the hype train forever. I don't know what I expected. Going from a single cell to a galactic civilization! Such a mindblowing concept and then it ended up being so lame. The tools they gave you to create stuff were fun I guess.
sword of the stars 2
elemental: war of magic
mgs 5
Skyrim or mgs5
this implies you enjoyed destiny 1 in which case you are obviously brain damaged
hellgate london
Bravely Second. Not sure what I was expected after loving Default, but Second was awful.
Arkham Origins. Fuck that game and fuck Rocksteady for mentioning it in Knight.
knight is worse than origins
KH3
Knight is literally the worst out of all of them
Divinity Original Sin
The Simpsons Game. literally cried over how badly i threw away $50.
SFV
GW2
Not that user but I never played d1 and y1 destiny 2 especially when Osiris dropped was fucking horrendous.
>killed videogames for me and made me a doomer
This unironically but with Bioshock Infinite.
Agony
Rainbow Six Siege
I'm fine with the game not really having similar gameplay to the previous R6 games, or even not having a campaign. The truth is I enjoyed the game when it came out, I had a lot of fun with it, but Starting with OP Health the game just took a steep drop in quality. I ninstalled for about 6 months at the start of Y3, started playing gain, but oncethey revealed the roadmap for 4 I just decided to call it quits for good, and after seeing the latest update I feel like I made the right decision.
FF XIV ARR.
Sonic games have been shit for decades.
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword. I was a huge Zelda fanboy and it was the reason I bought a Wii. The controls werent a problem for me but it really didnt add much, the artstyle was weird and made the game look like a blurry mess. I started to hate the game when I had to revive that stupid robot, so much backtracking and fetch quests.
I usually can avoid stinkers. That being said
>Fallout 3
>Pokemon X
The most disappointing will always be Guild Wars 2 though.
>hyped for years
>buy on release
>couldn't bother to play to even level 20
Soulless game with no feeling of progression or adventure. I heard there's cool jumping puzzles though in the endgame.
How so? I keep wanting to try this out but have been hesitant.
Syberia
Best pointn't'click my ass
>being brainlet
Octopath Traveler.
Destiny 2
Paper Mario Sticker Star
I haven't played that many games in my lifetime, but this game was such a letdown.
CSGO
Dark Void still hurts after all these years, such a fun concept ruined
Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite and it's not even close.
Skyrim
after hyping it up and buying it @ midnight release
final fantasy vii holy shit theres is a must but i feel it borinh shit, bad graphic game
>he had faith in FO4
yikes, did you play Skyrim ? you should of saw this coming a mile away.
MGS4
>get psx emulator because wanted to replay FFT
>try MGS as well
>holy shit its so much fun
>get HD collection ps3
>have a blast with 2 & 3
>decide to play 4 before PW
>my love for MGS was ruined
I'm genuinely curious user, what makes you call this soulless?
I've been playing this recently and might be enjoying the first playthrough more than any Zelda since OoT or Link's Awakening. Literally excited to just boot it up and wonder around for like 2hrs exploran.
The story kinda sucks, but that's so NOT the point I don't really care.
I specifically remember the threads on Yea Forums during the skyrim hype prior to release. So many hopeful shitters viciously defending the hype from DarkSouls fags since it was coming out the same year.
State of emergency
:Rock star:
Front Mission Evolved. Haven't touched that horrible TPS because I knew it was going to be shit.
MGS4 has the best gameplay out of the series and it's over-the-shoulder camera doesn't break the fucking game like it does in MGS3 Subsistence.
Asscreed 3
Aliens Colonial Marines
FE fates. the hype was massive. the gooks and weebs who could read japanese tried to warn me too but i wouldn't listen.
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Looked like a nice Earthbound-esque game, with a diablo style battle system, and multiple classes.
But it was poorly written and poorly balanced. None of the EB charm. Nearly unplayable, mechanically. Can't believe they put this game on shelves.
What? Why? It's really one of the best quests out there.
RDR2
Pokemon XY
Sonic and the Secret Rings. Not even most disappointing game, I genuinely think it's the worst game I've ever played.
>Watch Dogs
>Crackdown 3
Mass Effect 2.
You heard me.
RE6
I couldn't even finish the intro
Mercenaries 2
Botw
division 2
rage 2
Mass Effect 3
As a longtime series fan I was fucking devastated.
Moreso because it actually seemed to be true to FF roots with all those classic monsters, themes and old FF spirit overall. Type-0 being actually good also made me sure they'll pull out a masterpiece.
I don't know what made me watch someone's stream of it before release, but that shit made me cancel my limited edition preorder and I went to buy ordinary version in nearby store later. Wisest fucking choice.
Lying faggot. There's not a single person that didn't like Mass Effect 2 at release
i don't think i've ever been disappointed by a game. i've played plenty of shit games but i always knew they were going to be shit already.
Escapists 2. Glad I bought it on sale, was not even slightly fun.
I actually enjoyed Watch Dogs a lot. I pirated it, walked into it with low expectations and honestly enjoyed it. A GTA clone with an edgy h4x0r trenchcoat dude, I wish his backstory was a little better but the voice acting was at least good enough to really sell it.
>hacking traffic lights and barriers during chases
>ducking cops
>that online game mode where the person youre against is playing on a smartphone map and controls the police, trying to stop the PC player from getting from A to B.
Destiny
populous
Sonic Forces. The levels were so short, a lot of them ended when I thought it was just starting, I expected a neat storyline with the baddies teaming together and mostly looked forward to Chaos returning only for him and the rest of them to do close to absolutely nothing, Infinite was a cool character in concept but fell victim to bad writing, and the main campaign was so short I've seen movies longer than it. I expected at least a whole night's worth of playing, and it was still evening without the sun fully down when I beat the game and I just sat there baffled for a good 15 seconds after the game credits rolled. A single character campaign in Sonic Adventure was longer than this, what the fuck went wrong?
Breath of the Wild
A Link to the Past. Even Zelda II is more impressive.
Remember me
Starcraft 2
It was a decent game, no doubt, I just bought into the hype. It was the last game I ever pre-ordered, I learned the hard way.
For what it's worth the cat and mouse online mode was incredibly fun.
This or Digimon World 4
Ace Combat Assault Horizon. Took a huge shit on the franchise.
Thankfully Ace Combat 7, while not perfect, is a welcome return to form.
Stardew Valley. Soulless, unnecessary combat bullshit, days go by too fast, sound effects are grating.
I thought it was pretty alright. What version?
Undertale. People kept hyping it up as some unbelievable artistic masterpiece, and it turned out to be a generic JRPG but with the comedic ability of your average 6th grader who just found out about anime.
Can't believe that I allowed /v to shill me this pseudo-oldschool and totally non-charismatic barebones shit.
forgot pic
Deus Ex: Invisible War
BOTW
exactly this but unironically
No words can describe how fucking boring it is
I can't really think of anything really disappointing that's fresh in my mind so I'll guess I'll say Pokemon X as well
Maybe because I had just played a shitton of Alpha Sapphire before but I was just really burned out while I played it, and it was even easier than ORAS to me, mindnumbingly so. Say what you will about gen 7 but at least they upped the difficulty
Wolfenstein II the new colossus
I thought all that stupid shit in the trailers was just prank. Nazis looked too scifi and not 1960s enough. There weren't any opportunistic Americans as low level enemy grunts. BJ is the only person in the whole resistance with any testosterone in his body so he is the only person that has to do anything. In-game collectible cards just have pictures of the developers. 3.5 hours of cutscenes. Most of the missions took place in steel corridors instead of concrete ones making them look more like Fallout 4 or Doom than some Nazi base. No boss fight and the nazi granny wasn't even an interesting antagonist.
What the heck guys? Wolfenstein the New order was so much better.
The first and last time I bought the special edition for a game.
I still played it for far longer than I should have, but that was just because I had a few friends in the game that I liked, and felt responsible for running the guild I was an officer in.
Aside from meeting said friends, it was one of the biggest wastes of my life.
It's worth at least playing through for all 8 class stories.
Sticker Star. Nothing could possibly disappoint me more than that abomination.
legit thought it would be the best game ever....and then it came out and I played it
Either KOTOR 2 or Fallout NV
Both times I expected a great game and got fucked over by Obsidian. Now I unironically want all Obsidian cock riders to die horrible deaths.
Suckiro
Star Fox Zero, looked to be 64 2 but basically killed everything fun about 64. Had more fun with Guard.
Guild Wars 2
As a huge Guild Wars 1 fan, it absolutely destroyed my ability to ever get hyped for games in the future.
It shouldn't have been called Guild Wars, and after all of the wait and the build up all of the mechanics were a downgrade and PvP was ruined.
GTA V
bait
Dark Souls 2
KH3. Not the worst, but definitely the most disappointing.
Once they changed it so that you could max out characters on just the class stories, yeah, it was pretty nice. But before they did that, and you had to endure all the trash quests on every single character, it was an absolute chore.
I hated it. What now, fag?
Fable 3. I didn't buy another game for almost 2 years
Bloodborne
So mod it, dingus.
STARCRAFT II ANYONE WHO DISAGREES IS A FAGGOT
This. Not based off my own hype, but after seeing all the work put in detail and none into making it play well. It could have been so good if Rockstar's game design wasn't ancient.
I like it.
no, you didn't
saints row 3
Not even remotely. Kill yourself in the most painful way possible, you shit eating faggot
Shut up cunt
Oh yeah? Prove I didn't.
Have sex
This is the game that killed my enthusiasm for new releases for good. I can't hear upcoming game news without shrugging and saying "We'll see how it turns out." What a fucking disaster
>obsidicuck is a tranny
Like pottery
Pokémon Y. I was lucky enough to not have money for Spore and I gave up on Bethesda after Skyrim.
kh3
for honor
r6siege
fuck ubisoft
Any fifa after 1994.
Breath of the Wild. Really hoped that seeing my favorite series go open world would convince me that the genre has something worthwhile to say. It's not my most hated game by any means but man, do I prefer how Zelda was before. I don't think it's unsalvageable but I'm not optimistic.
FE Fates
Fuck, Pokemon X&Y killed my interest in the series. If I ever feel like I need a dose of Pokemon I just replay B&W2, series might as well have ended there.
Are you retarded? Zelda has been open world for 20 years.
if you mod it right it become by far the best fallout game, unironically
how the fuck has no one said diablo 3?
TW3.
more like 30
fable 3
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
my 3 worst:
dragon age inquisition
paper mario sticker
elder scrolls online
Claire: Director's Cut.
It makes Fallout 76/Anthem look like masterpieces.
Also, the fact Claire was compared to the epicness of Silent Hill 2 - GTFO! Whoever wrote that article should neck themselves.
Ah Diddums, hands down
Only in a very loose sense, and I meant it more in a modern context. Coincidentally I do like Zelda 1 but not only did I think its exploration elements were less of a waste of time but I had more fun with the things you discovered as well. BotW's charm really doesn't work unless you're starstruck by the horizon the whole time and for me the charm wore off almost completely by the 20 hour mark.
That sim settlements mods does wonders for making it vastly more fun. Just wish there was a good working monster mod.
The witcher 3
I've thought about buying that a few times but I've been wary of 2D Silent Hill-likes ever since slogging through Lone Survivor.
Man... that was really disappointing to me.
I was mega hyped and I got the collector's edition (none of my friends could afford it, lulz). Anyways besides those two points, I played past Act 1.. and thought, jeez this is REALLY boring. Dropped it afterwards. My friends all played for about another 2 weeks and left it to die, too.
Spec Ops: The Line. I'm not even mad, just dissapointed
have you tried war of the commonwealth? if you tone it right its pretty good
there's also a mod that immersively add enemies on the map and unique creatures is pretty good too
Dude, NEVER... and i mean never buy 2D horror games like Claire. I would never wish Claire D.C on anyone...!
Oh fuck, now that you mention Lone Survivor, I have to complete that, too. But you saying it's a slog is putting me off it now, lol. It's been in my backlog for quite some time now, too.
Also, another game that is 2D shit like Claire? The Coma: Recut. The only thing good about The Coma is the art-style. Everything else is garbage.
I think MGSV and FF15 are on a lot of peoples' lists.
Never before have I personally been so hyped for two games with some seriously amazing potential, only to be let down by totally unfinished products.
I like to believe that in another timeline, these games were given adequate time and resources to be completed, and everything went right in development, and these games were actually as good as they were supposed to be.
Yes, it causes crashes. Unless they've fixed it since last I tried it.
i had issues with the last version but the previous one worked fine and ive >200mods
I don't understand all you niggers saying MGSV. I love the MGS games and enjoyed V a lot. What exactly were you expecting?
Aero The Acro-Bat (1993)
Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space
Claire (aka Claire: Extended Cut)
Dear Esther: Landmkark Edition
Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
Empire: Total War
Escape Dead Island
Frisky Business
Hunted: The Demon's Forge
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Penny Arcade Adventures
Randal's Monday
Rome 2: Total War
Shadwen
The Coma: Recut
Is Escapists 1 the same?
Plague Tale was the latest one
I felt these ones..
As for me it is Bulletstorm or Madworld for wii, I remember I was gonna pick a game and I was really looking for something just fun and not too complex. A friend and the guy at the store both told me how awesome and fun they both are with awesome kills and stuff. Both games suffer from the same terrible constant "sense of humor." literally saying stuff like YEAH MAN UR MOMS PUSSY LOOKS LIKE THAT GUYS FACE LOL FUCK YOU! Madworld was actually okay in a certain light but I felt weird about it.
Bulletstorm holy shit dude, you're supposed to do like a fatality or some custom kill crap? Yet the mechanic basically is you zap a guy then he floats in mid air in front of you in a ragdoll state while you shoot him with your other guns. IT WAS SO FUCKING SHITTY, I returned it.
>seriously amazing potential, only to be let down by totally unfinished products
Wind Waker would be my most disappointing game of all time if I was hyped for it to begin with. In a way, I still think it's a disappointment because it really should've been so much more.
What's bad about it?
>Endless replayability against other people
>No leader board or ladder
>Community dying at best
This seems like such a fun game to play against other people.
Mafia 2, since no one else has said it.
Plague Tale looks like it could scratch a casual itch at a $20 price point.
>bro what if we made final fantasy 12 but made the voice acting shittier and made the combat even fucking slower
Kingdom hearts 3, no contest, final answer
I generally like video games and have very low standards
Not that user but for me it just was missing the charm of the original. No good player usemapsetting community, the art style really wasn't much but the modern generic blizzard blocky crap, but the voices.. WHAT HAPPENED TO MUH VOICES, FOR AIUR? SET THE COURSE, NEVER KNOW WHAT HIT EM, YEEK YEEK YEEEK?
I actually agree. The saving system was weird as hell. Didn't care for the MC and shooting felt stiff.
Never bothered with the DLC(s).
KH3.
I went into that shit thinking that it'd be KH2FM all over again. Instead, what I got was a game that was arguably below KHBBS in overall quality.
I literally went back to playing BBS after being done with KH3 and it felt like sipping a cup of cold water after staying out in the hot sun all day.
Arcania "gothic" tale
Wooo... the Protoss all sounded awful, and the Terran Ghost? Tryhard, lol.
niggers
Yes I'm still mad.
Damn son...
I hear a lot of old-school Gothic fans hate it.
I tried it a bit (never played the older ones), it seems decent? Definitely some Euro Jank to it?
KH3 I think but I'm not completely convince I was just burnt out from marathoning the whole series beforehand. If not that then I'd say SFV, even I still play and enjoy it. I've been bummed out for the past three years at how they botched the release.
Fable
I was really let down by dark souls, after playing demons souls for 300 hours.
i'm still ass pained about that one and bloodborne exploding in popularity
>the absolute state of my grammar
>8th post
i am disappointed
PuBG
It ran like trash on my [email protected] and my R9 380
Awwww, yeah!
THIS. The Soul vs Soulless meme is a perfect fit for this.
WWE 2K18 for PC.
It couldn't be bothered to fucking work.
Dangerous Driving
it was so fucking bad, the AI is a complete joke
>being disappointed by a Dead Island
>being disappointed by fucking ME: Andromeda
You should have known what you were getting into. Those games never looked good.
Voice acting is a legit complain, so play Zerg.
Art style is fine and online communities can go fuck themselves right away.
The game is also fucking free.
ME3
I mean not really, there were so many different maps that are still being played nowadays on occasion. That cannot go fuck itself.
SC 2 did not come out free.
I enjoyed it up until the 2nd half after anor lando. You could literally feel the quality tank so hard.
I honestly can't think of one at the...wait I just remembered something mid sentence.
FUCKING FABLE 2, THAT GAME FUCKED ME UP SO BAD AS A TEENAGER. I REMEMBER NOW. I STOPPED GETTING PRE ORDERS, I STOPPED GETTING HYPED, I STOPPED GETTING EXCITED FOR ANY FUCKING GAMES AFTER THAT.
I'M A 30 YEAR OLD MAN NOW AND FABLE 2 STILL FUCKING TRIGGERS ME. ACTUALLY I CAME TO Yea Forums MAYBE AROUND THE TIME AFTER FABLE 2.
FUCK YOU PETER, YOU KILLED MY CHILDHOOD.
Last 15 minutes of ME3.
SFV
I assumed you've been emphasizing on the community part. Like the lack of circlejerking discord group. Lack of good maps is a different complain. And it's sort of not how things are: it's been almost 10 years, a lot of maps were made.
>wait i just remembered something mid sentence
>reddit spacing
Imagine being such a fucking retard you fell for the reddit spacing meme. Been here since 2007. Meme was created to find retarded kids.
but subspace emissary was great, and as a game with friends was still fun
FF10, killed the series for me, I had played and completed every single one until that point. Now I haven't touched any after it.
>meme was created to
Post a wojak, pepe, cringe, seething and have sex instead to better label you.
this
It not bait at all, 10 is when things really went to shit with the series, there had been disappointments in the past, like 8, but the dumb as fuck sports ball crap shoe horned into all parts of the game, plus absolutely terrible costume design on every single character really killed it for me.
Not him, but I totally agree. Others were like a fairy tale with some colorful party. That one was more of isekai trip with a bunch of bland retards.
Pokemon Sapphire
After the glory that was gen 2, little ten year old me got it on release. It was so bad. Even child me knew it was a boring, dull, slow, slog of an experience.
OR you can just fuck off back to /reddit/ and stay there this time.
>le merely pretending
Not him but you really are a moron if you fell for the reddit spacing shit. Having a space between different clauses means you are from reddit? You seem to know quite a bit about reddit. Me I have yet to make an account at the shithole. If anything, if you look at post made in 2005 everyone posted like that on Yea Forums.
destiny 1 and halo reach.
the moment that the devs get too full of themselves
and come to the conclusion that they can sell anything with their name on it.I hate their fanboy
enablers even more .its not like 343 is any better though.
Having a space between every sentence.
Is what makes you a redditspacing.
Fag.
I Am Alive
That shit was supposed to be good. Some days I find myself wondering why it was never released. Then I remember that it was.
REDDIT SPACING LOL XD
FFVII is the best game ever made and the best game it is possible to make. You are the disappointment.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
>taking such obvious bait
Bloodborne
Spore
dead or alive volleyboll
Bomberman Act: Zero - Xbox 360
superman 64
most of the harvestmoon games
some russian(?) made pay to win PC zombie game
The Urbz - (PS2 Sims game)
yoshis new island
kingdom hearts 3
Evolve
Earthlock is so far the only game I have ever dropped
def a big poison pill that game.
people very such bloomers after fallout 3. but all that waiting for fallout 4 and then it turned out to be so bad...
it really generated many legacykillaHD viewers
MGSV
It's just another generic open world with pointless shit to do. The story goes nowhere, and just ends abruptly without any satisfaction.
Fuck Kojimbo and fuck Konami.
i cant choose between sonic heroes and final fantasy 12
2 of my most anticipated games ever because i loved the previous ones so much
crushing disappointment both times when the gameplay was absolutely alien compared to SA2 and FF10
i probably should have known that would happen but i was like 12. i've never been excited for games the same way since then either....
Brink
it was also the last time I ever traded games in.
Brink
>Type-0 beeing actually good
holy shit. inquisition must be one of the worst games ever shat out into existence...
Spec Ops The Line
heh good one
Buggy unfinished mess with repetitive and almost non existent Gameplay. The only thing remarcable about this game is its setting and art, but even that is held back when you can barely play the game.
Monster Hunter: World
Combat felt off.
I envy you niggers! You played some good ass games, I wish I hadn't seen what a really REALLY gargantuan disappointment is
except this guy,
he has seen some shit and his soul was crushed
