While I do like Smash I agree with your sentiment. Banjo and Kazooie mean quite a bit to me, and seeing the Smash shitposting is annoying, and it'll dominate any discussion that happens if something Banjo related comes to pass, Smash related or not.

Movement in Spyro is more fun, but Banjo nails the sense of exploration and I think has the better set pieces. Definitely holds up for me, but i've been playing it since I was 6.

It's like Mario 64, but better. Take away Mario's walljump dive then replace it with 15 other moves. I guess Banjo does move a lot slower though.

I'm definitely biased but I think Banjo is much better. It is a very good collectathon with good-sized levels and varied objectives/gameplay and a fun cast of characters
at the very least worth one playthrough

if you can limit yourself to only transforming into the alligator once and not needing to go back for Vile round 2 you can shave off a lot of time

What is your honest opinion on Nuts & Bolts?

Because the sense of humor, music, and overworld were well done, and the vehicle customization was wacky, well balanced, and definitely let you get creative and break shit but hooooooly shit does the mission and level design not support or push your creativity enough, and they're too samey most of the time.

I hate Nuts & Bolts for a lot of reasons, many of which I'm sure you've heard before, but the reason I hate it the most is because disabling Grunty's vehicles in the final battle to leave her helpless and immobile gave me the most raging boner of my entire life at that point in time.

nice. i did this a few summers ago and felt like i wasted my life. but looking back it was fun to have to remember the gobi's valley and mad monster mansion puzzles beforehand. lotta fun tricks for speedrunning that game too, like the water dive.

The building is cool at first, until you realize that 90% of the parts are useless or become redundant as you progress, it quickly devolves into slapping wings/wheels onto jets as the situation fits.

The Jiggoseum is where I think the game shines best, as most of the challenges are centered around designing vehicles to complete fun challenges such as making a vehicle that can glide without engine power or a vehicle to knock over as many dominoes as you can in one go. If the game was more like this than being just races and time trials most of the time, It would have been a much better game.

Over the past several days several different companies have been actively teasing something banjo related. Then a company known for licensing had banjo's name separated from the rare license similar to Battletoad and Sea of thieves, two rare properties that are getting a new game or are modern. Then a figure company actively searched for a tweet about banjo being at E3 and soft confirmed it.

following this a leaker known as Shinbo who is credible and has gotten several things right before. Teased banjo coming to smash. He's gotten other smash info right before teasing a direct the day it came out and never doing it for any other direct like some claim.

Which is why I think they'll be at the invitational

New merch has been announced while E3 is right around the corner, with no known "excuse" (i.e. anniversary) for it. One of the companies has made some merch coinciding with a new game (Sonic Mania, N-Sane Trilogy, etc.). With this in mind, there's speculation that Banjo is going to show up at E3, likely a new game/remake.

No I don't actually. I loved the games and still do, but I played them so much as a kid there's nothing left for me in them. I loved the adventure and the worlds the game took you to, but replaying it when I did a couple times was more Point A to Point B than exploring. It's too dull when you know where everything is from memory.
