Those. Very comfortable.
m40x
Sennheiser game one
Great headset but my left speaker isn't producing sound anymore gonna clean the connections
exactly those dt770
i'd say they are better for music/mixing than games, but would rec anyways
The HD650. Based as fuck headphones. I don’t know how to clean them though.

m50x here, really liked them

this is my curse

A pair of Sony MDR-V6's I've had since 2011. I replaced the pleather pads with velour ones in 2014.
>tfw going from a m30x to a DT770
feels like someone is clamping my head but still more comfy than the m30x
i guess in time they will break in
>my left speaker isn't producing sound anymore
This is because of the cable. It is intentionally done that way on all integrated-cable headphones. They use very thin copper that is designed to break after 6 months so you buy a new headset.
I use headphones with removable cables and I have literally never had a cable break. Not once.
Game one cable is removable though
You posted them. Most comfortable I've used yet and that is my main priority as most headphones give me headaches.
I have these too. Not quite as comfortable as the 770 Pro. Also, when I connect it to my Schiit Magni, I get some weird echo type noise as if I'm in the back of a concert hall trying to listen to a radio on stage. Ended up getting the 770 Pro because of this problem. Just wish I could sell these at a decent price since I barely used them...

Make sure to affix your $500 satchets of signal-clarifying audiophile rocks before you do the test
Switch between these, MSR7 and HD598.
dont forget to suspend the cables and never let them touch the floor because of extra noise from vibrations
Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem and a quick hearing frequency sensitivity test can tell you that uncompressed audio at absurd sampling frequencies is bullshit, but it's pretty damn easy to tell one pair of headphones apart from another. Frequency response is one of the only things in audio that isn't bullshit.
I steal them from roommate whenever I need them
they all sound the same
>scared.jpg
>sharing headphones
Do you share toothbrushes too fag?
You posted them.
I forgot which one but I used to use the twirly cord ones but they seemed to be more prone to failures. The straight cord has lasted me quite a while.
twirly cord has better audio though.
they took a bit to get used to because they're heavy and warm but now I can sleep with them on.
the DT770s are the first pair of headphones I've owned that I can comfortably wear all day. they're fucking great.
SHP9500. Good quality for a good price
>HD660S
Make fun of me please
just ordered some of these and they will come in tomorrow
back to /hpg/ with you thinskin
Shut up and buy Stax
Usually mine. I don’t like borrowing headphones.
Can y'all recommend me good gaming headsets please? Price range of 75$ USD or less.
I used to always break headphones so i've never bothered buying expensive ones.
Sennheiser 598 i throw them around like shit and I've had them for 4 years now and my only problem was replacing cables. the sony one i had before cracked and broke off by the plastic hinges after 6 months
just go all out and buy a 200$ one and never have to worry about it breaking in a year 75$ headphones have terrible build quality
ath m20x + whatever mic
don't get gaming headsets
Been using my ATH-M50x for the last 5 years now.
These and get a separate mic later if you really need one.
I use earbuds too. The ones I got with my Samsung phone. Surprisingly they work better than most headsets I've had in the past and they're a lot more comfortable.
very comfortable
Those ones actually but with the coiled cable.
They're super nice but I wouldn't mind an upgrade. What are some higher tier headphones?
Takstar Pro 82
It's some obscure chinese over-ear headphone, they're super fucking comfy, I can wear them for like 3 hours and still feel fine.
Based
Ones in your pic 80ohm version with FiiOe10k DAC
These but I think I m over them. The leather is getting harder and becoming uncomfortable. Which brand should I go for next?
Very good poorfag headphones, I've had mine for 4 years now without issue
these hyperx cloud headphones i've had since 2014. still going strong aside from a bit of leather flaking but the actual headphones and the mic still work like they're new. don't see the need for a replacement till these literally die which won't be anytime soon by the looks of it.
DT 990 Pro 250 OHM with headphone amplifier, the sound is quite good for this price and they are comfy even with glasses.
Just replace the earpads you dingus, or upgrade to a HD580X Jubilee for 150USD.
Sony 1AM2's, easily the best headphones I've owned. Especially since I only paid $200.
You could always just replace the pads if that's your only complaint. They're probably like 20 bucks.
based cloudbro. These things are fucking magic or something I swear
the ak-47 of headphones. easy to replace parts and disassemble
amazon.com
Love these things. Best headphones I ever owned. They even have a wire frame so even my giant ass fucking head doesn't break the top of them like other sets I've had.
Only complaint is that my ears hurt after a couple of hours so i need to take them off for 10 minutes or so, but for 45 bucks its a small price
i don't use headphones for vidya because my cheapo desk speakers are good enough but for music i use what you posted with a dx3 pro and some PEQ to smooth them out
i have tried DT and m50x at my internship.
m50s are way way way better sounding
I forget the exact model, but the HyperX Cloud Gun Metal one.
Much better than my old Logitech G390 or whatever it's called (the blue padded ones).
I use the original Hifiman HE-400 headphones with a JDS Labs Atom amp. I replaced the original pads with some Brainwavz memory foam velour pads (this was actually a decrease in comfort, but my old pads were falling apart. I bought the headphones from some chinese dude who shittily cut and sewed a piece of very soft real leather to the headband, and it's actually really fucking comfy. I don't think anyone knows about this secret chinaman soft leather tech, but I highly recommend it. The leather has stayed in great condition due to the oil from my hair keeping it nice and soft.
They're great headphones, but my friend and roomate owns a pair of Fostex TR-X00 headphones that really kick the shit out of mine sound-wise.
If anyone has any experience with the Hifiman Sundara and Ananda headphones could you give me the low-down on them as desktop headphones?
I know this is more of a Yea Forums question but which headphones are best for music? Got my XxgamergearxX headset already but I don't want to be a fuckhead wearing them while I listen to music on my commute. Any recs?
...
These if you're a poorfag
Those are monitoring headphones
My brethren. Got a pair of MDR-V6s recently as my first 'proper' headphones since an old pair of -V400s that I'd been trying to find a pair that could replicate the feel of for years. Sound fantastic, feel good with upgraded pads, loooong cable, and I never use a mic so that's not a problem.
beyers
Just looked online and replacement pads are $25. Might just go with that. Thanks anons.
>using game as a verb unironically
cringe
Get beats then
Which makes them fantastic for listening to music exactly as the artist intended, instead of being bass-boosted to shit like most headphones are (or the opposite, super strong highs and no mediums or lows) because every Joe Schmo with two speakers thinks this is how his music SHOULD sound.
I'd still go for the V6 over the 7506 despite being the same damn thing just because I love the cheesy FOR DIGITAL badge over the Professional one.
none of the headphones mentioned in this thread are for music enjoyment and listening
My 4 and a half years old Sony MDR10RBT's.
Just took a peak, now that's some audiophile autism I want no part of. I don't need to go in that deep. Thanks though.
Any in particular?
Sony MDR7506
comfy
Apple headphones(audio jack version)
I have been considering buying one of those for sometime now and pair it with an Amp/Dac combo. How do they compare to gaming headsets?
Avantree Audition

dt770s with this eq are literally the best-sounding headphones of all time dropbox.com
I've had my ATH-M50's (not ATH-M50x though unfortunately) since 2013 and they still work great. The pleather at the top peeled off but i found a paracord solution. That's the only issue i've had. Enjoy!
Not the best sound quality but good enough and the mic is decent
>Falling for the gaymin headset meme
I have never been an audiophile, but I do listen to a lot of music. They're a touch quieter than the set I replaced, but that was easily fixed by tweaking settings on my system. The wire construction makes it fit pretty well on my large head. Sound quality is great, at least in my opinion.
The issue I have with my ears hurting is the ears themselves hurting, ie on the side of my head, not the eardrum or the inner workings. I could probably adjust them better, but it doesn't bother me enough, and I use the excuse to get away from the computer for a bit anyway. They were originally recommended to me on Yea Forums a few years back in a similar thread. best 40 bucks I've spent.
If you're not averse to in-ear headphones, I highly recommend checking out Chinese in-ears. China is absolutely buttfucking everyone else when it comes to dollars-to-performance with their in-ears. I'm using the Revonext QT2's and they are absolute monsters for the $50 CAD I bought them for. Very highly regarded in the chi-fi community, well-balanced headphone with great mids and low-end.
If you want over-ears, you will not get the same kind of quality for the price, but you can still get some okay over-ear headphones for fairly cheap prices. One thing I will warn against: a lot of people in the community will recommend headphones that have very little low-end. It is a mistake to listen to music with these types of headphones, as bass response is the biggest energy-driver for music. This slight aversion to bass in the headphone community is due to lots of shitty products focusing solely on pumping as much muddy, terrible, bass as they can, and partly because most cheap headphones do not have great bass response.
Headphones that are light on the low-end will never be as fun or exciting as headphones that are properly balanced or slightly mids/low-end focused. This applies to all genres, even though some people will pretend classical music does not require a low-end presence. I listen to a lot of classical music and it absolutely does.
dt770 for music
shp9500 for gaming
>wearing basically this exact headset right now
>bought it two years ago and immediately hated it
>anything more than a couple hours would have my ears aching from the stiff fucking padding they use
>buy pic related and keep the shitheiser as a backup
>think to myself I know razer is a meme but it's the only not ugly design on the market and the only brand I've never tried
>turns out to be the single most comfortable headset I've ever owned
>sprung for the surround sound which I also thought would be a meme and admittedly didn't make a noticeable difference at first
>can't fucking enjoy some games without it now
>looked to replace it after it broke
>same exact model is now 40% more expensive
>literally nothing has changed it's just 2 years closer to being outdated and it's 40% more expensive
>can't bring myself to give in to artificial price hikes
>can't stand living without it
My Jubilee brother
Please buy some real headphones so you realize your mistake. It's an easy mistake to make, because you don't realize how much you're missing with those shitty Kraken headsets, but you will learn if you make the correct purchase this time.
You will never be able to go back to shitty gaming headsets after you experience real good real headphones.
My brethren
58X have better imaging, bass and overall sound quality than the other too and they have surprisingly deep bass for open backs. The only real caveat is the smaller soundstage if that's something you want and they're not as comfy as the 500 series. The smaller soundstage make vocals a lot more intimate though
Sennheiser HD 598. Have had em since 2015, abuse the fuck out of them and they still work perfectly.
get better earpads for them, brainwavz xl pads should fit them
I'm torn on these. On the one hand, they sound pretty good, (for $50) and their light weight.
But I find them really uncomfortable and I know if I buy cheap I end up buying twice.
If I upgrade to those massdrop sen 6XX will it be a worthy difference?
I need my headphones to be open back because of paranoia.
get the 58X unless you intend to buy an amp. they're real hungry.
Interesting, 880 are the ones I want to have.
I have a pair of Sennheiser 569s and my only gripe is how short the stock cable is. I haven't gotten around to finding a longer one, and I can't roll backwards in my chair without ripping them out of my jack
Those, 250 ohm, with an O2 amp.
HD600s with a lil amp
HD 598 are by far the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. They also have the least fatiguing sound pattern out of any headphone I've tried. I can use them literally all day.
the ones you just posted
This
HD660s
I've also got a couple of others.
AD900Xs. I don't know how they compare to the more often recommended AD700Xs because when I bought them several years ago they were cheaper than the 700s.
I wanted to get 770 pro but non detachable is a deal breaker
Rate please
Used to have the arctis pro, it had great audio quality but the plastic was flimsy as fuck and broke 2 months later, then i bought a second one thinking i wasn't being careful with it and then the second one also broke after 2 months and i decided to buy something different and this one had good reviews
I love the look of the ivory/brown ones, but it's frustrating how much more they cost than the plain black ones.
rated as the best budget headset in 2019 so it isn't all bad
I stole a pair of these from work once, but they were really terrible, so I ended up putting them back.
How exactly do I make use of this information?
OEM pads? Because I'm pretty sure you can get 3rd party velour pads for cheaper.
Steelseries Arctis 7
I made the mistake of shelling out for the arctis pro first. Immediately returned the pro because it can't do silence because there's some shitty tone playing 24/7. I'm convinced that everyone around me has ruined their ears during childhood with excessively loud music since nobody else could hear it. The Arctis 7 however has no such tone. Just clear sound.
It's super comfy, I've never had the battery life impede upon a marathon play session, and I love how the headset is treated as two separate aduio outputs in my computer and that it has a fade slider so that I can adjust the volume of the game that I'm playing relative to the volume of my friends in voip by simply adjusting a wheel on the right ear cup.
My only complaint is that the mute button is both a bit too small and that it's on the same earcup as the mic, so my friends might hear me fumble for it in any situation where we're using hot mics. The pro does fix the small mute button size, but fuck that tone.
Those. Very comfortable.
I play with speakers. I don't want ear problems.
why does it matter?
they're gonna be on your head the whole time
Retard here
Are USB headsets not as good as 3.5m plug ones?
my dream is to never have to use headphones ever fucking again, I listen to music basically all day every day but obviously that's annoying as shit to people so I wear headphones, thank god I have good ears and can comfortably listen to low-volume or else I'd hate my life
I have these, pretty good but I changed the pads because I didnt like the original ones. made a big difference in comfort
It really depends. The actual drivers are one thing but with USB headsets the digital to analog conversion is done on whatever converter is in the headset, which may or may not be shit. Modern PCs typically have halfway decent DACs and 3.5mm headphones can be used with soundcards or external DACs as well, whereas with a USB headset you are going to be getting whatever comes out of the DAC in the headset. Basically, if you're going to buy a USB headset make sure you get one with a decent DAC or you'll regret it.
Those too.
Breddy comfy
Is it easy to change the pads on these?
God no
Glad I didn't fall for the Bose meme
Very much appreciated, user.
Thanks a lot!
yeah it's no problem, just a bit of finagling with them like any other headphones. can't remember the name of the pads but they are some velour pads originally bought for DT770s
why does everything have this Cali warning on it, it isn't just Sennheiser i've seen it on other sites as well
Unironically. Also 1st batch manufactured meaning I threw more money than I should down the drain.
literally those
>wearing headphones
Try moving out of your parents house, little zoom zoom.
~$190 at a thrift shop in Japan.
Same, been using the for 5 years. Always bought cheap 5$ headsets before, until one day I had enough.

HyperX Alphas
Broke the shitty volume control on the cable like 3 times, replaced it with a standard aux cable, removed the microphone (no complaints on that) and use a desk mic on an arm instead.

Got a pair of DT880's after my ATH-TAD500's started falling apart, both great headphones but the 880's are a dream. I just need a better interface, my old xonar stx isnt really cutting it anymore.
I use these on my e-drums for the noise isolation, they don't seem that great for games though.
I use pic related on my PC with a little dot mk2 meme tube amp
the soundchip on my PC mobo isn't enough to power the 6XX?
I'm not super familiar with headphones, but I know pro audio as far as guitar shit goes. I planned on just plugging these into my pc and using em as gaming headphones.
It looks like the 58X are a little cheaper which is nice, but maybe they aren't as open looking as the 6XX?
Its probably going to be good enough.
My hd650 work from my sony tv, with plenty enough volume left.
They also sound well from a laptom audio out.
No difference compared to decktop dac/amp. (odac)
People who say you need expensive equipment to run high end headphones are retarded audiophiles, who wouldn't be able to tell a difference in a real blind test.
Audio Technica ATH-R70x. You shouldn’t buy them for gaming but they’re great headphones, especially for the price. They’re not the most comfortable thing I’ve ever worn.
the exact ones in the thumbnail. headsets with microphones are a meme and they all die quickly.
Corsair HS50.
And they are broken and are annoying as fuck, going to send them for warranty this 15th and after that i will sell them.
And if Corsair doesn't want to fix 2 plastic tabs i swear to god i will never buy anything from them again.
Going to replace them with MDR7506 in the end of the summer.
The 6XX require 300 OHM to sound their best. You'll likely be able to drive em fine but they may not be as loud/clear as you'd like depending on how good your mobo's soundchip is. that can vary wildly.
been using these for years
So, my motherboard audio is good enough (mostly because the built in AMP) has static that is loud as fuck with my DT 770, which is a good soundcard to buy? looks cheaper than investing in a external DAC and AMP.
I honestly couldn't tell a difference in sound with a 90$ amp and my mobo with my 6xx.
Still, the 6xx sounds better than any gaymer headphones I have ever used in games and music.
Actually i have a small collection of headphoned, but for gamin i usually go:
Main headphone: DT880.
For extra isolation: Custom One Pro.
Sound blaster Z
Been using one for nearly 5 years now and I haven't had many faults with it except a couple of times when windows literally broke the drivers for it but that hasn't happened in years. The virtual surround sound option is really accurate too in games like CS:GO.
You can also use the optical in port for any consoles you own and listen to them via the sound card in your headphones connected to your PC. It's a nice piece of hardware all things considered.
so definitely spend the extra on the 6XX over the HD 599's?
Really can't compare anything to the 6xx cause these are the only non-gayming headphones I have ever owned.
I was just stating that I didn't notice a difference with an somewhat expensive amp over my mobo.
ATH-M40x, and a desk mic that I rarely use.
>one side dies
I've experienced this with so many Sennheisers. I've just stopped buying that brand altogether.
I'd recommend an external dac/amp purely because sound cards tend to have shit software that they're tied to. There's quite a few on (mass)drop you can check out and brands like Topping and SMSL have ones that range from quite cheap to real expensive
I tried on all sorts of fancy-pants audiophile headphones, but none of them even compared to my old set. So I got a new pair.
Are these over ear?
airpods lol
Pioneer HDJ 2200 MK I
Best headset I ever used. Been using it for 10 years or so, so that might factor into it.

What? i cant hear you?
These
VMODA crossfade M-100s. More meant for audiophile stuff but so crispy in games.
my hearing is fine, stops around 15mhz, it's just the EEEEEEEEEEEE that bothers me.
Audeze Mobius for gaming and surround content, Audeze LCD-X for everything else.
I used to use Denon D9000s, but a small part that is no longer in production broke. So I'm waiting for my Fostex TX-00s to come in and using Sony WH-1000X3's that I usually use for work.
I used a Sony V600 for probably 13 years before a few months ago the wire finally came loose and started cutting out my sound. Ended up buying a m50x to replace them and eh, it's doing alright.
The bass is super high and the fit is really tight but after a month I finally got used to them.

mdr7506s are the nokia 3310 of headphones
Get out, /g/
he fell for it.
Hifiman Arya, soon.
My sennheisers finally gave out and those were on sale so I got them. They have more bass, so I had to fiddle with my settings a bit to even everything out. They are well worth 100 bucks, though, so I'll wear them out in due time. Coming from 5$ headphones, though, you're gonna have to turn your volume down a little. I doubt you have a DAC, though, so you're not gonna notice a huge difference apart from the sheer comfort.
used these for 2 years until cable got used fucked up.
No bass great mid sound, comfortable as fuck once you bend upper two wires cause they are tight as fuck.
Got black version, is there any video tutorial on modifying this having a removable cable mod ?
Only the finest.
AKG 612s
These are perfect in my opinion, but my retarded ass dropped them / stressed the cable so many times that they have some issues now.
Had to solder the cables to the connectors at least 4 times already but the "jack" that goes directly into the headphone, aka the other end of the cable, has some issues too.
Shit only works properly if i tighten and bend the cable in a certain angle. I'm not sure how to fix this shit so I didn't try to open it there. Should've just gotten headphones with a detachable cable.
I'm about to pull the trigger on Senheiser 599's, I've already looked at the 6XX, the 650 and the 598's.
I also checked out the A7XX and the beyrdynamic 990's.
I'm only going to use them for gayming, and I don't listen to a shit ton of music/watch movies all that often so I figured these being a little cheaper would be nice.
That being said I wouldn't be looking at headphones in the first place if I didn't already buy a cheap pair that I'm unhappy with, so I guess my question is, how much of a difference is it too jump from the 599's ($140) up to the 6XX ($240)? Most reviews I'm seeing online say the difference is minimal so it seems like a safe bet, but I'd rather pay more and not regret it.
Also as a bonus it looks like the 599's take less ohms so might be better off my mobo (Asus Z390-E) with no amp
any other open backs I should look at before I check out?
Nice comfy pillowphones.
Remove earpads, wash in warm water with neutral soap, dry.
What do you do for living?
Eh, I'm unemployed and could buy the Z1R's after 6 months of saving.
Speakers in mono
Hourly retail supervisor. I'm just dumb with money.
"I did so well saving my money, I figured I treat myself to something nice!"
AKG 612s Pro
They work good and I love them, but my stupid ass dropped them a couple of times / stressed the cable by pulling (the cable keeps getting entwined in my chair) and so I had to solder the cables to the connectors inside the left earpiece at least 4 times.
Soldering fixed them but only to an extent - the headphones work but the cable that leads directly into the earpiece only works when I bend it in a certain angle.
Not sure how to fix this and I didn't want to cut it off there and not be able to fix it later on so I didn't touch it. If anyone has some advice, I'm all ears.
Another thing I noticed is that there was a green "liquid" that would stick to my hands when I opened the earpiece for the first time, I think it leaked from the cables or something.
The 599s are probably a good choice.
They work pretty well as on the go headphones as well.
However, the audio on the Z390-E is kind of awful.
I have the same motherboard and had issues with distortion and really muddy lows.
Upgrading to an actual sound card was like night and day.
meant to reply to
Thanks! I've never used a sound card. what should I check out?
The z390-e sounds better than my last mobos have, that being said I am most likely audio pleb, outside of high end bass amps/guitar shit I have no experience.
Same. I'm gonna treat myself with Hifiman Aryas and ZMF Atticus.
Recommend a superior headset + mic for a similar price
I use those for music but I use cheap as shit flat response headphones with an open soundstage for gaming. They let the noise be right.
Headphones you want plus 10 bucks cheapo microphone.
The 6xx is a hd650 with a short cable. I've only exstensively gamed with the 600 because they were my first good cans, but I can try each out with and without my amp (audiogd nfb11) if you want me to get back to you.
They're all great but different for music and all pretty good for games. If you don't want to get into amps get the 58x though. Much louder from weak sources and has more thump to the bass (especially without an amp). The 6xx and 600 are noticably quiter and for me only just loud enough to be useable above quiet listening with a bad source. Minor amplification helps them a lot.
roger that. Thanks for the help guys
currently on sound card rabbit hole now that this user said my mobo sounds bad.
I've owned a couple Asus Xonar cards. First a DGX then an Essence STX II. Both great cards and work fine in Win10 despite being fairly old.
There are a lot of external solutions though, and they're probably better in terms of price/quality.
The z390 doesn't really sound bad per se, but the issues manifested themselves in pretty nasty ways for me. A good audio solution still just sounds better too.
I don't doubt it sounds better.
I'll never forget going from my solid state piece of shit bass amp to my genz benz streamliner. 900 watts is too loud for any sane person though so I don't get to use it much.
The file was too large so I had to take another
i have both dt770 and dt990. the open version (990) are better
HD598s. They've lasted years, though I've had to replace the pads at the headband due to wear and tear. I've also fitted them with a modmic.
Literally can't tell any of them apart.
Have Sennheiser's HD 558's
I've got a DG and DGX in my computers. Have you heard the soundblaster Z or X AE-5? I'm curious for a friend
I have the HD 558's which use the same driver as this one, just has a slightly cheaper and uglier look. But I can attest to this. I can (and regularly do) wear them 14 hours a day without ever getting fatigued, the sound is fantastic and they're like clouds on your ears.
I will probably keep them forever. I can certainly say that I'm never going back to closed-back headphones, and they'll always be over-ears as well
hyper x cloud alpha. Reasonably priced, they sound good, they're comfortable and don't get too warm around the ears, and the mic sounds pretty damn good too. I'll never understand some of the sounds I hear coming from people's mics online when you can get an above average headset for $80-$100. And I think going beyond this price range the price to performance value begins to drop.
Sorry, I haven't.
I'm not a fan of Creative.
Currently using these. My first gaming headset. Thinking of selling these and upgrading. Any recommendations? or are these the already top tier? Preferbly wired as I game on PC now.
forgot pic
Someone should try German ww2 headsets used by the tank radio operators for shits and giggles.
They were probably Beyer dynamics.
What keyboard are you lads using?
I've got the same headset and I love it. The only problem is that people can hear themselves and what I am listening to from my microphone.
I'll give you one for less pleb.
Superlux 668B + V Moda boom pro.
the ones you posted, put them on a guitar amp.
just taped a mic onto it kek
>tfw used an IBM keyboard from 1990 for +25 years
>tfw accidently killed it in a rushed cleaning job
All these modern keyboards fucking suck.
Fuck tell me about it, I'm about to dump a good deal of money on a valve index and a major desktop upgrade the moment they are available locally.
At least I would've saved a fair amount by then.
Disgusting
It's a knockoff. It's also not meant for anything but voice.
You are not going to avoid static wit a sound card.
are you using them at an absurd volume? I've never had that issue.
Based anons. Studio gear rocks though I wouldn't use it solely for gaming. Got a pair of m50x and they're awesome. I used to play with a pair of Pioneer se-205 good for listening to music but nowhere near a good pair studio grade beyer dynamics, sehnheiser's or Audio technica's. Would recommend open back headphones for prolonged use (Beyerdynamic dt990) as it does less damage to the ears.
PS prolonged usage of headphones will degrade your hearing ability over time

Bose QCII
Perfect sound for every situation, and with a switch flip it silences background noise. I can't hear my loud AC running which is godsent. Only downside is that you need to charge it after maybe 15 hours of use.
>gaming headsets
lmao never again, get a real mic
I don't use headphones because I actually took care of my ears as a kid and don't need them to hear the television.
DT990 actually, very nice stuff
I bought this one for 3 bucks like 8 years ago. Every now and then I get the urge to maybe buy an expensive mechanical keyboard, but I just can't let go of this one, it feels too good to use, despite the fact that its a rubberdome.
I do a thorough cleaning of it a couple of times a year. Open it up and put it in the shower then let it dry over the night.
That's exactly the model I had as well, they just don't make them like they used to.
That thing will last +40 years.

There has literally not been a single study that links the two
>sound engineer student
get a refund, your clown college is feeding you pure shit.
I like usb headset now
user you really couldn't be any more of a retard if you tried
There's surely something to be said about it, but it's got nothing to do with the headphones themselves but more with people being fucking retarded thinking they need a high volume to properly enjoy something.
t. dumb kid who actually used q-tips to "clean" their ears and are totally unaware of the damage she's done
And the same could be said if you had regular bookshelf speakers and blasted them loud
Headphones may be closer to your ears but they require siginificantly less volume to be heard comfortably, that's literally how sound waves work.
Show me a single study that proves headphones do damage, I'll wait.
I didn't say headphones do damage you dumb fuck. Learn to read.
Yeah, that's why I literally said it has nothing to do with the headphones themselves. Stop being so defensive and actually read.
So literally no argument
fuck off retards
You're the one who has no argument by totally ignoring mine and trying to twist it into something else. YOU are the retard. Clean your ears and get your eyes checked Jesus Christ.
>college
Sorry, not in burgerland. Higher education is almost free here compared to the US.
>There has literally not been a single study that links the two
I did say PROLONGED use of headphones. Imagine being at a concert and you stay next to a loudspeaker. After the concert your ears will ring and your hearing will be reduced for a limited amount of time. Now imagine the same SPL applied directly on your ears for days. Not going deaf eh ? You don't really expect two transducers aimed directly at your ears to not harm them if you are abusing them. (this considered most people listen way louder than recommended sound levels) There are numerous articles on this. Also thisAnons please READ. P-R-O-L-O-N-G-E-D use. especially if you are listening to sounds above 90 dBu
Not everything is a fucking argument you hyper autistic fuck. Lay off the adderall.
Hyperx cloud, not sure if 1 or 2. They don't sound amazing, but they were heavily discounted and are very comfortable. I have a twelve year old pair of Sennheiser HD 465 headphones that I use if I want anything to sound prettier. They're physically falling apart though. The ear foam's perished and the plastic is kinda aging.
