Shit man, how many threads will it take before you hack your Vita? Just do it.
What are you playing Vitabros?

I'm scared of bricking it though. :c
I did it last week. The guide made it too easy. Haven't tried any of the emulator stuff through adrenaline yet though
Just hacked mine the other day. Still waiting on my SD2Vita to arrive though. Looking forward to playing on it.
Don't be, it's simple and easy.
Why would I need to hack it? I'm playing Trails FC now. I'm going to play through Aoi on my Vita then switch to PS4 for the Sen games.
emulation
undubs
overclocking
cheats
using it as a controller
etc
where can I get a vita for a good price?
P3D and P5D. They're alright, but really no incentive to keep on playing the dull songs over and over again.
>emulation
My PC already does that.
>undubs
I know Japanese and play the original versions.
>overclocking
But for what?
>cheats
Don't need them.
>using it as a controller
The DS4 is my go-to universal controller.
>etc
You haven't really given me a reason.
Install a app that installs Vitashell over a unused app like Near. If you ever have to get a bigger memory card you will be glad you did.
Fumbled around with Retroarch, and now I have that working exactly how I want it to. I'll get back to DT2 after I beat Fire Emblem IV, I think. Recovered my save, so I can carry on with the final chapter instead of starting over.
You should know not to respond to posts like that.
>You should know not to respond to posts like that.
Calm down, retard. It was a genuine question because I wanted to know why I would actually do it. The only reason I hacked systems in the past was for fan translated games and emulators, neither of which is an issue anymore. If there's no other real reason, then I'm not going to hack it for the sake of hacking it.
My memory card died and I don't feel like getting another one to mod it (1000).
Just get a 4GB one for $10-$15.
Dont have one and I would only do it for emulation. Not as easy to find cheap af Vitas if there's no craiglist or something of the kind where I live
>overclocking for what
Resolution hacks and practically all games. Guaranteed 33% increase in framerate minimum (better load times, too)
it's as easy as installing Adrenaline and then using a Bubble manager to create bubbles for the PSP games. All you have to do is open the bubble then
Using a MicroSD card instead of the overpriced proprietary ones and Moonlight were the reasons I hacked mine.
cant decide between:
the calligula effect
lost child
digimon world new order (got greymon and gatomon as first digimon, but it appears i wont get angewomon)
you sure?
That sounds interesting for action games.
That ship already sailed. I bought several memory cards already.
>What are you playing Vitabros?
Just downloaded Cyber Sleuth. Last time I touched Digimon was years ago when I watched Tamers with my cousin. Quite excited.
feel an urge to play ffx nsg so I might as well dust off the ol' vita to play it
Already did it last year.
Just haven't found a game to get into that I haven't already played
No sphere grid is pretty fun.
I bought fully hacked Vita 1000 + sd2vita 32gb for only 60$ from there in good condition
You may need a little luck with that though
I recently purchased a second-hand Vita 1000 at a local game store. It works fine. Now I just need to wait for my SD2Vita, microSD, and memory card to arrive. In the meantime, I've been hacking my 3DS.
I have finished persona 4 golden and super time force, wanted to play persona 3 but the visual novel style threw me off, so I decided to emulate it on PC and decided to finish persona 5 on my ps4 first
I tried moonlight on my PC and it was an amazing experience desu, playing nier automata on the vita is an amazing experience
Is easy to do as long as you follow the guide, my good user.
I just finished hacking mine.
>your Vita
I also have sn important question, I want to remote play games from my ps4 to my vita, but I didn't jail break the ps4 while my vita is hacked, will that brick any of my consoles, or is it not worth trying?
Just got mine.
What're some good visual novels on it? I was never comfortable playing visual novels on computer.
Also which themes are you guys using?
Is it possible to play pirated games?
Of course
>only sellers are 2 people selling them at gamestop price (150)
it isn't fair
Steins Gate 1 and 0
Also Eiyuu Senki. Especially if you mod the sex scenes back in.
eBay is cheaper than that.
Just get a used Japanese slim. Those are almost always in good condition
I like to think OP is making these threads for me because I keep procrastinating whenever it's time for me to hack my Vita. The longer I procrastinate, the sooner Sony releases a new firmware. I should probably hack my Vita.
I have an OLED model and I was wondering if having a slim as a backup is worth it.
I got some black lines and an unresponsive left analog stick, is it going to be expensive to fix them myself?
I jumped on the 400GB SD card, coming in the mail tomorrow. Should be a decent upgrade. I'll probably put my 256GB card in my 3DS because why not, lets go full overkill even though my 128GB card isn't even full.
Are the start/home buttons hard to press with that grip? It looks awfully deep in pictures
Not really, but I imagine if you had to press them both at the same time for whatever reason it would be enormously difficult.
Can you link me to that case?
I wanna buy one for my 1000 to hide the scratches.
>this thread again
Bless you user, I saw this thread last night but didn't get to participate much. Look man, I don't know what it is, but I'm very interested in getting a Vita now. Either a red or blue one. I want to play on a handheld again. I own an old 3DSXL but it's too heavy and clunky and shit and hacking it requires me buying a flashcart which I don't want to do. I think what I'd primarily use the Vita for is for SNES, N64, Game Boy/Color/Advance, Dreamcast (?) emulation. I'd also be interested in hacking so I can use a MicroSD card and for fps increases.
3DS hacking doesn’t require a flash cart anymore.
I went from latest firmware to luma CFW with just a micro sd card.
im still on 3.60 and havent touched my vita since the week the original ching chong MaiDump tool came out. is there anything new and exciting I should be updating for?
No.. don’t update. Hacking will be super easy at your current firmware. Once that’s done you can get plugins for anything requiring later firmware.
I love these threads. My friend has a Vita and has hacked it, which got me interested. Then I saw these threads and it gave me the motivation to finally buy one. It's a great emulator, and there are some great PSP and Vita games you can get. I'm mainly interested in the HD ports of old PS2 games because I never got to finish all of the original Ratchet and Clank games.
It is just a generic bootleg Chinese case off Ebay. Just search "Vita Grip R2 L2" and you'll find it. It's like $20, comes in black too.
You won't as long as you follow the guide to the letter.
Oh really? Nice. What guide did you follow? hax.b4k.co
Awesome. Yeah, honestly I'd just want a Vita because I really like its design. How tough was it to hack? I also wonder if there's an "Open PSN" shop or something like that that would allow one to download games from the shop for free, much like I hear the 3DS had. If not, no biggie.
There are no vita games I feel like playing right now.
I've done this but there's nothing really essential to play. The emulation is cool but I'm too old now to want to play games I played 10-15 years ago.
Can you show what the back looks like?
i cant for some reason connect my vita to my new router even when it's 2.4 ghz. Can I hack my vita without it connecting to the internet? I don't feel like getting my old router out and setting it up.
>Can I hack my vita without it connecting to the internet?
Nope. Technically you can do the entire downgrade process without internet if you have 3.70 but once you're on 3.60, you need to be able to use the internet browser. There might be a workaround but I don't know of it.
I haven't been able to hack mine because I'm still waiting on my supplies, but general consensus is that it's pretty easy. You just need the correct tools for the job. The Vita hacks guide is pretty straight forward: vita.hacks.guide
3DS.guide has a tutorial that’s pretty comprehensive. You pick your firmware and they’ll give you the best option for you. The one I did involved using the DS mode’s download play and a modified dsiware game. The dsiware you hack is free, so no worries there either.
Hi who the fuck types Fire Emblem 4 like that
There is a PSN free shop. It’s easier to use the program for it on pc though cause the vita downloads hella slow. Just search nopaystation.
>first time playing Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown, and Muramasa
>It's perfect
I never played MM Legends so I'm probably gonna play that one next
Complete brainlet of a question but one I'm too lazy to search.
If I hack it and downgrade to 3.60, am I still able to play my legally purchased games?
Here you go.
what? I think you misunderstood. My Vita is already on CFW, its just out of date and I wanted to know what has changed since then.
>am I still able to play my legally purchased games?
Obviously.
Do you guys selling a vita is a good idea? I only have 4 physical games left, prefer to play psp games on my psp, ps1 i prefer to play on a tv. I don't have much sony stuff except for psp and ps3. Indie releases are the only thing i could play that i didn't play on pc or something, but lots of stuff gets ported to switch anyways, except for games like fez, spelunky, hotline miami.
Also, didn't use that thing since the last year or something.
Okay. I thought maybe you couldn't access the Playstation Store once you downgraded.
Haven't been playing on my Vita much since I've been in hardcore study mode for the last 4 months.
I play one day of Stardew Valley when I lie in bed to wind down. It's nice. I love my Vita.
How exactly does the L2/R2 function work with that grip? Does it just plop a bit of metal onto the pad that transfers the electrons from the shoulder buttons?
Does the Mini SD card adapter thing work well?
I have a large capacity mini SD card laying around
Might buy a used Vita. What should I look for? What things -if any- will I need?
Yeah, it works great. Get a v3.0 or v5.0.
Getting a bigger SD card in the 200GB+ sizes just means you're gonna horde games and not ever play them. take it from me, stick to a smaller sized one.
>What should I look for?
That its in good condition and comes with a charger. If its a 1000, might be nice if it comes with a memory card.
>What things -if any- will I need?
For hacking? A SD2Vita and a SD card if you're planning on using a SD card. That's it.
Is there a game that doesn't lag? All those thrash games like Bullet Girls all lag like hell. And yes I've played all the good ones like FW, Toukiden, GE, SSD, etc.
Hacked it a few days back. Had the Adrenaline installed yesterday. Browsing through PSP xmb felt quite nostalgic. It's funny how even officially bought PSP games properly appear in XMB. With animated icons, background and music. Didn't know how I missed these small things.
That said, I've downloaded Rising Zan and What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord?! 2 and gonna play these two for a time being.
How do you use it?
Hack your Vita.
I did, just god the adapter, it doesn't seem to work just like that. Do i need certain drivers or apps? Can i use both that card and my vita sd card at the same time?
It goes in the game card slot.
Hack the vita, follow the instructions on how to format the SD card and put the image file onto it, download the appropriate plugins on the vita itself, and you’re good to go.
>tech James
I love this man’s voice.
>game card slot
...no shit, mate. I'm not super smart but not THAT dumb.
Thanks, didn't get if i can use both the cards at the same time though. I have a 32 vita card and 64 sd.
Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
In that case I'd recommend you to steer clear of Jak Trilogy port for Vita, as it's pretty bad, as well as Ninja Gaiden ones that look and perform pretty bad. Ratchet, Sly and MGS are fine, though. You could argue that MGS experience on Vita is not perfect due to lack of pressure sensitive buttons, but eh, it's okay.
I installed all my homebrew on my vita memory card, but i recently got a sd2vita card with a 32gb mini sd. I know I cant just plug and play with the sd2vita however. Anyone got a guide for switching over my shit from the memory card to the sd2vita or do i just copy and move everything?
What's so stupid exactly? I asked cause i put it in and it didn't work.
Ok, i got it, i can't use both of my cards at the same time, whatever i guess. 2 dollars wasn't that much to pay for, but couldn't just used the old one.
...
...
*could've
How do I even find a PSVita with 3.65 firmware?
Nah, you can't use Vita games on both, but Homebrew and PS1 games should work fine.
>What are you playing Vitabros?
I play a 3DS, not a PSVita
Why would you want to?
That's what the OP link suggests I need
>techjames
Ah, ok then. I'll just put all my psp and ps1 into 64 card then, much more favourite games on those, plus more stuff that i never played. Vita is just some old games, indies.
Then don’t respond to questions not directed toward you, “vitabro”
>That's what the OP link suggests I need
>vita.hacks.guide
>This guide will work on all PS Vita, PS Vita Slim, and PS TV devices in all regions on firmwares from 1.03 to 3.70
?
Read it more carefully please.
Is there some sort of a ps2 emulator? Even barely working one like n64 on psp? Or what are other "ps2 classic" games except for sly, ratchet, jak, gow, mgs, persona, ff x?
I would be shocked if there's anything more than plastic in this grip.
I just want to get a blue slim vita with all the buttons black to match the sticks and bezel but I can't find anybody that's selling just the blue front screen so I can place it over a regular black slim.
>tfw all the grips are black or white
What about us colored vitabros!?
Hate this guy. He doesn't explain shit very clearly so I just end up going to some other guy named Mario or some shit.
anyone
I hadn't heard of the Jak Trilogy being bad. That breaks my heart since those are some of my all-time favorite games. I already have the MGS trilogy on my Xbox, but it would be nice to have most of the series in one place. Are the God of War ports any good?
>He doesn't explain shit very clearly
Nigga what? I followed this same tutorial for my SD2Vita, it doesn't get more clear.
MML has no analog aiming but you can do it in the Vita, you'll just need to change the controls a bit
Which side are you on, user? black or White? You gotta choose. BLACK? WHITE? WHAT WILL IT BE?
How are people managing to get moonlight running fluidly.
I'm hotspot ting from pc wifi card bypassing router and setting pc desktop res to native vita res on a 1000 and still experiencing choppyness.
Does the new moonlight make a big difference?
I want to use moonlight!
I hope the homebrew scene picks up now that all firmwares are hackable. It's depressing that most of that native emulators are outperformed by PSP emulator ports.
ah, thanks, im blind.
You won't brick it. If you do, you're fucking retarded.
Why's it gotta be like this bros?
>Why would I need to hack it? I'm playing Trails FC now. I'm going to play through Aoi on my Vita then switch to PS4 for the Sen games.
Nice blog, faggot
>It's depressing that most of that native emulators are outperformed by PSP emulator ports.
Same. I think the problem basically boils down to a lack of any real effort to improve them.
Your vita is really clean user. I didn't get a white one because I'm a slob and it would probably look gross in a week.
Haven't tried it. Not a biggest GoW fan. But I haven't heard any complaints, so these ports are probably adequate. As for Jak, well, they are playable. It's just that framerate is terrible and in case of Jak 2 it really hinders the gameplay (which is pretty unbalanced already). Never tried the third one, though.
glad I got mine a couple years ago
Would upping the clock speed help with the frame problems, or is that out of the question?
Doesn't help with frame rate on how, but it does help having it on full and using the vita grafix plug in to run the games at native res (which they aren't by default) . So the over clock does still help.
GoW.. Typo there
Would you believe the possibility of another Sony handheld?
The psp and the vita were damn great, if shortlived.
They were very powerful for their time and I bet they can make something better than the switch
Gonna keep mine for the vanilla ware stuff and soul sacrifice.
Nothing like them. Will be keeping my vita.
How much are they used now? And what models are hackable? Oh and how is the doom port?
I'll have to mess around with the clock speed whenever I have my Vita hacked and my games downloaded. Hopefully I can get Jak running better. Thanks for the help.
It sucks that Sony can't seem to move handhelds the way that Nintendo can. The PSP and PSVita were great systems with plenty of niche titles. I've had a blast recently with hacking the PSP and discovering games that I haven't played before.
snes and nes games, algo harvest moon btn
there's no chance of them actually doing it in their current state so it doesn't matter
they're drunk on their western profits and would sabotage it again by killing off the only group still interested in sony handhelds - niche japanese genres
Don't hold your breath
By the way they treated the vita, I don't trust them anymore
I love that thing, somehow it was an upgrade to an already perfect console, but they fucking murdered it
Fuck them
I'd say the switch is a magnificent handheld in a similar form factor. I just hope they will release a more portable size.
Also godspeed op. Doing God's work.
>Would you believe the possibility of another Sony handheld?
No. I think the traditional handheld era is fucking dead. The 3DS was the last champion.
user that was installing a psvsd the other day, and found T2 screws - fuck T2 screws.
Now I've got a fucking mini screw plier coming in the mail to force those things off. Fun.
Nah. I'm fine with the Vita being their last handheld. I only wish they had released something similar to the E1000 series of PSP models, like a budget, less expensive Vita with all of the unnecessary trash removed like the camera, nobody uses that shit and the touchscreen too, remove that as well because I don't like the idea of having to touch my Vita screen.
Good on you user.
Thankfully according to an ifixit thread, these *will* work. So that's something.
If they'll purge idiots among higher-ups than it might have a chance. Because that is what killed Vita. Idiots. System had lots of opportunities to be popular and have a stack of killer apps on board. Just look at Japanese Vita market, it was huge just a few years back. And with proper management there could've been similiar case with the West. But alas, it never happened and what really happened is a goddamn shame.
You know, I kinda start losing fate in Sony, with all that Commiefornia censorship stuff, alienating niche Japanese devs and rumours of online-only PS5. Probably gonna jump to Nintendo on the next generation.
>Shit man, how many threads will it take before you hack your Vita? Just do it.
I've already bought a metric ton of Vita games, I don't need no stinking hack, thank you. I like to keep my Vita pure like her mom Sony made her. If I installed a hack, it would be like have a bc rape her internals for my own sadistic tastes.
My vita has been collecting dust since the dawn of the universe though. Is it good enough to emulate any heavier 3d emulators?
>OP asks which games people are playing
>user posts games
>blog
Idiots like you ruined this board.
Not really. It can run some Quake 3 Engine games, though. N64, in theory, could be possible, but there are no good emulators being made.
Just hacked my beat up 1000, wanna get a SD2Vita and 128GB card as well as a new 2000 if I can find the blue one for a reasonable price
The Vita is a wonderful little jrpg port machine, and playing PSP games like Metal Slug or the SotN on it is just great. Unfortunately, Sony sucks dicks now, so I have no faith. I also really wish Nintendo would stop the gimmick shit. I'd much rather the switch be a stationary console with some more horsepower. Then devs might actually make more 3rd party games on it.
wtf bros i thought the vita was dead where do i get one wtf Yea Forums you let me downa gaian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Wheres a good place to buy a new slim model vita amazon reviews say some of them come used
>What are you playing Vitabros?
Vitashell since I've just been doing file management lately.
I do have a stalled run of MHFU to get back to, though.
>no Scarlet Grace SaGa english patch
>no word on the translation since the announcement
I should've just learned Japanese bros
>I should've just learned Japanese bros
It's never too late.
Make sure spoofed version is up to date. You simply just put the version in a settings menu in your vita, normally autofilled to the current one. I wanted to answer this because I wondered the same. No trouble remoteplaying at all.
I have Vita Enso for a long while now and I was in the middle of putting sd2vita but got bored. I might redo the hack and pirate some games but I honestly don't really care at the moment.
NO
I was on 3.68 cfw but wanted to try the phantasy stars and dragon quest heroes 2 with translations so i rehacked it after updating to 3.70. It was annoying but I got a 256gb micro sd for the rehack anyhow so it I guess it made sense because I filled the 128 up way too easily. I also bought a pdp trigger grip on ebay for 30 dollars because that shit was so hard to find cheap. I am super happy and will never play all the games on it. Also I am Setsuna translation and that one legend of- offshoot arpg game.
>finally hacked my Vita
>tfw when no SD2Vita
>tfw my jew memory card is only 8 Gb
Don't forget to play the only good Monkey Ball game released in the past decade. Supposedly Capcom is working on a new one.
Just buy a 128GB for 20 bucks user.
Whoops, obviously meant Sega.
I sold my vita 3 years ago
How dare you.
Its time.
have fun downloading in pkgj. i filled up my 128gb card already.
Does vita Trails have fast-forward mode from PC?
I'm playing Steins;Gate, really good.
what keeps me from putting vitashell on the new memory card? cus i did just that
cuck
yes, as far as i know
P4G
Again
I'm going to romance Chie.
Again.
I hacked the thing and tried to play SMB3 using RetroArch but it felt kind of wrong, should I use a dedicated emulator instead of RetroArch? At times it felt like the fps were dropping down and I don't think it's because the Vita lacks power to run them.
Evolution has everything plus more voice acting. The OST is changed, and you have to buy the old one of you want it, and the art is more 2010's than 90's.
Mine is hacked and I still don't have any games I would want to play
>not Naoto
>mess around with save editor 2nd to last dungeon
>somehow makes me girlfriend with everyone
>finish the dungeon and it goes to valentine's day where I discover this
I've never felt like such a cheat
But can I get a used vita for like 50 bucks?
Then I can play all its exclusives VNs
Nah. Prices have been going up too since the JP production shut down.
More like 80-100 bucks.
Just found one for 65 yuro near me
>yuro
Oh, that's different.
Vita sucks.
I hate that the Vita overclock plugins mess with Adrenaline so much.
Even the latest unofficial version of Lolicon has issues with it; if the Vita goes into sleep mode with Adrenaline open the system crashes.
Either way, loving Mana Khemia atm.
I used the unofficial one for awhile but it kept crashing Adrenaline for me. After switching to official though, it completely fixed all my issues though and Adrenaline is fine. So yeah, if you haven't give it a try then its worth a shot. Although it seems mileage may vary.
>and hacking it requires me buying a flashcart
No it doesn't.
I initially had the official one though. With the official one, my Vita-chan froze simply trying to boot up Adrenaline.
Mana Khemia 3 never ever
Shit sux man.
Every PS2 emulator is a barely working one.
Had no problems with PCSX2 so far
Playing Persona 4 Golden undub.
What are some psone and psp games to pick up for adrenaline?
Yeah its hard to say what makes everyone's case different. For me the unofficial one just outright doesn't work with Adrenaline so its the reverse of your case I suppose. I dunno.
They did. It's called PSTV. They just went a bit overboard with the unnecessary trash removal.
I am really torn. I have not played my Vita in a few months since my Switch is hacked now, but the Vita was such a kino handheld. Hell, even my modded PSP is still good. I am feeling really nostalgic for all the good times I had with my Vita both before and after I hacked it and I really regret not buying more games for it. Should I leave my Switch at home sometimes and bring my Vita instead? The size of it was really convenient, too.
I put the micro sd in the adapter and it got stuck. Had to pull it out with my teeth
Not him but I would prefer it freeze right away rather than after you played for several hours without saving.
Yeah the official one doesn't freeze at all for me. I played FF8 for 8 hours straight the other day, perfectly fine.
That sure is a lot of (you)
where do you get the analog stick caps from?
Managed to snag this for 50$ online, for some reason the Vita and PS4 bundles are heavily discounted everywhere at the moment.
>if vita could ps2 titles it would be the perfect handheld and undisputed GOAT
why didn't sony port some ps2 classics to the vita? they knew the popularity of ps2, people would lineup for miles to get their hands on a portable that can run ps2 games.
when designing the vita, one of the top priorities should've been "make sure it can run ps2 games because we could literally do nothing but just sell digital ps2 titles and people will buy this shit for whatever price we ask"
Is the undub version that much better? also is that a whole new version of the game or did you just patch the undub onto the game?
not him but the undub version is just patched, and it depends on if you like the english or nip voices better.
I hate chie's english dub, so I stuck with the undub.
Which is the superior Vita color?
*slaps your PSVita out of your hands*
"WHAT?! AND WHAT NIGGA, HUH?!"
white if you keep it clean
This shit is literally gay as fuck.
White hides your finger smudges better than the black does. Making the 1000 glossy was a mistake, I hope they fired that guy.
I think white looks more slick in general, feels more premium for some reason.
What is that game user? And does it have any more tits in it?
Ah cool I was thinking the undubbed version had content that was removed in the NA version
Official one freezes for me so much that I can easily reproduce it at any time I want. I'm not using lolicon at all anymore.
muramasa rebirth
great game
Sadly lost my save along with a dead 64gb memory card
I have sky blue
I want to have a girl lick my Vita.
It truly is.
>mfw the Vita could be the perfect portable emulator machine but nobody gives a shit about it to make good emulators an retroarch is broken af
What a waste baka
What are some good story games?
I don't really care about games that focus on gameplay or are really long without a good plot. I liked P4G. Going to try Danganronpa.
Do I have to worry too much about the firmware spoof thing in the options? I wrote 3.70 on it since that's the current official fw, right?
Question: can you play OoT/MM and Silent hill 1 to 4 on it?
Persona 2 has a great story. Suikoden 1 and 2, Final Fantasy games etc
no, buy a 3DS if you want to play the old Zelda games
No. The only thing to worry about is if Sony updates the Vita to a new version. You'd just write in the new version though at that point, nothing crazy. Unlikely to happen so I wouldn't sweat it.
How tough is Persona 2? I'm not the best at these games because I always get caught up in the story so I don't like grinding in between plot points.
But its so smol I have adult hands
XL?
I see. I'll just continue using my laptop for emulation then.
buy a grip, you should have one for all handhelds
it's not too difficult
People seem nice in this thread so I'll try my luck.
Commuting is driving me crazy and I'm considering using my Vita again as it fits what I need. Thing is, I haven't touched the thing in a while and I played pretty much every game I was interested in (P4G, Vanillaware games, Miku etc.). I think it's on 3.60 which limits the games I can play, things like NoPayStation weren't a thing when I used it. So two questions:
How easy would it be to get it 'up to date' in terms of hacking?
Can anyone recommend any games (including PSP)? I'm on a bit of an ARPG kick right now.
>Shit man, how many threads will it take before you hack your Vita? Just do it.
The end of time since it's more fucking useless than even the Wii U.
Do you have Enso?
>I think it's on 3.60 which limits the games I can play,
Not anymore, download ref00d.
>How easy would it be to get it 'up to date' in terms of hacking?
Depends what you have.
I believe I do have Enso yes. I didn't know ref00d was a thing so that's helpful, thank you!
My Vita was generally for P4G, Vanillaware games, Taiko and Miku. I played some indie games that were free on PS+ like Velocity 2X, but that's about it. I played Steins;Gate and 0 on it, but I want to stay away from VNs because they make me too sleepy while commuting.
If you want to update your Enso or check if you even have it, use this:

The Enso app has an option to uninstall and reinstall iirc. Check this for plugins people use:

After that, you're pretty much set. Update your Adrenaline if you can, download pkgj and whatever else you want.
why not a switch?
>order screen protector online
>get some yellowed shit with dark/brown edges
the fuck?
also is it advised to put a screen protector on the back?
Does it works the European too?
advantages that enso has over my 3.68 hacked but not enso vita?
You can put a screen protector on the back if you feel like but there's no real need. Also it might make grips have trouble fitting if you use one.
Where do I find Nintendo roms, now that Emuparadise is dead?
You can play games that require firmware above 3.60 using the patches. They are applied through PKGj, the same app used to download games straight from Vita.
As for ARPGs, I can r commend Ys series. Vita is a good platform to delve into the series, as there are lots of games both on PSP and Vita itself. Ys Seven, Origin, Memories of Celceta and Lacrimosa of Dana are pretty good.
Play it in easy mode with autocombat and it's nothing more than a very interactive visuel novel
emuparadise
can't emulate n64 or gamecube very well
I'm guessing the PS1 version of EP doesn't have this though? That psp translation isn't really moving.
>he doesn't know
What a refreshing thread. Good grammar, kind people, and no nu-wojak images, shitposting, or frog images or /pol/ shit. Fuck's sake is it refreshing.
Vita threads are comfy.
Vitabros are based.
Ask vitagen. They're all about VNs.
You can get them on ebay or aliexpress. You can get pretty much any accessory on ebay or aliexpress. Even Play-Asia, but they might be more expensive for some items.
>metal
Silicone, dude.
Not sure about the white ones but I got a pack of pretty similar ones just from Amazon. I'm sure you could find them on Ebay too, or AliExpress if you don't mind waiting for shipping.
Why is this here every day now? I already hacked ages ago. Playing some trash untranslated weeab game at the moment. It's mindless fun, just hoping I won't get tired of it before I finish.
It sucks but it's probably the most comfortable grips for the system, it's like butter in your hand without adding too much to the overall bulk of the unit in anything but depth. The extra two triggers are also great even if you're not playing games with L3/R3, since you can remap them to be more comfortable L2/R2.
just ordered a new charger from china so i'll be able to finally dust off my old henkaku vita and play some SMT
can you use a sd card and vita memory cars in tandem now?
I got that for less than 2 bucks on Humble Bundle. Not disappointed with that purchase, but I would like the physical game. Fucking Gamestop might have it.
Most decent screen protector packs come with a plastic film one for the back, you may as well since it'll just get scratched up otherwise. No need, but no harm either.
How thick are your film screen protectors, user? Nobody makes glass ones for the back, which would be the only reason to worry about thickness.
>tfw still using a 1.0
It really does suck portable gaming is dying.
My job involves lots of traveling and while I have a huge backlog of 3DS, VITA, Switch, it concerns me that switch is the only thing supported now. My vita 64 Gb card died and I’m scared all the vita cards will expire soon
How long does this take compared to the 3ds hack?
I did the 3ds hack twice at different stages and its not something I want to do again for the sake of it, I'm not sure if the vita is worth hacking when I may aswell wait for Switch hacks to get a bit better
literally takes 1 minute
>frames were dropping
At what point?
>PS2 games
Have fun getting analog controls to work.
White inevitably turns yellow over time, so I'd rather have the black one. I also don't like white peripherals in general.
And you mean literally figuratively right?
Is it possible to hack it on current Ofw? I unhacked mine from henkaku so I could play stardew and dungeon Travelers 2.
Got me demon Gaze as well. Probs playing that after dt2
What are some must have Vita or PSP games for someone who can enjoy mostly any genre?
PSOne games welcome.
literally takes 1 minute
I lost my charger can i use normal USB cable to charge vita?
BASED, figuratively speaking
literally takes 1 minute
just like you IN BED lolll
What does overclocking do? Which games are better with it?
Fucking love my vita as a emulation device, best fuxking dpad ever made why can't Sony put the same dpad on the duel shock 4.
Mostly use it for emulation and PSP games, playing the nes castvania games now, I swear it has the same input lag as a nes on a crt. Fucking amazing
I'm super pissed I never took notice of the PSTV. I never realized how much it appealed to me until it was too late. Now it's way too fucking expensive, even worse now because I want the white variant which seems to be a Japan only thing so that's even more expensive in the current day. Just fuck my shit up.
I had a 3.60 Online Henkaku Vita with a ton of maidumps and vpk installed.
I recently tried to play again and it's suddenly not working anymore
I hate it and I don't want to re-hack the console, once was scary enough.
>What does overclocking do?
Serious question?
>Which games are better with it?
..all of them?
Spoonfeed me: what do I get for hacking it?
I love my Vita.
And we love you.
is snes9x the best snes emulator ?
