The trailer opening in a similar manner to Heavensward is already a good sign, user, just have faith. O7S was pretty fun as a tank. I imagine it was boring as fuck for any other job since they have next to nothing to do throughout the fight, though.

As healer the only fun thing was watching DPS get hit by rockets that move at 2mph (no joke it's pretty funny), also I'm a bit salty cuz my static dealt with the rot glitch a few times before we cleared.

The biggest positive is it's not a 2 region expansion. Stormblood splitting the story in half was completely retarded and neither side got enough attention.

I thought Door Kefka had just enough unique mechanics to justify its timer, but M&F can go fuck themselves. Admittedly, you could probably cut some of the downtime (by increasing the speed of mechanics like in the first Graven Image) in Door Kefka out and it would have felt better paced.

I had to go through recruiment hell in Sigma cuz we had a WAR tank that wanted to do the uptime ghost cheese, but he constantly couldn't pull it off and would whine if we didn't do it. So for the first month we had to boot him and go through recruitment and trials while everyone else had already moved on.

PLD is looking extremely solid, NIN is getting nothing but nice QoL and some fun abilities (though TCJ still being a massive clip is a bummer) and BLM is just going to continue to be a comfy, well-designed job.

Our healers used to swear they were fucking cursed with black hole placements so it took us awhile just to survive not from lack of DPS. Even then when we did get to Neo our NIN didn't understand the black/white wound mechanic until I swear he grew an extra brain cell.

It's probably because I cleared extremely late into the tier but I'm glad I never had GCO prog problems. The fact that it was pretty common to just let problem players stay dead during the mechanic tells me that a lot less people than I think could actually pull it off consistently.

I don't know, couple dozen hours or so? I'm really just guessing there. And that's actual hours doing the thing, so spread that across however many days you have to break it up into. Fishing might be less of a pain in the ass because you only have to move every so often when the game's anti-bot autism tells you the fish have left, but on the other hand fishing is far less profitable in general. Personally I'd say do MIN because metals tend to be a bit more expensive and if you also level BSM you can make most of your own tools and weapons.

Basically its a fight you have to win before you fight the actual boss that drops loot.

The earliest incarnation of this was in Alexander where before you could fight the first boss on Savage, you had to beat Faust, basically a hard DPS check that would wipe the group with AoE and constantly spawning adds if you didn't take it down fast enough.

Omega followed suit, but it put its doorman bosses in front of the final boss of each tier, instead of the first.

Why are Tanks allowed to have a DPS rotation but not Healers?

To fight Neo Exdeath you need to do a quick 4-5 minute fight before hand with normal Exdeath then he turns into Neo resets his health and the real fight starts. To get to God Kefka you need to fight normal Kefka who is like 5-7 minutes. And to fight Final Omega you need to fight fucking M&F Omega who is 7-8 minutes. To get to the real fight you need to get through the "door" exdeath/kefka/M&F. Everyone hates M&F cuz to get to O12S, who is fairly hard, you have to fight them every time you lock out. So every time you have to go through a fairly challenging 7-8 minute door fight that you can wipe and die and have to start over on on top of it not even being that fun to start.

In 1.0, as a white mage, you had genuine choices as to gear dependent on play style. Basic example was the artifact body piece; it came with "Enhanced Cure" which just straight up increased the potency of your cure line (cure, cura and curaga) by 10%. This was great for big flat out heals. However there was a rare body piece drop in a coffer in the garlean camp (open world beast camps were dangerous and required parties to farm coffers, another aspect I liked more in 1.0) which, while lacking enchanced cure, came with a massive +50 to enhancement magic potency (more varied and mechanically unique stats, another thing I liked more) which you couldn't find anywhere else. What this meant is that while your cure line would be lower potency, your regens and stoneskins (regen being your best HP to MP ratio spell) would heal and block for tons more, making you a more passive and MP sufficient healer

Now while that isn't a ton or anything, it was s still a genuine choice to make and far more interesting gear progression than 2.0 ever had. And don't get me wrong, 1.0 was a broken mess that needed to be canned. But if they were going to fix it I would have preferred them to actually fix it and not just make a different type of game altogether

Already using Shift+number modifiers for combo branches and other things.

That's what I'm using, it just feels awkward to me. I've got my mouse side buttons occupied as well, but I might be able to just bind a free one to ctrl for the modifier.
