Prototype, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and Spider-Man. These are open world games that understand that enjoying traversal is extremely important. I could parkour around NYC in Prototype and never get bored. There's probably a handful of others that have good traversal.

Also Dragon's Dogma, but the open world aspects of it are not at all its draw.

it's still technically an openworld game, every biome and every single planet are in the same session.

It's mainly just a sim game but exploring is a core part of science gathering

xenoblade X is great but getting the flight modual made the game too easy

dark souls? I can see Prey being a blend of linear/open worldness considering how vast it is, but soulsgame level designs are lean either heavily metroidvania or linear.

I really used to prefer single player a lot but now I'm so starved for social interaction that playing a game's story by myself for too long makes me feel sad.
