Stellaris is comfy as fuck.Make sure you get at Utopia and Distant Stars at the very minimum for DLC.

They're really fun until you realize they're fucking shit. Mods can help a little.

Hoi4 is WW2 on railroad and stellaris is just about waiting for pop to grow, both are pretty boring

Hoi4 is ass unless you’re playing multiplayer with friends. Get Darkest Hour or Hoi3 if you want a good hoi.

Stellaris is worth 100% but i would recommend getting it when its on sale. Same with the DLC

Hearts of Iron 4 is hard to learn, easy to master. Found it boring since the campaign is the same every time (because obvious reason)

I just bought hoi4 and couldn't disagree more. its pretty fucking good

People say Hoi4 is ass and it is, but it's still a game that you will enjoy for the first 300 to 400 hours before you realize you're just mindlessly drawing frontlines and watching one country eat up another.

This

This except pirate the dlc

Even though both games have been out for roughly the same time and both launched initially quite barebones, Stellaris feels like it has evolved to be the better game now. Perhaps due to it being Paradox’s newest game with no historical load on its back, Paradox has taken quite big leaps with it in patches, generally making the game better and deeper every patch. I still think that diplomacy is shallower than it should be, but overall the game works very well and is quite addictive.

Now, HoI 4 for some reason doesn’t addict me in the same way, despite I’m being a huge WWII nut. I don’t know, it just feels like most of the things they add to the game feel somewhat inconsequential, considering how the AI just isn’t that hard or interesting to fight unless you give it huge bonuses to make it hard, but it’s still not interesting. It’s the most war-focused of all Paradox’s games, and that’s also why the weak AI hits it the hardest. At least other Paradox AIs can fight in their own games with simpler combat, but with HoI the crummy AI makes the game feel repetitive, unsurprising and not that interesting to play.

I austically make my own Alt history scenarios in hoi4 with commands

Are you the OP? If so I doubt you’re having much fun in the first 14 minutes of the game.

Just bought Van Helsing: Final Cut for $4.50 and I honestly don't know where all of the hate is coming from for this title. It's a Titan Quest / Grim Dawn ARPG. If anything, it's got a bit of self-awareness to it that's been amusing so far.

Stellaris:yes
HOI4: meh

Stellaris was ruined with the redesign of economy and planet building. They are slowly turning it into the other paradox grand strat games

drawing frontlines is the only good thing about hoi iv. Fuck manually managing 400 divisions.

buy the base games, pirate the dlc

Is Stellaris' AI still completely broken and pointless to even play with?

So it finally become good then?

>ever buying Paradox DLC

Stellaris is a fantastic game if you like to really customize your empire and rp.

HOI4 is more about micro management, making complicated battle plans and getting autistic with numbers. It's not for everyone but still lots of fun to go fascist as Britain

it is and most likely will always be. Download glavius AI mod and everything is fixed

Really it is based on your playstyle. I bought it wanting a comfy space empire game with friends. After 300 hours and having all this shit get dropped on me I really wish they would have just done Stellaris 2 and left it alone. Basically not spending money on their strategy games anymore and just pirate them late in their life cycle.

No. They are good for one playthrough then you realize it's literally the same thing with a slightly different flavor on the second.

if you want to enjoy them, pirate and mod the shit out of them. even then they're barely passable.
