Unlocking the chocobo is done by advancing the main story quest to a certain point. Just leveling doesn't unlock it, but the level requirement for that quest is around 18 or 20.

Crafting is currently unknown and all we know is it'll follow a general crafter storyline separated into three or four types (ie Armorer and Blacksmith will follow roughly the same storyline). Job quests are still present, but only at level 80, and we don't know their length but it's doubtful they're short since artifact rewards are still tied to them.

The point is that Lolo had the whole thing under control. Teleji's plot was taken over by Lolo, his brass blades and crystal braves were taken over by Lolo. Lolo had the ability to censor the coup, Lolo controlled the life and death of Nanamo, Raubahn and the Scions. All he had to do was wait for Teleji to show his hand accusing the Scions for regicide and the royalists for being weak then disprove his claims to get rid of Teleji. Keep in mind that everyone knew Teleji committed treason by inciting the refugee riots and only needed evidence to fuck him over.
