What would you want in a Banjo Threeie?

What would you want in a Banjo Threeie?
Would you even want it?

I don't trust anyone to make a proper Banjo-Threeie anymore, but I just want something like Tooie but with worlds that are not quite as large, new moves, and for the story to be concluded. I always wanted Threeie to be the end of the series, to treat Banjo like a trilogy.

The only thing they can do is remake the original games. Anything else will be shit on for being too similar or too different. People have nostalgia for those games. And even then people will still shit on it because of visual changes they'll make

Give the franchise to Gears for Breakfast. If there's anyone I'd trust to make a proper sequel to an N64/Gamecube style collectathon game it's them.

name 1 remaster/remake that a majority liked and consider superior to the original

Metroid: Zero Mission

Only two of the worlds were any good, though. The fact that both DLC levels sucked and only have two good levels in the base game leads me to believe they got lucky for the two levels they got right. Banjo should just rest in peace.

64 bit polygon graphics, levels that are smaller than the ones in banjo tooie but there's a lot more of them, save music notes you collect, leave ghosts of the notes you collected so you don't get lost. Warp pads like DK64 would also be nice.

Nyakuza is a beautiful and brilliantly designed masterpiece of a level you pleb.

which of the 2 main chapters do you think are bad? I'm guessing Mafia Town and Subcon Forest? I'd admit they're a little too open-ended and don't have enough platforming focus but I'd still say they're better than the average Banjo level. and I thought the Arctic Cruise was pretty good too especially the finale and the time rifts.

Make it a platformer that isn't a copypaste of the old games. I don't trust Rare to make a collect-a-thon. A bright, fun adventure game is all I want.

>modern Rare or Microsoft or any other shitty western company
I don't, really. Just give us Rare Replay on the Switch.

most of that game was weak. had fun controls and felt good to play but the missions themselves were subpar. that parade level was embarassing.

I thought it would be exploring a cool neon city skyline, but turns out its nothing but a bunch of narrow tunnels. I agree its beautiful, but they squandered it with shitty gameplay.

Mafia Town and Forest are the two I really liked. The Bird stage was shit absolute dog shit, and Alpine level is just a couple of small secluded areas connected by rail (but at least it just let you explore). The boss level is also forgettable.

Personally, I'd like to see a new villain. Mainly because of Grunty's deterioration. After the first game, she was reduced to a skeleton, and then a head in N&B. Not sure how much farther they could push it without making her a ghost. A new baddie could keep things fresh for the bear. Even Mario had to go up against Wart one time.

It would hopefully be a Switch game because Xboners don't even want it. Not sure if that's possible though.

A return to the original art style. Maybe get Playtonic to make it instead of nu-Rare.

Actually they already made her a ghost in Grunty's Revenge

I'd trust The Hat in Time devs or Playtonic to make a proper Threeie.
>inb4 Yooka-Laylee was bad bots
Yooka-Laylee had problems, but it was a solid game overall. Making a handful of new moves for existing characters would prove easier than having to make entirely new movesets and abilities for new characters, and with the time they save having to make characters from scratch, they could focus on the other weak point YL, the levels. They just weren't as interesting or thought out as the levels in Kazooie + Tooie. Honestly, they should just borrow a level designer from AHiT

With how cozy microsoft and nintendo are now, I could see them releasing it on xbone and switch.

Honestly no. I don’t see them being able to truly do it after Yooka.

They just need to fully remake Kazooie and tooie, which was obviously unfinished. They need to add a world or actually make the cauldron or whatever the fuck it was a full world. (Grunts lair? Can’t remember)
AND FFS FIX TOOTYS STORY

make banjo's sister Tooty the new villain with her being pissed that banjo forgot about her completely when she went missing in BT

I'd literally just want a team that is forced to play through Kazooie and Tooie again to get a pure feel for those exact games again, and make something nearly identical with new levels in the same style (open, mainly for exploration, but not so open without anything to do. Think level size slightly larger than Kazooie, but definitely smaller than Tooie.

I really wish she'd return to having green skin. Maybe she could use her machine to zap beauty from others and reclaim her old look.

Also she has to ryhme her words again.

Based. Tooty becoming a villain is actually a really good idea considering how her character ended up.

The Death Wish challenge mode definitely fixes the problem of missions being too easy. I highly recommend going back to the game for that if that was your only complaint. The Death Wish version of that parade level in particular is brutal as hell.

oh well that's the exact opposite of my tastes lol. I prefer the more tightly designed linear focus of Battle of the Birds, Alpine Skyline, and Nyakuza Metro over the other more open world levels.

But I still think you're underselling the game a lot. Even in the linear levels there's a lot of exploration to be had if you go out of your way to find all the relics, rift tokens, and other optional stuff. The collectables in this game are very optional and they mostly only unlock cosmetics, but I have a lot of fun just searching for all of them while taking my time with the missions. It really does scratch that exact same collectathon itch for me that Banjo-Kazooie did back then, while also having superior platforming mechanics and level design.

Did she canonically go missing? I knew she wasn't in Tooie

sort of canon, there were missing posters and most notably a giant milk carton had her labelled as missing on it but these were done just as gags. I still think it could be funny to bring her back as a villain, though, and it'd fit with old rare's sense of humour.

Probably the main thing that Yooka lacked: strong charming characterization. Everybody besides YL and Trowzer looked fucking ugly, and those gremlins also got old fast. And don't even get me started on N&B's misguided direction either, outside maybe the idea of a populated hub world.

A Banjo-Threeie needs to double-down on the little things, like Banjo and Kazooie's dichotomy, or how they interact with the world's characters. Characters should have personalities that make you want to see them again, but also fulfill a purpose in the game's world. Worlds themselves should also take notes from how 3D Mario packs its content around every corner of its levels, instead of focusing entirely on bloat and scale. But overall make the sensation of exploration and advancing forward a thrill.

One thing I'd like in a Banjo Threeie is to take heavy notes from Super Mario Odessey and A Hat In Time.
Both games give a proper reintroduction to 3D Collectatthons reminiscent of the N64 era. They do a good job at even expanding the concept of a collectathon, and taking every potential to its absolute advantage.
Both games can be used as tempelate for a New Banjo Kazooie game. And design wise, ditch the Nuts and Bolts bit entirely and go ahead with a more modern design that would still be stylistically similar to the OG N64 game designs. And mabey give the series a new villain that would work alongside Gruntilda to keep it fresh.
I just want a new modern good game available for my Switch with Banjo Kazooie in it.

I get the feeling she'll turn up as some surprise (and aged-up) character if a sequel happens, maybe like some brainwashed secondary villian dressed in a mask and cloak.

Tooty is back.
Except she's now the main Big Bad instead of Grunty. Plotting her revenge against Banjo and Kazooie and really only using Gruntilda as a pawn to carry out her scheme this time around.
Its the only real way her character can continue if you ask me, plus it'd be a really subversibe twist.

Crash and Resident Evil. You cannot reply to this post because I am objectively right and nostalgia is making you biased

I don’t think crash but Resident Evil is my favorite game ever, based

>transdelusional supporting dev
No. Also their character writing is awful and autistic disconnected to how people act

I'd be up for some full remakes of Kazooie and Tooie. It would be a good chance to polish up the frame rate, tighten the controls, and finish Bottle's Revenge because it sounds badass.

I would like Threeie but I'm afraid they'd fuck it up.

crash remake objectively has worse framerate and controls to the originals

Of fucking course nigger.
Bring back Banjo's imouto and she's now under mind control spell and wants to become a witch.

I'd rather them keep on A Hat in Time 2 whenever that gets made, the style and character is comparable to Banjo but the gameplay is way more Mario

They're not mature/competent enough to make a game of that quality.

>What would you want in a Banjo Threeie?
Unironically just more of the same

>Would you even want it?
Hell yeah

It can stay mostly the same, but leverage the high processing power of the xbox to make a massive game
