That's a based from me.

Yup... Smells like based.

gogchads report in

Thanks Larian for releasing a DRM-free option.

is it just me or is it really based in here?

Honestly I won’t buy it now. I can’t believe Steam is falling for the forced exclusivity thing instead of giving everyone a chance to compete fair and square.

Fucking based

>its on GOG and Steam
>AND stadia
>exclusive
youre retarded

Can you at least be honest and just say thank you Larian for letting me pirate on day 1

It's on GOG.com, DRM-free. I don't know if it will be DRM-free in other stores (like I would like), but that's a start.

The B in Baldur stands for BASED.

But I thought exclusives were bad?

Obsidianfags are absolutely SEETHING right now

DRM isn't worth shit.

It's not an exclusive? It's on gog and steam.

based, fuck epic

Gog, Stadia and Steam.
It's not an exclusive if it's coming out on more than one store.

Ahahaha fuck Epic. Now releasing your game on Epic is bad for business even if it's not exclusive

>It's not an exclusive if it's coming out on more than one store.
Borderlands 3 isn't an exclusive then since it's on GreenManGaming and Humble Store too, right?

They're selling Epic Keys you absolute retard

That user made a mistake. Meant to say it's not an exclusive if it's coming out on more than one client/platform/launcher.

>when a brainlet tries to defend his corporate masters

Thanks.

So it happens with a lot of games that are only sold as Steam keys.

Attached: brainlet.png (190x266, 5K)

>So it happens with a lot of games that are only sold as Steam keys.
Valve isn't bribing anyone for that to happen.

>on GOG
Nice, this is what I wanna see. Fuck Epic and fuck Steam too.

steam cucks are just massive incels

get baited retards

Larian have only recently received the adulation of the populace after being around for years and years
They're not going to piss away all the good-will since they finally made it bros
>If you see a man named Sweeney, RUN!

>forced exclusivity
>on 3 stores
fuck off tim

Attached: steam vs epic.png (1268x1257, 268K)

fucking based, ordered 1 and 2 right now

Attached: 1489647399438.png (513x1117, 934K)

You just gave money to Beamdog.

fuck yeah

Attached: 1525438784387.gif (400x279, 1.75M)

that' a no buy from me

Monster Hunter: World requires Steam in all of those stores.

lmao did the fortnite money spring dry up?

We all understand that the reason it isn’t on EGS as well is because Sweeney is pouting, right? If a game goes to Steam he doesn’t want it. That’s his threat; either don’t put it on Steam or you can’t put it on here.

the difference is steam didn't pay for exclusivity for the game

Exlain bloodlines 2 then.

I guess you could call this game an Epic-exclusive

Attached: hue.jpg (600x600, 35K)

>valve makes precisely 0 out of it
>still has all steam's features

Looks fine to me

Nah, I'm thinking because of Epic Mega Sale fiasco, publishers realized that Epic is incompetent so they won't put their games there

Attached: Capture.png (873x501, 52K)

I can’t, except to suggest that maybe Sweeney didn’t extend them the exclusivity offer only to have them deny it.

>That’s his threat; either don’t put it on Steam or you can’t put it on here.
7 Billion Humans (GOG.com, Steam, itch.io, Mac App Store).
Afterparty (Steam).
World of Goo (GOG.com, Humble Widget, Steam, Mac App Store).

Larian is BASED. If BG3 is good, that's another purchase from me

That's literally the same case with the Epic keys on Humble Store and GreenManGaming.

This. They're beyond retarded.

It's on steam and doesn't have Denuvo as far as we know so far so it's not a piracy issue. You can pirate steam DRM games almost as easily gog games

Whatever works. Epic is doing exactly the worst possible thing for PC gaming and it makes me sick. Whatever it takes for companies to tell them to fuck off is fine by me.

>That's literally the same case with the Epic keys on Humble Store and GreenManGaming.
>no free key generation like steam
>keys only sold by select partners instead of anyone
>prices match the epic store suggesting they set them

Uh-huh.

>open to as many players as possible
so it's not on the epic store cause there are no players there

I know that it's called BG3. But how connected to BG1&2 can it really be?
I am super excited for this though.

drm means absolutely nothing outside of banter wth piratefags on Yea Forums, all pirates did when Denuvo was a thing was wait while playing other games

come on user, clearly the fortnite audience has HUGE interest in crpgs

You never mentioned any of that shit before.
>no free key generation like steam
[citation needed]

What the fuck how do we save Epic bros?

They were supposed to SAVE PC gaming so it's our duty as PC gamers to keep them alive. More and more greedy publishers are trying to fuck them over.

So does stadia counts a gaming platform? since you know, its more like a service or some shit

youtube.com/watch?v=OcP0WdH7rTs

Post yfw larian is gonna make baldurs great again

>steam and gog
n-no bros i thought steam has a monopoly noooooo

I'm getting increasingly convinced that Steam, GOG, and Microsoft are all actually working together to screw over the EGS.
Why is this allowed?

dude, what if Epic stopped being twice as greedy other stores are? that would help, they could also stop being fucking retarded

If that would be the case, then CDPR and Valve would sell games on the Microsoft Store and Microsoft would sell games on GOG.com too.

we need to post our money to tim sweeney right fucking now

It's a steamworks feature, show me where they do support it.

>Epic won’t receive any revenue share from the sales of those games purchased through Humble Store, the company said.
variety.com/2019/gaming/news/epic-game-store-exclusives-coming-to-humble-store-1203167834/

I don't think thats how illythids are made.

>merely pretending

Gog is negligible and dying anyway, Steam is a quasi monopoly, but you won't get the drones to admit it anyway.

>Valve
>Microsoft
>CDPR
All we need is EA and Activison and Tim is done.

If it's dying, why does Epic bother to release their older catalog there?

That's not free key generation, I already mentioned epic only allow partners to sell their games. A dev on steam can generate keys and do whatever they want with them.

Ea already has it's own store and Activision is trying to turn the blizzapp their own store

You should have specified it was libre or gratis.

Doesn't steam sell more epic games than epic themselves? I know all the UT except 4(RIP) are on steam.

Yeah, GamersGate too. And the best thing is that they sell them as Steam keys (with exception of UT2004).

You are a faggot

Attached: 1510556790468.jpg (640x640, 72K)

Will likely buy to support anti kike practices

>Skipping the hottest store on the market to appeal to some decrepit boomers
It's their funeral.

>needing zoomers
>WANTING zoomers

both their fanbase and the staff that work at Larian are all decrepit boomers

>GOG
Thank goodness, I want to own my games.

That is actually how they are made.

It is, actually. Mind flayers shit out eggs which hatch "tadpoles" once in a while and when those are matured they stick em into the heads of humanoids at which point they'll eat their brains and take over.

Tim didn't deserve this. Epic gave us UT and the most influential engine in the industry.

tfw no illithid gf

and if they let them marinade to long without implanting they turn into octopus abominations that hunt other mindflayers

RELEASE DATE WHEN???? I DONT CARE ABOUT FUCKING STORE OR LAUNCHER

So quick rundown. Enhanced Edition of BG2 worth it? I still have the OG BG2 on my PC somewhere, I just would have to reinstall it.

Even taking down the exclusivity stuff, their store is a mess in security and features. It's so shit that they can't add their older games without screwing up the schedule. A developer store made with BlueSnap, FastSpring, Digital River, Humble Widget and BMT Micro is way more competent than Epic Games Store.

Inb4 bugmen steal it, change only the title, host it on Epic store andd pay millions to streamers to shill their "new" Epic store exclusive

Hard pass.

Thanks

As long as it's GOG, I'm fine with it any other way. Games need to be DRM free, so we don't lose them like with Telltale's "games".

>hurr durr you just want to pirate
Yeah, thank you for reducing the issue to a black and white mentality. It certainly has nothing to do with literally losing a product you paid for, despite it not suffering from the decay that a physical copy would.

What I don't get is why they didn't just make a new game series with a Forgotten Realms license if they really wanted that. Instead of making a game that uses the title of an old series even though it has zilch to do with it. Not the company nor the game is actually a 3rd installment of the series. It already concluded when the protagonist basically rubs shoulders with the gods.

Maybe Larian will make a good game but calling it Baldur's Gate III is an obvious cash grab. I can just imagine the Hasbro execs plotting it "yes lets call it Baldur's Gate III, consumers love Baldurs and Gates, please put lots of gates in it"
Obsidian had nothing to do with the originals and Black Isle was only the publisher. Bioware made the BG series but everyone involved has moved on or went to Beamdog.

Not always GOG has the only DRM-free version, not always all DRM-free builds are on GOG.com. Cases in point, KIDS, Undertale (pre-GOG release) and that weeb Wizardry game.

yes that's what this board is for

>not in infinity engine
lmao did anyone actually expect it would be? It's over 20 years old by now

>Maybe Larian will make a good game but calling it Baldur's Gate III is an obvious cash grab. I can just imagine the Hasbro execs plotting it "yes lets call it Baldur's Gate III, consumers love Baldurs and Gates, please put lots of gates in it"
There's nothing wrong with cashing in if it's a good game. There job is to make and sell game. But also, you are discounting the fact that we really don't know how much this game will be influenced by the previous two titles and expansion.

How can Steam still win doing absolute fucking nothing???

>I'm thinking because of Epic Mega Sale fiasco
I never understood this. It's just a sale and publishers are the ones to make the prices and even allow the discount on their games.

>uncut
what is with this site and its circumcision obsession?
Both ways are perfectly normal, stop bringing it up all the time

>Baldur's Gate 3 timeline
Talked about some in another thread, but Swen confirmed this takes place after the upcoming Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus module, so it's more than "100 years" after the original game, also making it take place after "Murder in Baldur's Gate" (which means Charname is dead at this point)

Because some of them weren't notified, they couldn't opt out without hiding the game and the epic 10 bucks discount applied to preorders as well.

>even allow the discount on their games.
Except that the only guy in Epic that is in charge of the store said that he "thought" he had permission from ALL publishers. Turns out Epic didn't. Quantic Dream and Vblank probably didn't gave a fuck, but it really pissed off 2K, Paradox and Klei.

Imagine being Beamdog right about now.
Like seriously. Imagine spending your entire career updating the Infinity Engine games, playing them repeatedly and gradually coming to learn their very code off by heart. Imagine slowly falling in love with the crpg genre and it's intricacies as you play, replay and dissect all the classics over and over again until each and ever facet of their gameplay is emblazoned upon your very soul. Imagine daring to dream of crafting your own masterpiece one day; a continuation to the legendary saga of Baldur's Gate. Just imagine the burgeoning hope you'd feel as the Enhanced Editions of BG 1 and 2 began to draw in a profit and a third entry began to eke its way from the realms of impossibility into reality. Imagine thinking about how you'd make it your magnum opus - your baby. You'd pour every ounce of your passion into it and slave away until it was a flawless gem of crpg perfection loved by all.
Imagine all that hope, all that raging desire, dashed by a gang of fucking waffle men from Belgium.
Just imagine...

Beamdog ruined Baldur's Gate with SJW shit. They can fuck off.

Bullshit it has nothing to do with the old games or the era of infinity engine. The company isn't the same, it's different people, it's not even in the same country, not even the same continent.

Every time a completely different team that was uninvolved with the original of any IP takes over a sequel they always talk about reassuring the fans. They talk about keeping iconic things and making references to the old product. It's always superficial crap.

the story of the BG series ended almost 20 years ago.

The only reason they don't name it after a different FR city like Waterdeep is because they're using a name license for the BG series. It's a completely cynical marketing move. The game might be good though but it's not a BG game.

You know their coders and other staff made the first games right?

>SoD
nah, they're trash

cringe, the only good Enhanced Edition was Planescape, and it was literally just QoL improvements (probably because Avellone was with them).

Passion doesn't equate to talent, and their forced politics and unskippable cutscenes for donutOCs ruined their reputation among the hardcore fanbase anyway.

You can bank on generalisms all you want, but that won't make you right. It's certainly a good guess, but that's as far as it goes.
If they make a good game, I don't care if they are "cashing in."

I've never played Baldur's Gate before. Will I need to play the first two games to understand this?

Have sex.

unbased

Play the first two anyway, they're great. Especially 2.

You don't necessrarily NEED to play the first to get the second. So no, the story for BG1 and BG2 is complete. At most you might miss some context or background.

HOWEVER, you really should play BG1 and 2, they are great rpgs/games.

ready and waiting

Attached: 1532987368534.png (469x585, 320K)

>Will I need to play the first two games to understand this?
Considering it takes place well over 100 years after BG2, probably not, but it's likely to be full of references and gags relating to the originals. Expect golden clothing, a miniature giant space hamster, and references to party members. Likely even meeting some of the elves.

I'm right because I'm right not because of generalisms. The story ended, the people who made it moved on, all that is left 20 years later is the series title. That makes me 100% right and you 100% ignorant and hoping somehow they magically inherit a non existent spirit of a series that already concluded.

They probably will make a good game but calling it BG III is pointless bullshit except for cynical marketing.

Considering that the two games concluded on a pretty FINAL note you don't need to play them to play this.

Baldur's Gate is a city on Sword Coast user.

There's no meat to anything you're posting, it's just angry noise.

>So it happens with a lot of games that are only sold as Steam keys.

And GOG doesn't give you a Steam key, your comparison is garbage.

>that horrible Flaming Fist decal on the soldier's armor making him look like a fucking superbowl mascot
>people turning into mind flayers for SOME reason ?
>makes the game look like a generic "take back jerusalem" kinda game when Baldur is a well known corrupt shithole that would be probably be improved by being razed
just seems like a brainlet version of the franchise desu, on the level of Dark Alliance

I SERVE THE FLAMING FIST

Ok?

>>people turning into mind flayers for SOME reason ?
That's literally how Illithids reproduce, and it's also why you get non-humanoid Illithid knock-offs from time to time.

>"take back jerusalem"
what?

The brainlet is you unfortunately user.

That's the point. Pick a different city and make a good game, it's not that hard.
It's all meat, you're just waffling on. There's 0% relation between this and the old series. You're just ignoring it and might as well be posting "la la la la I can't hear you la la la la" because you don't want to admit it's completely unrelated.

>There's 0% relation between this and the old series

Attached: 1458317317989.jpg (690x720, 132K)

Yeah, exclusively not on the EGS.

It's on GamersGate, Humble Store, GreenManGaming, Playism, FireFlower Games, Itch.io, Origin and Microsoft Store?

Based

Everybody get up, it's time to slam now
We got a real jam goin' down
Welcome to the BASED Jam

Not it isn't how illithids reproduce but it was probably presented like that because it's far more dramatic for a teaser.
>Illithids are hermaphroditic creatures who each spawn a mass of larvae two or three times in their life. The larvae resemble miniature illithid heads or four-tentacled tadpoles. Larvae are left to develop in the pool of the Elder Brain. The ones that survive after 10 years are inserted into the brain of a sapient creature. Hosts are determined in a very specific manner. Hosts generally are humanoid creatures that are between 5 feet 4 inches and 6 feet 2 inches. The most desirable of races for hosts are Humans, Drow, Elves, Githzerai, Githyanki , Grimlocks, Gnolls, Goblinoids, and Orcs. Upon being implanted (through the ear canal), the larva then grows and consumes the host's brain, absorbing the host's physical form entirely and becoming sapient itself, a physically mature (but mentally young) Illithid. This process is called ceremorphosis. Illithids often experiment with non-humanoid hosts, but ceremorphosis involving other creatures usually fails, killing both host and larva. The transformation between the host (almost always a human or similar humanoid, such as an elf or dwarf) takes about a week, unless detected and removed within about thirty minutes of injection into the incapacitated host.
>guy walks around and then suddenly transforms with a squid head bursting out from his skull, the process takes less than a minute

Redpill me on d&d 5th

Why the fuck is a BG game being made by a non-bioware company?

Look you're the one getting exciting about the continuation of a series that is irrefutably finished 20 years ago. Made by people completely uninvolved with the original.

it's shit

>Wanting modern bioware to do anything

Attached: 1381272002005.gif (800x399, 34K)

BASED

gamers are finally rising up against the chink menace

I don't want any of the modern fag companies to make anything related to BG.

Did bioware sell the license or what?

Dumbed down version of D&D that markets itself as the rules don't matter edition where you just make toilet jokes and worship E list celebrities.

Dude bioware hasnt been a competent company for like 15 years now why would you ever want them to make BG3?

>Look you're the one getting exciting about the continuation of a series that is irrefutably finished 20 years ago
Well now you are just assuming things. You know what they say about assuming.

Attached: 1500837730838.jpg (500x285, 32K)

I don't, I just don't understand why they're not the ones making it.
I'm not endorsing Bioware, I'm asking why another company is making a BG game.

They never owned the license. Wizards of the Coast are the owners of any D&D-derived game.

Because their recent list of works is a marketing liability

Pure virtue signalling
>don't worry gamers, we're not supporting those anti-consumer chuds at the Epic Games Store
>o-oh stadia? don't worry about that haha not anti-consumer at all

Do you know what "exclusives" mean?

Interesting and possibly based.

>baldurs gate 3
>not obshitian
>not incelile
>not beamniggers
>but based larianchads

when did i miss this stellar news?

Attached: 1509917695537.jpg (250x233, 4K)

You have a very good point.

I don't care if they go multiplat. I hate Epic because of exclusive deals.

>
Steam never did exclusivity deals

>multiplat
You're misunderstanding the point. Stadia poses just as much of an anti-consumer threat as the EGS, yet they happily support it while denouncing the EGS solely because they know they can gain cred for doing so.

I think their lack of support for Epic has less to do with their anti-consumer ways and more to do with the fact that Epic has burned just about every possible bridge and nearly everyone hates them.

>Stadia poses just as much of an anti-consumer threat as the EGS
I would say it's even worse. At least with EGS you can keep the files.

I think people are less worried about Stadia because it seems like a giant pile of shit.

And Epic isn't?

Assuming the truth maybe. The guy who owns this character sheet is currently coding a graphics engine for NWN EE in Canada. Most of the rest either quit game development or went to Beamdog which was created by one of the Bioware founders Trent Oster. All of the quirks to the series were based around their office jokes and shenanigans and their games of D&D.

As for the story the protagonist literally becomes like a demigod over a hundred years ago from current date FR. It's over, finished, move on.

You literally have to imagine an alternative reality to think the old series and this new game are related.

Attached: 6cogaqm0sa4t.jpg (1536x2048, 2.07M)

Well the first guy had already denounced Epic so I didn't feel it was worth mentioning again.

>You literally have to imagine an alternative reality to think the old series and this new game are related.
Man you are so melodramatics.

Things I'm optimistic about/excited about:
>Possibility of a new good CRPG
>Possibility of a good 5e Vidya
Things that would be nice:
>BG3 universe/background is shaped by the previous games.

All your statements are just so overblown with absolute and dramatic statements, I can't take them seriously.

Attached: Sword Coast Grid.png (867x1400, 3.1M)

>implying Bioware isn't a "modern fag company" nowadays
Where the fuck have you been hiding in the last decade? It better be comfy.

Attached: 1539527325313.png (259x345, 70K)

Give it a few months then it will be on epic.

You're just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point and haven't made any points, have fun.
