Why is this autistic looking girl so frequently posted on this board?
She is from a 20 year old ancient cartoon, right?

Because Yea Forums is just Yea Forums but with video games
It's an anime called Serial Experiments Lain. It's about a girl in a cyberpunk world that goes off the rails and "becomes god"
It's a coveted anime. There's an entire website called lainchan dedicated to it.
She's also got a game.
Anime isn't cartoon you dumb zoomer.
>game
It doesn't have gameplay
are you retarded?
cuz she looks like the girl i had a crush on and I love her
Anime is meant for the Japanese origin animation but cartoon is the Western.
Anybody on Yea Forums watching Kino Clover?
She's cute.
because she is our girl
eternal internet loli succubus
Why does Abe's art never get old?
Think how most of the anime artstyle look lame when they are looked back 20 years later.
And you don't seem to understand.
His parents didn't let him watch anime/read manga when he was a kid, so the artstyle he developed wasn't derivative of the times.
Let's all love Lain
youtube.com
I don’t get the series, should rewatch it. I only remember and teenager fingering
>in 2019
>Misaki is still not coming
She's also from a 20 year old ancient game that actually came out first.
She was too pure for this world.
anime is just nip cartoons
Serial Experiments Lain is a combination of autism, anime and internet so of course Yea Forums would like it.
It takes a rewatch to kinda get what the fuck was going on but its level of "depth" is a bit blown out of proportion. If you enjoyed the first watch I'd say rewatch it, if not dont bother.
I loved it but felt like they really phoned it in at the end
It has a distinctive "melancholic" touch to it I guess is the best way I can describe it, which makes it more timeless than something traditional out of a particular decade.
I don't think she get's posted particularly frequently, but she is from an anime that was in many ways fucking PROPHETIC about it's portreyal of internet and it's impact on human personality, so I guess a lot of people think of it as fitting for now.
AND YOU DONT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND
I'm surprised texhnolyze isn't nearly as popular as lain or even haibane renmei
posting little anime girls is Yea Forums culture, what's the problem?
How is it prophetic? Wasn't the internet in Lain portrayed to eventually become humanity's next step of evolution or something like that? instead it became our most beloved tool to drop down a few IQ points on average and didn't contribute to humanity's advancement in any meaningful way
Again, neither of them have managed to say something quite as relevant. I do fucking adore Haibane though, at least the first two thirds of it. It does completely go to shit in the last few episodes, it really shows that Abe had absolutely no clue where he was going with it.
The first episode puts a LOT of people off.
Then after Yoshi dies, the show meanders for a bit before it reaches its brilliant ending.
>didn't contribute to humanity's advancement in any meaningful way
you're a blind nigger if you can't recognize the profound ongoing impact that a global shared dialogue has established
Pretty much the entire show isn't so much about any kind of specific plot, as it is about dissolution of personality when faced with information overload: it's about what internet does to people. And in that, it is absolutely amazing.
>Despera never
>think how most of the anime artstyle look lame when they are looked back 20 years later.
Not only him but there are talented artists with a timeless art value in every generation.
What are top mid and the 3 on the right?
What literally happens isn't really the point, it's meant to be interpreted. Like how Instrumentality and AT Fields in Evangelion are distinct concepts in-story but they're used as an allegory for the issues that separate people and how we deal with them.
Lain is all about how the internet affects our personal relationships, sense of identity, and society as a whole.
>it reaches its brilliant ending
Yeah, no. I bought that garbage on individual DVDs as it came out. I just tossed the show on eBay for $20 after finishing it. If eBay wasn't there it would've been tossed in a garbage can
Yes but I'm only at like episode 60, the manga is much better.
Fair enough, I can accept this interpretation of the show a lot better. I still disagree on the "prophetic" part but it still rings as true nowadays as it did 20 years ago.
Top mid is boogiepop phantom, bottom right might be range murata.
What were we all supposed to do with Lain again? Lick? Lust?
stfu zoomer
Computer god
Love. You degenerate
Lain was good, but Haibane Renmei and Texhnolyze were both better.
I'd say the themes: constant derealization and dissonance seeping from the internet into the reality, paranoia, communication breakdown hitting all the way to the core and affecting even structures as family, dissolution of privacy and invasion of privacy, identity crisis and identity theft privacy invasion, information-overload induced hoaxes and absurd distractions and re-emergence of messianism are all subjects that were addressed and stressed out waaaaay ahead of it's time and with quite remarkable accuracy. Plus: the show deserves a special fucking credit for telling that through the very form of it, rather than merely through plot: Every single aspect of it - the coloring schemes and pallets, sound design and music, plot progression (or lack of there-off), constant contradictions etc... all constantly communicate all of these themes (or most of them) at all time.
To me S. E. Lain was quite a painful experience in the sense that I almost forced myself through it, but it is quite a remarkable show and the fact that people are turning to it today absolutely does not surprise me.
lithe, feeling Lain's lithe, slender body
Eh.
Lain isn't fun to watch. But it's great in just systematic and creative in conveying it's message it is.
Haibane Renmei has an amazing world and amazing setup, but it ultimately massively falls apart because it's frankly more like someone trying to make sense and proper story-arch out of a dream.
I don't know about Texhnolyze beyond the fact that it reminded me a little of blame, the early parts of the show were really fucking boring. I guess I will give it a second chance sometime. I need to brush up on my japanese anyway.
I want to secretly cum in lains bear pajamas before she puts them on
I don't know, she's cute.
i want to fap on lain
Because she's the best
based
This thread smells boomer.
