I've been a little upset the last few roaterfag threads. Looking at the near-unanimous hate toward Stinky Steve made me worry that literaly everyone would soon forget what he really stood for, and I'd wind up being the last person to remember the good ol' days.

Too bad it's not worth modding Smash and getting my Switch banned from online play. Smash online is absolute garbage but there are other online games on Switch.

Personally i really like the steve model because it's basically become the Smash Bros fandoms villain underdog, a meme that only people around the Smash inside circles will know or understand. Its stupid, its fun to make fun of, and it genuinely creeps people out. Like it or not he's the perfect mascot for Smash Leaks

With a good enough set of easily defeated but vaguely believable arguments (like how Nintendo is getting into movies with Mario as we speak, or how Shrek has several PS2 titles), people will fall for anything. With enough dedication, I hope it ends up teaching rosterfags a lesson about delusion, but it'll probably just be mindless entertainment in the end. I guarantee you it won't have the same impact. People will take you about as seriously as they do Spongeposters. The reason Steve was so effective at getting (You)s was because he actually had all the credentials necessary to cuck their never-ever picks and has an actual fan-base autistic enough to believably argue for his inclusion, making it hard to discern between trolls and genuine support.

I'll spend the next month or two considering something that would do what Steve did but hopefully feel much more obvious in hindsight, so people who keep falling for this shit feel stupid enough to maybe think more critically next time.
