For information, this is the RTX mod that was available before, picked up by a proper NVidia development team.
They got permission to use a community texture pack as base for modified RTX compatible textures and material rendering.
There's also some new models like the shiny super shotgun and an optimized ray tracing/denoising algorithm.
It's free but if you want to play the whole game you need the original Quake 2 game files.

this is fake raytraced garbage though. they did a real raytrace which looked good "under" a lot of noise. the problem is, in raytracing to get rid of the noise you have to do 100 or 10000 times more rays for each pixel, i.e. you need at least 1000x the power that we have (the noisy demo was at the limit of gpus). So they said fuck it lets go back to the usual "faked" lighting methods but say it's the evolution of our raytraced demo
