It’s fun to keep G. Dragon for last nad kill him in 2 hits

>tfw passed blightown the first time I was ever there by running as fast as I could
The worst part was the fps.

I never saw fps problems there and I was on a switch.

It’s a PS3 meme

>to intelligent
too intelligent. Man your retarded.

>TOXIC

Switch is remaster which runs better. Blighttown on an xbox 360 or PS3 was cancer.
Actually a really good area without those issues.

This is the only way to play, the sewers is the most unfun thing in the game and the gaping dragon is such a bitch that it's not worth the time

>most unfun thing in the game

Pretty certain that honor belongs to the Great Hollow.

Are there any items worth a fuck in blighttown?

IIRC there is the ninja set and one of those katanas

IDK, Depths was much better than blighttown for me.

you can farm for Large and Green titanite shards form the slugs down there if you want to upgrade early

Best curse resistance set, Iaito, earliest great shield, and green titanite shards.

>He skipped Blightown
You missed her user

lower blighttown doesn't count, you have to go through there

>to intelligent

You are like a little baby
Watch this:
>Pick Deprived and Pendant
>Upon entering Firelink make a mad dash for the Catacombs
>Evade the fuck out of the skeletons, rushing for the bridge switches
>Reach the inner catacombs
>Collect the 3 Eyes of Death behind the Titanite Demon
>Use the empty casket to enter Nito's lair
>Become a Gravelord Servant
>Get the motherfuckin Gravelord Sword, which inflicts fuckin toxic damage
>Return to Firelink to start the game properly and start poking everything to death

Shiva of the East will sell you Dex stuff if you're in the Forest Hunter Covenant, there's the Iaito towards the Depths entrance, Quelana is at the bottom for Pyromancy funtimes, and there's a Fire Keeper Soul in the aqueducts section.

>Bandit/Master Key
>Zweihander
>Pinwheel early
>Get to vamos
>fire zwei +1
>run up through garden, get grass crest
>kill gargoyles, havel and lautrec
>blighttown skip (farm green titties)
>summon mildred for spiderwoman

>Titanite Demon jumps in a small corridor
>Can't evade
>Can't block without stupid as fuck poise
>Instakills you
I hate these fucks

Blighttown is my favorite part of the game. Something about the sheer hostility of the environment is really fun.

As much as it isn't for other people, the Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith are my favorites. I love the archtree/chaos flame theme, and it feels fun to see old friends Capra and Taurus again as I delve deeper and deeper, as well as see Solaire and Sigmeiyer delve down with you.

>that music
>that water
>those trees
>that feel
Nothing beats the Ash Lake.

Attached: medium.jpg (500x230, 36K)

I'd agree with you, if there was anything to do there. You get a rematch with the Hydra, some clams, a tree detour, and then the Everlasting Dragon for its Covenant, and the final Sigmeiyer quest. It's scenic, but not much else.

Anyone else feel overwhelming anxiety when they think about starting a new playthrough

Aesthetically I really like those too. The combination of trees and fire is strange and counterintuitive, not something you would usually think to put together, that combined with the ruins themselves make it one of the more interesting areas when it comes to trying to puzzle out the lore of the setting, it is just a shame there isn't all that much to do there.

>this thread
God damn I love DS1

>not sitting there for 19 hours just listening to the music and watching the waves

yup. replayed demons souls and stopped after killing all bosses except allant. thought about replaying souls next, but I have the whole playthrough in my head, so I can also sit down, go through in mind, and stop when thinking about shit like valley rush and farming for black knight halberd. I did it far too often...

>your
And now there are two...

Fucking CUNTS

Attached: Bonewheel_skeleton2.jpg (291x411, 190K)

Never. Played so much dark souls I can do it in my sleep. Everything can become a joke if you know how.

Just DIE GODDAMN YOU

The Rian Johnson of enemies

>homing soulmass
>never worry about them again

>Homing Soulmass
>Not Pursuers

Those are cool but by the time in the game you have them bonewheels shouldn't be much of a problem anyway.

Power Within.

Have you guys ever started a run, kick ass and as soon as you get to anor londo lose steam cause you know there's only frustration beyond that?

>not making Havel kill himself by consistently falling from top of the stairs and ignore Taurus
Low IQ.

Chaos witch says hi.

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU PLAYING THE SWITCH VERSION

Honestly the Bed of Chaos isn't so bad once you know what you're doing. It's awful on a blind run because of seemingly-random appearing pitfalls, but once you learn to take the platforming slow and bait the Bed's sweeps and smashes you can reach the daughters and the Witch herself fairly easily.

I don't know if this is contrarian, but sen's fortress is my favorite area since I think it has the most layered and detailed level design besides maybe the painted world.

Naw, because clearing Anor Londo means I get to go to Oolacile and fight Artorias and Manus, and I love those two fights.

worst enemy in the game on my first playthrough, I can still here the 'CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG.

It's portable and comfy for bedtime play.

There's way too much area for your slow walking speed to travers imo. The whole thing feels very beta, or something you'd see out of the modding community which I guess has its charms, but it's mostly agreed to be the worst area for a reason.

There's the crimson robes, my personal favorite.

Gravelord is garbage, shit scaling

I didn't really have much of a problem with the hiking there, since it goes
>Ceaseless Discharge
>Kill the first Capra and pick off the Tauruses guarding the Chaos Ember
>Travel down and kill Capras and Tauruses
>Fight the Firesage asshole
>Delve down and fight the Centipede Demon
>Then the big hike to the temple, with two respites to aggro Bounding Demons so they can kill each other
>Short run from the last bonfire to the temple, which is chock-full of enemies and these weird-ass fuckin' things
>Last daughter fight and a Kirk battle
>Then the boss door is right there
It's nowhere near the sheer dullness that is Ash Lake once you're actually trying to reach the end.

Okay so I beat Dark Souls about a month ago, and then decided to play Bloodborne again since it had been a few years and I wasn't able to beat it the first go through. Holy shit Bloodborne is leagues harder than Dark Souls 1: it's so damn fast that I can't react, you get pot-shotted constantly and attacking groups of enemies is just asking for a quick death, the checkpoints between blood-starved beast and hunter's town aren't there, blood vials don't restore upon death so you have to grind. I honestly find it a headache to play. Does it get easier once you understand it or do I suck?

To this day even on my first blind playthrough I shit you not I didn't die to Carpe demon or bed of chaos.(both of them I did the same thing, I got scared and ran away to the stairs or to my left with the bed of chaos)

My blind playthrough didn't have problems till biggie and smalls. I was also lost in the woods and had no idea where to go for a while.

My 2nd biggest problem was manus. I had no idea about the amulet or summoning Sif. I was stuck on Manus for maybe 2 hours.

Dark souls is an easy ass game

Let me inform you that I was so blind I had no idea you can summon people till biggie and smalls. This also applies to NPC's.

Yeah but Ash Lake is a totally optional area, and one I'm not sure why it exists in the first place.

Both Sif and the amulet are useless so you did the fight properly

Dude you won't know about summoning on your first playthrough, unless you look it up. Ironic since it's a noob tool.

Fair enough. One I'm really not fond of is the Duke's Archives, because it feels like every single enemy there is a giant asshole guillotine ready to execute me from some corner of the room and it's not fun to go through. Channelers and crystal archers can bite me, and fuck that awful ass siren that releases the Pisacas.

I used those on my first playthrough. Now I rarely bother with them because crossing that root bridge is such a pain in the ass. Never got good at doing it.

Oh and you don't get shit for leveling up vitality, unlike DS1 where your meter stretches the entire screen.

Perhaps, but it's fun. I'll take an unusual boss/covenant weapon that doesn't scale and has a cool moveset over a +15 standard spear any day, because they're just more fun to use.

I see Duke's Archives as the only cool area post-Anor Londo actually. I guess I prefer travelling architecture instead of caves. Besides the DLC stuff.

Name a game that did faith better than DaS with its Lightning Spears. I'll wait.

Cont.

I also might have played the game on a whole other level making it easy as shit for me. I went to the graveyard first and worked my way into the catacombs. I was getting destroyed but eventually I learned to Git gud. Eventually I figured out to go to my right instead and kill the weak zombies. The game became a fucking joke after fighting skeletons and getting the zwei hander in the graveyard.

"Dark Souls is so hard" has always been a meme.
It was basically NES-hard at time when the market was full of ezmode hand-holding and quicktime events (outside of a few specific genres).

I will guess that the vast majority of players had difficulty with only 1-2 of the pre-lordvessel bosses. Which boss they had trouble with depends on the player. And then the other difficult parts are O&S, Gwyn, and maybe the Titanite Demon on the shortcut bridge in Lost Izalith if you don't cheese. And then that gazebo with those white demons in anor londo right before the archers can be tricky, as well as the archers themselves but that one is over-meme'd and not as hard as it's made out to be.

This is comparable to a game like Mike Tyson's Punch-Out where basically the only hard fights are Tyson and Macho Man but everyone is likely to have some trouble with at least a couple of the other bouts based on their skill and play style.

I liked the architecture of the Duke's Archives, I just didn't like the enemy placement and selection. All Channelers can burn in the lowest pits of hell, and introducing the Archives with two armored boars in a very tight corridor isn't my idea of a fun time. Nor is getting sniped by a buffed archer.

>pick pyro and masterkey
>yeet off cliff to catacombs
>get the gravelord sword
>kill pinwheel
>back to firelink
>yeet off cliff to lower undead burg
>kill capra demon
>talk to domhnall
>free lautrec
>kill gargs
>buy lautrec's petrus sidequest
>tomb of giants
>kick lautrec off cliff for FAP

>Can't evade
confirmed bad at the game. remove some armour and get the fast roll going.

'sup OP I just got this on switch too. maybe we could play together. My FC is SW-2840-6543-0618

>Roll backwards into wall
>Hitbox still hits me
What now?

power within mainly, assuming you specifically talk about the top part with the rafters, since that's the part that used to have fps issues and it's the part that people generally hated. Also fuck the weebs who go after the ninja set and the shitty katana.

Bottom blight town has a bunch of stuff like dragon scale, shiva of the east and quelana, etc, but you can get there easily from firelink whenever.

probably rolled too early - time your roll better so your invincibility frames line up with his attack. while he's attacking, try to push against him to circle around him - depending on the specific animation, you'll probably be able to slip past while he's moving so you can get around him and be able to back up. try to pull him out of the hallway if possible so you can have more space while fighting him if you like.

look at these plebs that don't appreciate good levels, bet they even hate sens fortress, retards.

>sequence break to get to lower undead burg even on my non speedrun playthroughs

Attached: 1556410072514.gif (368x349, 2.53M)

it has good base damage, also who the fuck cares about muh damage and muh minmaxing when you're playing casually through the game?

And if you unironically take souls pvp seriously then you're retarded and you should know it's never too late to get an abortion.

Gravelord has so much fucking base damage it doesn't even matter. At +4 it'll stomp all of NG and NG+, you can even use it with a shield and abuse the shit out of the incredible 1h WD attack

I'm playing this for the first time (specifically the Switch version) but I did a bit of research beforehand. Here's what I've gathered

>Pyromancer is best new player class
>Master Key is good for 2nd runthroughs onward as it gives you a shortcut but 1st playthroughs might want to avoid it
>Drake Sword is a crutch and doesn't scale

Anything else to think about?

youtube.com/watch?v=cO6LvSjAjdA
The kill at 5:21 is the highest IQ thing I've seen done in a Souls game

Attached: 1538951060001.png (480x480, 305K)

you can buy the master key. having it at the beginning of the game is necessary for keeping undeadburg a pvp area (taurus skip)

that was painfully obviously a joke user

You can skip blighttown without the master key

starter classes don't matter so much btw, they just determine your starting class and starting equipment, so you can be, use and do anything you want after starting the game, it's even possible to find the other classes starting equipments in-game.

and yes generally you should avoid master key first playthrough since it could potentially cause you to skip some areas, which is fine generally, but you end up missing on certain portions of the game.

as far as drake sword goes, it's a good early game weapon but quickly gets out damaged by almost anything else in the game, so if you do get it early game, you can use it if you want but don't waste material upgrading it.

Finally, don't level up resistance, it's absolutely useless.

>they just determine your starting class and starting equipment
meant to say "they just determine your starting STATS and starting equipment"

It’s fun trying to clear catacombs on a fresh character. Either slowly work your way through every necromancer and down, or rush Pinwheel and fight your way back up.

>tfw to intelligent for gaping dragon and blighttown
Let's be honest, everyone does that, but at least once people needs to see those places even if they're fucking garbage

Because in switch runs fine
It's the last gen version the one with fps drops
I bet they'll do the same in ps5 with bloodborne because it seems fromsoft needs to rerelease the games again one generation later to run them smoothly

Blighttown was pretty much defiled valley 2.0, with the fps drops included too, but easier

>skipping 2 of the most fun areas
let me guess, your favorite area is anor londo

Sorry but this place always looked like an unfinished area, I bet there was planned a boss fight or something like that

YOU CAN SKIP BLIGHTTOWN WITHOUT MASTER KEY

Attached: dany.png (511x309, 162K)

Why would he play the ps4 version when the lighting is fucked up?
Let him play whenever the fuck he wants you massive tool

Sen's Fortress is the absolute worst shit and there's no skipping it.

The bosses in DS aren’t that hard because the combat is shallow as fuck. The hard part of the game is dragging yourself to the boss, because literally everything is designed to fuck you up as much as humanly possible and to this day I still wonder why the game is praised for its level design.

>The bosses in DS aren’t that hard because the combat is shallow as fuck.

Attached: brainlet.png (645x729, 105K)

git gud

Upper blighttown is unironically better than lower blighttown and you cannot change my mind
It was only a problem in the original version, even pcs weren't safe WITH dsfix, it wasn't so bad on mine but it was noticeable

It's the same for me, the only part that I don't really like is the area with the four titanite demons

*instantly breaks your poise while you're in full Havel's in ur path*
Nothin personnel. At least the bonewheels take a couple hits before they can stun you

Attached: hollow-torch-large.jpg (600x338, 38K)

This is really what gives a game replayability.

Pyromancer is not necessarily best class but starting with pyromancies is great, master key I would never recommend to a new player although it does open up more possibilities at the beginning of the game thief class starts with master key regardless of which gift you choose.
Drake sword is a crutch early on (and by early I mean just the parish and maybe lower burg), completely trash later, just play with what you enjoy

kino design

Not gonna lie, I tried the switch version at a friend's house and aside from the audio it wasn't so bad. Now I wanna see how bad DMC1 is going to be

The great club aka best str weapon

It's the best console version. Shame about the audio.

summer

Having played Nioh prepared me for them, they are even worse cunts in that game.

>has fire damage
>sprouts fire
>knock it down to go bananas on it
>does an AOE-attack on you and then gets up and you have to start over again

For maximum comfy times. Growing up with a handheld this was just what i've always wanted, to play my computer game on a handheld. Nothing better than to sit in the shadow outside, feeling the wind and playing some Dark Souls or whatever desu

this always seemed like a homage to nausicaa to me. it was a simple but atmospheric touch.

iaito, pw, wanderer set, pyromancer set, large/green sharts, firekeeper soul, server

My first playthrough was just me in Havel's gear jump-slashing everything with my bigdick tree

>Get Remastered on Switch as an excuse to play again.
>Having fun.
>Kill Sif.
>Remember I have to do Four Kings, Bed of Chaos and Tomb of the Giants again.
>Stop playing.
