Games define a system more than anything else. PS2, DS, and SNES are the 3 best consoles in history. No ands, ifs, or buts about it. The library of those 3 is just unmatched, even though they were inferior hardware wise (only the SNES was somewhat equal to the competition) to their direct competitor.

I've never used a handheld before, but since getting a switch I've gotten quite fond of playing in bed, and there are a lot of games on it that I've become increasingly interested in playing. What are the pros and cons of getting one now? Are the games going to still be full price years after they came out, like with nintendo's console games? you need a micro SD card big enough to fit the games you want and a micro SD card reader for you computer so you can transfer the files you need

If the card is bigger than 32GB it needs to be formatted to FAT32

To transfer pirated games you can use the system's SD card

you don't NEED anything extra to pull it off, though I think ntrboothax (which needs a flashcart) is the easiest

Pros: weak horsepower aside, the games it plays are fun and great on the go. Native GBA/DS backwards compatibility. Great SNES emu. You can have some of the greatest metroid games ever released between Zero Mission (1), Samus Returns (2), Super Metroid (3), and Fusion (4). Those will cover the key franchise events other than Prime, all on the go.

Cons: its really btfo by Vita in the strength department. I really wish it had an extra stick instead of the nub, but c'est la vie. If it had native n64 emu it would be an 11/10 but thats flying too close to the sun. Also, its at the end of its life. Kirbys epic yarn i think is the last officially released Nintendo game, but that doesnt mean you wont see 3rd party releases.

Ps1 has a great library. Do that. Metal Gear. Silent Hill. Og spyro and crash bandicoot. Resident evil. Rainbow six. You can even play GTA on it.

If you have never had a handheld you basically get everything on the 3DS, the DS, the GBA and the GBC, which is a great fucking deal

Emulating handhelds on PC is bad.
Emulating anything on a phone is bad.
Emulating handhelds on a 3DS or Vita, however, is acceptable.
