A better question: how does a bug like that even happen?
I let Peter get infected as soon as he told me to attempt to save Anna
Anna died day 4, Peter fucking rolled to live until the game made it impossible to win the cheeky cunt
Those numbers are the coordinates of the Polyhedron
I don't like the ending where grace ends up living with him, he's a tywrine junkie and will encourage her to keep up the same habit herself, i want her off the sauce!
I can't tell if you're joking or not.
Big if true
When you go to hand the papers to the general, one of the options you can say if you read the papers is 6192355001602451, he asks what it is and you can say it's coordinates for the Polyhedron, before telling him it's his target.
But.... why? Like, what? Why would that temporarily be his name?
That's dumb.
How do I git gud at the combat? I keep getting my shit stomped by plague-ridden hobos whenever I go dumpster diving at night and I'm tired of having to resort to running away.
Pretty neat desu.
Get a gun nigga
Sneaking pretty much guarantees you a kill. A backstab will get them down to one hit with fists. You can do a back punch and keep wailing on them too. Pretty much just get a knife and maintain its durability and you should be good the whole game.
How do people like this even exist?
They play games on "easy" always. Never have been challenged in a game before or life.
I like to think of us Pathologic players as the "next step".
>wasting that much money on MILITARY GRADE
>or avoiding combat entirely until like Day 9
lmao
they don't get the struggle. as for me, my mouse broke and i'm forced to use a really shitty and tiny mouse instead and it's adding to the experience. i'm basically going through just as hard a time as our boy artemy is.
You can find dev messages during the ending of the game. Spoilers obviously.
No, dude, it's a backer. This is presumably someone who played the original Pathologic, or at least understood the idea well enough to throw money at it.
lol goddamn
Oh Wtf. Yeah that's retarded.
Its nice to know that even the devs hate this kind of player.
I can't play for more than an hour or two at a time without getting burnt out but it's still my goty
Careful, now, year's not even half over.
IPL are so good.
Best dandy when?
Never ever ever.
Move to /vg/, you dead game shills
I wish they kept this design
>weekend flatline
what in the goddamn
Bots. No one literally played game at that moment.
How do I not have my computer burst into flames running this? Seriously Sekiro ran better than this on my computer.
Sekiro didn't have nearly as many complaints about optimization, though.
That's what running better generaly entails, yes.
Why is Cargo so hated?
cargo is from the outside
outside bad
Are you trying to say it isn't incomprehensibly artsy enough for most IPL fans?
I enjoy her style. There's something charming about a bent over goat with a fucked up eye and gravelly voice.
What I want to know if it's the current state of civilization that allows for him to exist or if people like him have always existed? I assume that in a proper traditional stable society that still adheres to social norms a moron would never say anything like this in public, but I can't be too sure anymore.
Combat is ultimately more about resources than anything else. All of the protective clothes decrease damage that enemy deal. Weapon durability is critical. The duller the weapon is, the less damage it deals, so keep them sharp. Scalpels and menkhu blade attack faster than regular knives and fists, but they dull faster and obviously, you are risking that the tool will not be available when you need it for autopsy. That said, with the Menkhu blade, you can pretty much insta-slaughter people with two hits if it's fully sharpened.
If you are in a very bad spot, lockpicks are a nasty, but very useful too. They deal a fuckton of damage on their own, but more importantly, regardless of the enemy healthy, they ALWAYS kill when they break. If you have low durability lockpicks on your hands, they are literally a one-use insta-kill tool.
Don't get dragged into fighting multiple people at the same time, if you can try to sneak up on enemies - backstabs deal a ton of damage, may be a guaranteed kill if your weapon is in good shape.
Blocking a knife does reduce damage you take. But it's better to just keep your distance, watch our for your stamina, and chain-stagger enemy with quick hits.
If you are still having problems, get a gun.
yeah it kind of comes out of nowhere compared to the atmosphere of the rest of IPL's games and it probably alienated their usual fans
This "breaking lockpicks kills the enemy" thing has to be a bug, right? It's too obviously exploitable.
Have you played it?
You'd know if you had. It was just... it was just bad. Icepick Lodge games always have some issues with their gameplay, but not only that Cargo was worst in this regard, but it was also the most mechanically focused one, which made the terrible gameplay elements even more intrusive. It had clever ideas, but lacking the sombre tone, and being at times deliberately obnoxious with it's silliness just made it so much harder to swallow. Just about everything about the game was grating.
It was, but it just did not work. You could see the ideas working on paper but the execution and frankly much of the art direction, sound and soundtrack did not work at all. IPL know very well how to go a dark path with elements of humor, but they they try straight up comedy - something that GENERALLY isn't easy to do in games, they absolutely do not have the eye for it.
It's not only not a bug, it's something that the game takes quite a lot of care pointing out to the player. Entire questline to teach you that.
It's not as exploitable as you'd think. There is a good reason why lockpicks don't stack and why there is - ultimately, a very limited supply of them too. And this is not a game where killing people easily will get you that much of an advantage.
Does Rubin always die on day 7?
Not if you do his quest
The fact that he is a backer does not in any way mean that he had played the game, or that he had clear-enough idea to throw money at it. He may have read few lines of description, going "that sounds cool" and sending a couple bucks. Clearly he in fact had not played the original game, nor bothered to research it.
>It's not only not a bug, it's something that the game takes quite a lot of care pointing out to the player. Entire questline to teach you that.
Do you mean the quest to retrieve the lockpick from Grief's Redshirt? I don't remember anything about that, quite the other way around; lockpick still functions, guy only dies if you don't treat him/"treat" him too much.
A fool and his money, then?
Literally none in the game HAS to die. But the chains of events that will result in particular outcome are often very strange and unclear. If he is dead for you, I'd recommend accepting that outcome and moving on.
Also, you'll still get a chance to chat with him if you die yourself.
>HAS
Aglaya.
I'm not sure if that makes him less or more retarded.
>I don't remember anything about that
They specifically explain that the locals intentionally use these lockpicks to break them in the wound, which causes absolutely crippling damage. That guy got lucky, and the lockpick happened to be functional, but the message is still clear: breaking lockpicks in wounds is a devastating, if inhuman, way of dealing with enemies.
>he didn't discover the third option
I have a suggestion.
How about we gas the kin.
Seriously. In the original game, they were treated like some kind of basically in-human monstrosity. This game makes them feel far, far more fleshed out, like an actual culture, even makes you feel pity to them and angry at the Vlad's but... then the more you learn about them, the more you'll want to see them all fucking genocided.
Okay, tell me about options.
>beginning of game
"Oh theyre pretty cool, lot of mystetious words and magical mythology stuff, neat!"
>end of game
"They're just a bunch of fucking sheep who shouldn't exist"
People say you need to do his quest but that's bullshit.I went to warehouses and after searching around I finally found the door where I think he should be but I couldn't go in because it was too late(I think), but what I DID DO is find panacea on day 6. After that Aglaya conversation bugs out(devs mentioned that they're gonna patch it up) and she tells you faggot Rubin found the panacea.
So I went to his house to smash his fucking head for being a lying piece of shit but he was dying from depression in his bed. After all this I didn't find him at all until day 11 where I met him at the trains, and asked him to be my apprentice(to which he agreed).
when i did both the endings, in nocturnal, she dies in your journal and in diurnal, she is still alive in your journal, so i assume she lives
where the fuck are all the saves stored
don't make me delete this shit one at a time
is there any way i can do an autopsy without it tanking my rep?
i guess this is a bug. My daylight ending Aglaya still dies. I even cannot fing her in 11 day.
Draining blood has no rep hit.
...\AppData\LocalLow\Ice-Pick Lodge\Pathologic 2\Saves
interesting, regardless of if its a bug or not, there was literally no closure with aglaya (unless you leave with her). Hopefully they flesh her out more in the other routes, same with block, hes cool

>don't frivolously trade with drunks

Any other general tips for the first few days?
If you really want to know, you can find Aglaya to the right of the town hall entrance, to check if the couriers actually delivered her orders.
hoard lockpicks, there're great when attacking mobs, when they break on an enemy it's insta kill; don't be afraid of robbing people in their houses, normal people will only attack you IF they see you directly taking stuff from their drawers, otherwise they won't even mind you opening their doors, hoard nuts and loot caches, try to buy schmowders at every opportunity, they're costly - wopping 35 points with kids but it's pretty much the only item that's mandatory in the game because it cures the plague 100% percent and can be used to save your adherents; your thirst can't go up to 100% so it's the last stat you have to worry - you will never start losing health because of thirst , always use sneaking when going through dangerous areas, AI is pretty blind when you sneak, you can basically walk past them when you're pressing C
he basically gets a free pussy to get high with. Living the dream.
there's only three encounters where you could possibly need to fight, and revolver is really terrible, it's better to use shivs or git gut with your hands, the times you gotta fight during quests is:
when fighting worms at night for stah at his hideout
fighting worms in the termitiery for the kin
fighting worms in the abattoir
and possibly most of those above mentioned fights can still be skipped anyway, but the truth is revolver isn't really worth the hassle, but you can find it as loot in infected houses at times
>saves got corrupted during day 8
>restarted the game
>got lots of resources early, 4 shmowders on day 3
>do haunted house, take 3 hours because don't see the candles in the room with the kids
>reload because fuck time waste
>forget that I traded for a 5th shmowder omw to the place
This is some harsh punishment for my autism.
Also: I want to use a shmowder on Notkin right away after he gets infected, right?
because he is all heart, all the time
yes, there's a very slim chance of any person surviving more than one day after being infected
>original is basically a survival walking simulator VN
>devs literally say the goal is to make you feel uncomfortable
>"wow why do I feel so uncomfortable"
I get that it's ridiculous that player eats for 20k calories a day though.
the food stops really being a problem after the fund is being established where they virtually shower you with goodies if you're not dumb enough and you actually get off your ass and heal some random schmucks on the streets and get the fund meter to the top, I can see that hunger and sleep draining fast can be a nuisance but that's kinda the core thing of every pathologic game, plus you can just buy coffee and lemons and that already takes care of like half your sleep meter alone from just two products
>coffee
user, no!
>don't get coffee, get lemons
Almost fucking forgot.
I mean, if you have bandages to spare and your sleep need is the biggest one of the bunch then coffee is good, lemons are good too
Yeah, but bandages are a further waste of resources. Pretty easy to drink +piss tinctures and eat piss-fruit to keep it manageable.
I got like over 10K in cash and most shops only use coupons so I could freely just buy all the healing items I wanted so it wasn't really a problem, especially that sleeping on its own heals a good amount
Is Notkin supposed to get infected on Day 4 or did I fuck up royally?
it's hard coded, yes, happens no matter what
>broke
making sure to keep your hunger meter low so you don't starve to death
>woke
letting it max out and using bandages to deal with the health loss instead
Peter is trash and always dies first in my game.
I said fuck it and let his brother die too.
Then I destroyed his gay tower
>not making sure he lives to see his dumb paper mache crack
>never enjoyed these kinds of games before
>enjoying this one for some reason
Probably because of the good music and aesthetics.
Despite it's technical issues, this game is is very clevery designed. It has appeal that goes beyond and I would argue even misses entirely the type of people who think they are into narrative games, and meanwhile can draw a lot of people interested in very different genres.
You'll see this in a lot of reviews: tons of people flat out complaining about the non-linear nature of it, saying how they would enjoyed it more if it was like the prologue for the whole time and shit.
Also, the writing, art direction and settings are pretty much on a different level than most competition that it has.
>Peter is trash and always dies first in my game.
Fitting, actually.
I had them both die on the same night, despite tending to both of them. First two deaths of the game for me. So far, I actually had only three people die in total, but I am pretty sure that number is going to change with upcoming night. Unless someone gets really lucky, I think the entire Kain family, Fat Guy, Eve, and Aspity are all done for, and I have no fucking intention of tending to them.
I have a bigger issue though. Notkin is infected (AGAIN) and nowhere to be found. The little bastard.
Also, I wanted to resolve the Kin situation, but in all seriousness, I'm just going to. Fat Vlad and the crowd of assholes can sort the shit out by themselves. For all I care, they should all rot in Warrens for ever.
Am I the only one who think the original soundtrack is better then the new one? I really wish they had kept it in instead of making a whole new soundtrack, I just really feel the old OST fit the atmosphere and setting better then the new one. I'm not saying the new soundtrack is bad tho, just not as good as the old one.
Basically everyone else thinks the same, the OST from 1 is superior in every way
Not really. I prefer the new one for the most part. Especially when they use the steppe chants and shit. Theodor Bastard did a FANTASTIC job and frankly, I can't even think of "Pathologic" without immediately thinking of something like this:
youtube.com
Plus a lot of the locations have been given more distinct themes, like Lara and Yulia's place.
The ambient music I'd say is otherwise generally on par.
what song plays when you talk to saburov about the peasant mob? that was so good.
the original soundtrack was great, but I also like Bastard's versions of the song. I knew Theodor and is band for a long time now, because his music was used a lot of time in Kol-Belov's animation, kol is a russian based animator and he did things like this youtu.be
1 has several standout tracks like the menu theme or locked district theme
2 has more overall average quality
just my opinion, I think they're both good
He's the one who made it and he's obsessed with it.
funny how he himself states in the original pathologic is that blowing up the town to save the tower is a bad idea because it will become a rose in barren wasteland and he doesn't want this to happen, it's still pretty unclear whether it actually managed to preserve immortality but from what I've gathered it's mostly just smoke and mirrors, quite literally speaking, and it's mostly just feeding you illusions rather than actually make miracles come true
i'm glad they did a bunch of stuff different, as that was the whole point. no one should actually play just the original or just 2 anyway if they're fans.
youtube.com
I'm sorry, but if this did not become the QUINTESSENTIAL sound of Pathologic, you've done something wrong.
And this shit:
youtube.com
I think the new soundtrack fits the game more than the old one for the most part. I just kinda wish there was more of it. They reuse a couple of songs a little too much - it's great, but there just could and should be more of it.
Which frankly fucking applies to everything about the game.
I WOULD say that the soundtrack does fit specifically Haruspex, and that I would like to see Daniil actually have some new tracks. For an instance, the menu theme of Pathologic 1 fits him specifically. I think less steppe and more gregorian chant would give his campaign all the more distinct feeling.
The music in this game is great
I've enjoyed other games like american mcgees alice in the past because of the good music and art too
>Zen
Trading in just a little more food than you need to not go hungry for half of the day, tanking the hunger and also exhaustion damage for second half without healing, then eating up before you go to bed so that you wake up with full health again, halving your food consumption, having always surplus saved for a rainy day, stocking up on bandages or trading them in for more important resources.
The biggest regret that I have is that I did not stash away all those bandaids in the first half of the game. In late game, they become invaluable and fucking hard to get at times.
>broke
Bartering with people
>woke
Keeping half of your inventory filled with barter items only to not trade with anyone because you can't get 0 on their barters with preffered items.
Not getting 0 is really fucking stupid. If you are not dumb, you know when to trade in items at a "loss" when you are actually still making a net profit. Plus - cluttered inventory is a major hindrance.
It is good however to have 35+ points worth of nuts on you at any time, for the cases of random girlies carrying around powder.
Othewise, keep that capital fluent and investments diverse, bucko.
So: I have run into two major issues with the daily hospital quests.
One - separating living from the dead. I'm pretty fucking sure it was broken, because there really were only two people living at any time I tried. My first run - two women living outside the theatre, but nobody inside, and on my second try, two men living in the upper floor of the theatre, but no living women outside.
Second, surviving the fucking shift on the next day. GOD that is a pain in the ass. Is it a joke? Is it supposed to be impossible to be finished? I would not fucking be surprised if it was just one of IPL's very dark jokes.
there are people sometimes spawning behind the scene, as in in the back where there are more bodies stored, it's definitely possible to finish this quest, and and so is the next day's one too, you mean when you have to spend an hour inside? Just jump around and don't get caught, you can jump over corpses
trading at a loss also nets you rep in that district, in case people find themselves hunted outside of day 1
>game got bugged and now every man constantly tells me about "going to comendant to enlist" and i have a marker on the map. Lets hope when act 3 comes it just disappears itself..
>Just jump around and don't get caught, you can jump over corpses
That is not my problem.
The problem is that nobody came in after the hour. I waited for about another half, then assumed it's just enough and left.
The game awareded me with a honest "This is bullshit..." message and info that no new reward awaits me for this day.
would you like me to sing you a song?
Inform IPL about this ASAP, send them a bug report and your save file (you can find it here: ...\AppData\LocalLow\Ice-Pick Lodge\Pathologic 2\Saves).
The devs will not only use it to pinpoint and fix the bug, and will be very grateful, but they will most likely be able to fix your save file and send it back. They did this for me when I reported a permanent rain bug on day 1. They were absolutely amazingly kind. It wasn't even a major bug, just that it rained for three days instead of one.
you have to wait long enough got the birds to come pick you up, it should happen in about 2 real life minutes, probably less than than, maybe it's just bugged as you said
She used to be my favorite character in Pathologic 1.
Now... she is still my favorite character.
I checked the time, it was definitely over 30 minutes of in-game time (which is about 2-3 minutes of real time, I think, a little over) and still no asshole coming.
Given that it cost me like four tonics, I figured out "fuck it" and just decided to ignore it entirely. Maybe I'll try again, if there is time left. Given that I have decided to plain out IGNORE the Termitary storyline, I think I should have enough time to spare on Day 8. Hopefully.
Hm, maybe i should try but maybe its too late? I think i got bug on day 2 and it's 3rd right now so its weird.
actually maybe i can test if it goes away by just sleeping through everything for a while.
Still. Just report, send the save file, there are instructions for submitting bugs on the steam forums if you don't know where to address them.
Even if it's "too late", they can still probably fix it or at least figure out how to prevent it with next patches.
For me, the weather bug happened on day 1 and I only realized it's not a feature half-way through day 2, and they still identified the problem and fixed it. Pretty much over night too - I submitted it one day, got a very kind message and a fixed save file in my mail a morning after.
wonder why she doesn't actually operate as a shelter now, excluding letting haruspex use her couch while she stares at him sleeping.
there are actually few new beds in her house meaning she surely houses some people inside too, thats in later stages of the game, like after day 6 or so i believe
I assume that, just like it would happen in the original, Bachelor is presumed to convince her not to do it while you are away.
She never did actually open it in the original either. She'd just become infected if you failed to convince her (or more importantly, Fatso Vladso) to prevent it, but the shelter is never "officially opened in the end.
If I remember correctly, in one of the Kickstarter updates about music, Ice Pick Lodge said that since every protagonist perceives the Town differently also the music will be different.
I wonder what bashelor gimmick will be (if it ever comes out).
In original you can...use telescope to look at clouds, neato. He's supposed to be "real scientist" but at the same time you can't just give him "he can make pills out of not-infected organs and not-herbs".
Maybe his telescope can spot traps?
Actually i have an idea: vacuum cleaner(well ok thats the joke) that can sukk the evil clouds so you're not as vulnerable in infected areas.
Yeah. The same kickstarter that promised entire game and gave us 1/3rd of it.
I'm not bitter, fuck me this one third of a full thing is better than ten other great game combined. I just... uh. Let's say I'm not all that hopeful for future of the studio, and I'm worried that a lot of further compromises will be have to be done.
>spotting traps
that's pretty lewd user. But seriously, I hope he gets some cool new tech toys to play around because in the path. 1 haruspex was more interesting to play for me simply because he HAD some extra mechanics to him, mainly running around the steppe and making potions, even if it was just a very naive and shallow mechanic that actually didn't really provide much tangible outputs for the gameplay apart from the fact you could sell herbs in the bar, it was fun. I think bachelor will have access to vaccines, the temporary ones that grant immunity, because that's his whole campaign whole shtick, from the very first day he was adamant saving the town is mostly pointless and we have to focus on producing a vaccine to save future towns and cities from the plague. Maybe we could have more laboratory related stuff at our disposal? Something like playing a forensic technician and studying different blood samples, maybe a neat little mini game like haruspex has with the three layers? I don't think he's gonna be bare bones, at least I HOPE so, i'm pretty sure they'll give him some cool toys to tinker with.
it was mostly due to the crisis, trading embargo and sanctions put on Russia, partially due to the whole Crimea fiasco. For example Russia stopped importing apples from Poland, with bolen being one of the bigger, if not THE biggest apple producer in europe it was a massive hit for the ENTIRE central and eastern european region. IPG said they're not able to finish the game with the amount of kickstarter money but the backers will get the other 2 scenarios when they come out for free. I was one of the first 3000 backers for the "early pathological bird" tier but I'd honestly shill out more cash to buy the two other scenarios if i needed since at least ipg is worthy of being supported like this
>turn around for a second
>get hit by plague cloud moving at the speed of a jet
Why the fuck people complain about 1/3 of the game when there's so much content that after ~65h I haven't seen everything. Most people didn't even touch Haruspex's or Changeling's routes in original.
Well because they basically paid for them?
Im fine with how the game is, and with all the problems devs and russia have i don't expect to see other 2 storylines or even worse: see them absolutely butchered, but it's kinda hard to blame people for being promised one thing and getting other.
I'd pay for each part separately myself but yea, i just gonna pretend that other characters don't exist.
the reason we get some antagonistic and insulting dialogue options is purely due to those 3 straps granting him edginess
every strap for every bitch he murderized with bare hands
>I wonder what bashelor gimmick will be (if it ever comes out).
I think seeing infected objects and clouds will be implemented (IPL talked about it being a feature that most people did not discover, but that they are really fond of re-implementing).
I hope he will have different diagnosis model (maybe one requiring less resources as he does not have ready access to tonics) .
Ideally though: I wish the game would place a lot more "strategic and admin" weight on him. Assigning orderlies around the town to watch over certain districts or perhaps "gathering resources", making calls on when and which districts to cordon off, do more with the whole "marking houses" mechanic that was frankly introduced and abandoned way too quickly in P2.
I'd like to see the game really expand on the whole "he is officially in charge" element and bogging him down with administration, resource distribution and so on.
I would also like if he had, unlike Haruspex, actually the correspondence element back. Though I do understand why they most likely won't re-introduce that.
You might want to light that lamp next time, user.
Does it scare away plague?
>Why the fuck people complain about 1/3 of the game
1/3 of the story, to be exact. And it's just because we are worried. I don't feel cheated in the slightest. That is not my issue. Fuck I think the game as it is is honest-to-god underpriced given the content and production values.
It's just that between the kickstarter and now, whole lot of shit has happened and a lot of our hopes were shattered, or at least stretched very, very thin.
Again: it's that I am bitter. If someone says "they promised X and Y in the kickstarter" it does not hold much water to me.
As for others, there is also one issue which to be fair, IS IPL's fault, the fact that while they did communicate the decision to cut the game into three parts has been announced clearly on their blog, kickstarter and youtube channel, it has not been properly communicated on the Steam and Gog page.
And sadly a lot of people who supported the game but did not keep an eye on updates, or people who just played the first one, saw the second and assume that it is the remake they heard was in the making - were confused as hell. And confusion leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. And hate leads to...
Grace is clearly a positive influence on him, though. If there's anyone who can drag him out of the twyrine pit, it's her.
I do have to wonder just how did IPL come up with putting those two together though. Would still prefer adopting her myself.
All the backers will get other routes for free and the others will also get them for free if the sales are good enough. IPL didn't lie to anyone. Sure, we could wait another 2-3 years to get all routes on the release but what's the point?
Which your hopes were shattered? I've read updates recently and besides some minor things (like people waiting in lines in front of shops) everything they promised appeared in the game. I think IPL picked the best option they had.
Just finished the game.
Did I goof?
>missed Rubin's quest, he died
>didn't buy candy wrappers
>spoke to Var and forgot to follow up, didn't know I could sell him organs until day 6
>died dozens of times, took the no death penalty deal
>4 of the children died and so many other adults I can't even name them all
>never found a rifle
>never rescued a baby
>thought hoarding medicine instead of helping at the hospital would mean I have more resources in the end
>didn't leave with Aglaya, she dies
>avoided the bombardment to save the Kin
mfw
>Which your hopes were shattered?
Of the game being released in a completed stage, with all three characters, if nothing else. And again: I do not blame the developers, nor I do I feel cheated. It's just a fact of life. But still a sad one. As of now, we are left very uncertain and with bleak outlooks on seeing the whole thing truly coming together.
that's why you need reading comprehension to do goon in this game, var tell you on your first encounter that he buys organs, and that the fund will reward you if you perform well in the hospital shifts, it's all in the quest markers and dialogue
>took the no death penalty deal
you goofed indeed
it's afraid of fire, that's why there are burning pillars next to infected districts and the whole haunted house quest with candles
>tfw day 6 and learning this now
Im retarded
Okay you know what, im sick of this shit. I wated for so long and this is what i get?
Where the fuck is plague-chan porn?!
Don't lewd the miracle girl.
Its ok, i never realised myself that in plagued houses there are "clean" and "dirty" containers, you can see them in looting window and dirty containers reduce your immunity, i thought it was random.

Nobody trusts you. If it comes to word against word, they will still be against you, because you are, for all intents and purposes, a stranger to a town that JUST COINCIDENTALLY saw two horrifying murders on the same day you dragged your sorry ass in.
Things will get better after day 1 evening. If you feel particularly unsafe, and just want to wait the storm out, all you have to do is walk into the Town Hall. Don't worry. They will put you into a solitary cell.
>game runs like shit
>hunger drains fast
>no handholding
He's not wrong.
Not necessarily. Knifed thugs and molotov thugs can carry resources worth fucking thousands on them after day 3 or four. Though not always will you be lucky enough to get to kill them.
He is a fucking retard for not figuring out how to save, bitch about a lot of dialogues in a Pathologic game, and complains that there are too many things to do.
>game runs like shit
Am I seriously the only one with NO performance issues what so ever?
Granted, I upgraded recently. But the game runs pretty much perfect smooth with very short loading times on highest settings. Sure, when it streams in a new chunk of the city you'll get a noticeable slowdown for about a split second, and there is a another second-or-less slowdown when entering new interiors, but still.
Do moving clouds even give a fuck about lamp?
Some specific settings are broken or something iirc, cant remember which were such hogs
Moving ones, no. It's the static ones that get dispersed.
Some people have issues some don't. It's a sign of poor optimisation, the game doesn't have particularly amazing graphics to justify the poor perfomance.
00:30 AM day 4 and i only have 1 slice of apple and no money and id rather die than eat my nuts
I always was low on food but always could find more without dying, so i dunno, working as intended? Kids give you fooken dried fishes for 7 points, i think each one is at least 4 hours of food.
What's the music called that plays in the Judge's workshop? I might be retarded but I can't find it on the soundtrack upload on YouTube.
Go collect funds.
Have fun dealing with meds and health drain now on top of hunger.
You wouldn’t an inquisitor
>I would like to see Daniil actually have some new tracks
youtu.be
He is pretty much guaranteed to get this song during THAT moment since it didn't play during the Haruspex story and Clara doesn't have any moments that fit the song
Plus it's one of the few songs with vocals that aren't steppe chanting
Watch them butcher Eva's conversations and character like Aglaya
Useless Science also sounds like a song made for the Bachelor's story
Post Her
How can other characters even compete?
Useless Science is used inside the Trammel I think. I recognise the second half of it at least.
It does play there but the only reason you ever have to go there is during the day the Bachelor is inside and tells you how he has lost all hope
Oh fuck that is a good song.
okay so it's 4:00 am of day 10.
i beat the shit out of the abbatoir
i've sent young olgimsky to death
the kin freaks want more killing
i have a shotgun and a gun so i think it's much easier just to kill everything and I don't think I have the physical time to sort this out, but what's the pacific option in this case?
>no aglaya porn
It plays in Yulia's and Victor's houses at the very least. So yeah, you'll be hearing it a lot as Bachelor.
Delete this
Imagine they keep quests to collect 10 rifles and 50immune pills, just to dab on haters.
>can't hug the people I love
Is this some bullshit way to say my immunity is decreased?
no it means you genuinely can't hug people now
I wonder how is it justified lore-wise. All the actors past first two are autists?
Well it just means Burakh as a character can't hug, not that the actor playing him is physically incapable of it. The actor is just taking that into account with his actions now.
>all-time peak
>1418
ayyyyyyy. it's shilled so hard here and yet it bombed hard
You're in the middle of a plague outbreak for a disease that is so incredibly devastating that the person assigned with inventing a cure would rather nuke the place instead. Is that sufficient justification for not hugging people in the middle of an outbreak?
If you are hungry you run slower.
Be a shame if that tower full of kids fell over.
'cuz you know...
KIDS
The kids are evacuated by the army at that point.
>kids
I wonder how many 150 year-old children you know. Also it is self-evident that they would be allowed to leave it before that happens, although some will most likely choose to stay thinking that their protest will stop the tower from falling.
steamspy.com
It's still kinda low, but plenty of people have it on gog instead of steam.
It's a nieche-nieche game, so its not like a lot of people would buy it.
it's a quote from bad grief
I dunno about lore-wise but in terms of making the player actually bothered by a penalty for death, it's a pretty fuckin' good one. You don't know when or where you might need it but you know if the devs are even remotely competent they'll have put in at least one pretty important part where that'll come up, and now you're locked out of it. It's like the emotional equivalent of that "I get to hit you once, but I won't tell you when" thing.
Bought it two times, once on gog and once on steam
Marble nest>pathologic 2>original
It's surprising how great marble nest is.
honestly at this point i would gladly buy the bachelor dlc.
>the person assigned with inventing a cure would rather nuke the place instead
Nuking the place out IS a cure. Let's not forget how your dear old papa solved the outbreak last time, OK?
It's actually incredibly characteristic of the developer. I would by absolutely NO means say it's better than Pathologic 2, but I do have to say that it is good enough that frankly, it deserves to be polished out and released as a stand-alone product.
It does not need much. Saving feature, fixed loading times, proper door animation, few small tweaks and it's ready to go.
Isidor realized that it was a mistake. The town needs to be vaccinated.
I would gladly put the money up front, even. And I am afraid that it being paid is frankly the only way the studio can finishing this mammoth of a project. But I am afraid that no matter what, if they announced Bachelor being paid, all hell will break loose PR-wise.
They should really work on their optimization. Do you guys think that modders could possibly fin the engine?
Dad you're supposed to use a WEAKER version of a disease in a vaccination, you irresponsible twat.
>better music
>better optimization
>had some action scenes where you
>half of survival mechanics nerfed, so demo plays pretty comfy
>even without any combat so much shit happends in one day so you can replay it over and over
It was a really great demo, i saw many people on YouTube who played it and really enjoyed the thing
It surprised me that it had some cool cutscenes where you break guy’s neck and where sticky wakes you up. In pathologic 2 most scenes are static as fuck, characters mostly just stay still and don’t do anything
I still don’t understand isidor’s motivation? Did he wanted to free kin or save city i dunno. Simon’s motivation is even more mysterious
Oyun literally explains it to you, his motives were complex
They both want to kill the town and free the people from the earth.
It's funny you say that, because I feel that Pathologic 2 is incredibly alive to me, and the characters are vastly more mobile and shit. I guess that is that to me, Pathologic 1 is still the main frame of reference. Trust me, compared to that, characters in Pathologic 2 are alive as fuck.
Is it true that Rubin is trying to make panacea from |Simon's body?
Atmosphere makes them alive, but physically they don’t do much. The very noticeable examples is Grief, dude is so expressive when you talk to him yet he sits ALL the time. Even in nocturnal ending when everyone goes into steppe he just fucking sits like his butt hurts all the time. Most cutscene where you supposed to do shit(like first mugger assault where you kill 3 guys) is skipped completely and then dialogue just pops out
He was actually pretty much alive until rubin killed him and made a vaccine out of his body
Omg so many mistakes have been made and I am on my day 4. I have no immunity booster sold them. Dumbest shit I have done. Also a lot of other shit I didn't knew abot Maybe it's good to restart on day 1 on some some save? Why start a new game?
Which character will they release first do you think?
Changeling or Bachelor?
The fact that they actually do change locations actually does that. Even if you run into a fair bit of clear dopplergangers at times.
In the original Pathologic, there was - as far as I can tell, ONE instance of any character ever being anywhere else but their designated spot in their designated house. You would never see things like accidentally stumbling upon Lara fighting with Rubin, or seeing all of the towns key personnel assembling in the City Hall.
The fact that there are days where I don't know where a particular character is - as in the case of me being nervous as FUCK about Lara as she was listed as "In danger" but she wasn't home, or at Rubin's place, or Notkin being sick but not being in his hideout are to me still kinda miraculous compared to the original game.
And small details like Fatso sometimes sitting, other times standing up are something I cherish. Again: it's a matter of a frame of reference.
But you really have to remember: the developers are creating a MASSIVE thing out of very, very little. They really have to cut corners everywhere they can. Characters having fully animated daily routines would be fantastic, and maybe one day some crazy AAA studio will pick this up and decides to make their take on Pathologic-em-up with proper AAA scale budget.
But here we have a game that had to create highly immersive sandbox with about 30+ hours of gameplay (actually, 90+ because they were working on all three campaigns simultaneously for most of the time) with what? 300k dollars? Not even that, if you detract taxes and Kickstarter provizo it's more like 250k.
What happens if you let Anna take the second babby? Where is she taking them, even? I like her enough to consider she's probably not eating them, but... I'd rather not tempt fate.
Mark straight up says Bachelor is up next.
Changeling is too meta to be released not-last.
Welcome to the Pathologic, bitch.
But in all seriousness: this will happen to everyone, and it's part of the experience. I recommend trying to improvise and pushing as far as you can. There are always ways out, you just have to be more creative.
For an instance, if you do not have immunity boosters, just brew tonics, they are for the most part much better anyway. I had zero stockpile of them as well, traded all in with womenfolk for food or stuff to further trade with kids.
If it ever comes out, it's going to be Dankovsky next, without a doubt. Changling is just... way too weird.
The original, you could not even unlock her unless you finished at least one of the other two campaigns.
Where the fuck is saburov on the day that aglaya comes to town
You don't need to start over unless you're in a diseased spiral.
Immunity is the easiest resource to get, you can get lots of tinctures by harvesting herbs at night in steppe.
You will however miss stuff if you just focus on acquiring resources so maybe it's best to start over and have surplus of them.
The ending gives a HUGE hint that bachelor is next. I doubt they will ever release clara since she is pretty unpopular and her role as the antagonist seems the best for me
Also immunity actually gradually regenerates over time if you aren't already infected. Or at least it does while you sleep. So you don't have to worry too much about it. Protective clothing is usually more important anyway.
serious question, where are all the female cows? I never once saw a female bull in pathologic 1 nad there are none in second game to my knowledge too. Do bulls just multiply via mitosis ?
>he doesn't know
Bulls are part of the earth. They just come out of the earth.
Or there's a big titty cowgirl gf somewhere in steppe god i wish i had her.
>I doubt they will ever release clara
This is even dumber than the "IPL will close down before releasing anything" doomposting.
You can't see any animals unless they're your special friend.
>Do bulls just multiply via mitosis?
Pretty much
The fact that you'll get to see any of them is a bit of a miracle, given the circumstances.
One can fairly easily assume that those that have not been slaughtered are out of the city, in the pastures in the steppes, tended to by Odong's and nomads. They only herd the animals into the city to be slaughtered, otherwise they don't keep them in the near vicinity. And with the factory and Abatoir shut down day before your arrival, they probably herded them away.
The few bulls that are currently left in the town are there because they have a religious and symbolic role for locals, so they haven't grinded them into mincemeat yet.
I know they're part of the earth and all that, it's just that there's also a cow in the size chart in the artbook so I assumed maybe it's like the same thing like with dwarfs, where the females are hidden away
THE GODDAMN KIN ARE STEALING ALL THE COWS
Again, the cattle isn't routinely kept in the city.
Would not be surprising me, the bunch of degenerated cow-fuckers they are. Fucking cretins.
He was way too young and egdy. New design is more fitting and mature (he was old enough to have his own laboratory after all). I kind of wonder if the inspiration for the final design came from movie Raskolnikow (1923).
So in the end what are Albinos?
Just some "normal" steppe lifeform?
if they come from the earth then why the need to have genitals?
pretty much
Why do we need genitals if we don't use them?
same reason herb brides have tits
bulls should just come in burger shapes already, damnit mother bodho
a normal knife or a menku finger which one deal more damage?
He looks more like Bazarov to me from Fathers and Sons
I want to punish daniil with my dick
but herb brides aren't made from the erf
>Fathers and Sons
Interesting. Never read anything by Turgenev user. Would you recommend him? I love Shalamov, Dostoevsky and Strugatsky bros but honestly dislike Tolstoy.
Yes, a great piece of literature
I was writing a big post but then I realized some inconsistencies about the Kin
>Herb brides are made of Earth according to the Haruspex after cutting one open
>they are unable to reproduce with normal humans because they are "too different"
>they are also slowly going extinct so they are considering fucking their brothers, meaning they reproduce using genitals
>the Haruspex's parents are a male kin and a female human
>apart from worms and brides there are male kin, female kin and child kin characters
Did humans discover a tribe of savage steppe humanoids and somehow manage to coexist or are all humans just Kin that eventually left mother behind and stopped being made of earth?
Such interesting lore behind the kin, shame the Haruspex is as good as it gets
Menkhu Blade, by a massive margin. I think it's the most lethal melee weapon in the game besides a low-durability lockpick.
That said, it dulls incredibly fast when used in combat. One, maybe two people and it's down a notch. And you want to keep it sharp if you are taking advantage of autopsies.
Just checked and it was translated to my native language. I guess I have an evening planned then, thank you user.
i honestly think that the part where he cuts up the bride in the abattoir and where he sees "earth" inside her was somewhat not literal, as in he saw organs alright and the comparison to earth was just a figure of speech, as after all tracing the lines on a corpse is just like re-creating the creating of the world,
i think the closest comparison i can give is Catholics and their belief that they consume the body of christ during mass. We can't forget what's the meaning behind the word haruspex - an ancient priest who did divination from animal organs. Humans like the asian looking steppe kin males and females are made of flesh for sure, worms are made from guts possibly to judging from the talk with young vlad. They still have organs you can harvest too. So this makes them part human part beasts. I think the fact they say "they're made from earth and clay" is mostly just an artistic figure of speech, at least when it comes to humans and worms, bulls might be different but they're still made of meat after all even if earth "births" them
Best boy of course
Why sticky is allowed to have two dads?
>TFW I don't intend to play the game but I still read all the Pathologic threads because of how fascinating the game sounds
So is it really that hard to play or does it just require a lot of getting used to before it clicks?
I'm sitting on top of a thought and I need some loreboys to help out, because I can't remember if this was straight up told to you, implied, or if I'm just making up shit.
Steppe lore has it that tywre grows from blood. You pour blood over the roots to grow twyre, Murky talks about hearing the dead through it, the Worms wanted you to "water the earth" with blood in the original, and in the Diurnal ending where you basically kill Mother Boddho, twyre dies too.
Peter's drunk off twyre all the time, it's implied (or stated? can't remember) he was absolutely soused when he designed the Polyhedron. Drinking twyre in 2 lets you "see" things you couldn't before. It fucks with the senses enough to change people's physiology, if we assume that's not merely handwave excuses why you're hungry every half hour.
Am I reaching if I think that there's some kind of cyclical fuckery going on here? Twyre growing off the lake of bull blood underground got Peter so drunk he dreamed up the Polyhedron, and then that same blood spawned the plague that was supposed to be the metaphysical counter-force for the Polyhedron. Something about the blood, distilled through twyre and then again through twyrine, both created it and is attempting to destroy it.
Is there something to this? Bachelor's route in 2 will probably clear up more of this since it'll presumably be more focused on the Polyhedron.
It's not hard, it's just old gamedesign from before 2008 where game can fuck you and not be sorry for it.
Murky has canon autism and was mistaking twyrine sounds for dead people voices
Twyre doesn't make you see anything, just dulls your senses enough that you can hear stuff from far away, this is the canon explanation for how it works, though it affecting the body is also canon as seen by the effects of tinctures
Twyrine also grows on it's own, and Herb Bridens can make the Earth love them and have herbs grow trying to touch them
Not really, the only hard part is understanding that the game is designed to be impossible to 100% and fully expects you to make decisions like "fuck the main quest, I'm starving and I can't spare time for it" or "fuck this sidequest, it's not worth my time"
It's not hard to play in the same way [game series you consider difficuly] is hard in that one fuckup leads to dying and starting over. You'll probably fuck up a lot and will feel like you ought to start over, but unlike a lot of games it just keeps going when you fuck up. The hard part is getting over that feeling and soldiering on when you fuck up, trying to salvage what you can.
There's a lot of people in these threads asking "it's day x and i feel like i fucked up, do i restart?" and that's the thing you have to not do unless you're caught in an inescapable death loop.
Basically just do what you can, do what you think you ought to, and then live with the consequences. It's meant to be played that way.
tl;dr just do it, fagit
Poor IPL. Sucks that we live in a world where they can't give us the experience they actually want to give us. Fuck plebs.
damn, and here I was thinking magical booze was behind everything. I mean if ever there was a truly Russian plot that would be it.
>Herb Bridens can make the Earth love them and have herbs grow trying to touch them
Don't they have to cover their hands and feet in blood, though?
>just dulls your senses enough that you can hear stuff from far away
Well that's the Haruspex's logical explanation for the effects, but logical explanations in this game are often only partially right.
There's difficulty and then there's just luddite gamedesign.
If a player character knows where person X lives then there is no reason not to mark it on map when quest says go to person X.
The quests where you have to find stuff without known location aren't marked anyway.
no, they split the earth with their feet by dancing, making the plants grow
How fast does the infection kill people? Should I postpone healing them completely if their infection level is low?
Do you like taking chances? If they're infected, there's always a chance they'll die, even if you treat them, in a day.
I don't know if it was due to the feeble lighting of the place, due to the soundtrack or due to the fact that there was a naked herb bride watching, but the autopsy of Nara was quite erotic
It's a literal diceroll. Up to you if you want to/have to take the risk but I wouldn't let any of the kids stay sick longer than a day. People you don't particularly care about can stay infected longer, just give them your best antibiotics and cross your fingers.
Its not hard in the sense that you'll be restarting sections over and over again like other traditionally hard games. It feels more difficult than it actually is. You just constantly feel like you're on the brink of a disaster.
Can you download Marble Nest anywhere at this point?
Win+R
then type steam://install/607730
I want to marry a worm waifu
Hey, I see there is a lot of IPL fans in the thread - maybe you guys can explain something to me about Tension games?
Why was the “Voice of Color” version so heavily abridged compared to the original? They literally took out like 70% of all dialogue and story and instead added a disembodied voice that just painstakingly explains the whole plot to you, point by point.
And instead of a complete freedom they made a critical path and added an awkward quest line to guide you along it.
I just really don’t get it - what was the logic behind it? It’s the only case in the whole industry I can think of where a developer released an opposite of expansion - a version of the game that is less than an original.
What was the point? I completed both games and this been bothering me for years.
>How fast does the infection kill people?
The game rolls a 100 sided dice, basically. If the number is lower than the person's infection level, they die. If it's higher, then their infection level grows by about 40 or so (they usually start at around 30, I think). You can lower their infection by anti-biotics, by which you decrease the likelihood of the diceroll being against you. However, unless you use high-grade anti-biotics they will not restore more than the infection adds with each day, meaning that each day, the probability of them dies is going to be slightly higher than the day before. Also, since the infection mutates each day, you will have to figure out which anti-biotics to use each day anew.
Most likely, people will not die the very same day they are infected, but they will very likely not last more than two days without care.
I've been keeping Griff alive for four days now though. He is a sturdy little bastard, I'll give him that.
>[cut left]
>[keep cutting left]
>[cut straight]
yes, that was a good fap
i dont think keep cutting left was the correct one because she says you're cutting her spleen, but i also think you can't fuck this process up anyway
Madalore tweeted that the game was good. Could he save this game's sales?
>[cut down]
>shut the fuck up, woman
>I know what I'm doing
>what the hell is all this in you
>So is it really that hard to play or does it just require a lot of getting used to before it clicks?
It's not a "fun" experience (though if you let yourself get immersed, you will laugh at time with it) and it can be very stressful. If you have no clue what you are doing, the odds are you'll miss major features and can easily get yourself stuck in a very unpleasant cycle of barely surviving a day: if you are attentative, (or if you ask people around here), you'll discover the game is giving you plenty of options out if it - it's just that they might not occur to you or be immediately visible.
Other than that - the game is intentionally trying to "stretch you", to stress you out and feel uncomfortable, but it is a lot more permisive than it seems. It likes to occasionally dick you over though.
You have to either accept it's own rules, give in to the stress and let your self be immersed, or you'll stay on the surface and will feel little more than frustration mixed with curiosity.
Bless you, oynon.
who?
Do children stashes actually work? I've been putting in the same amount of items I took from them but they stopped appearing on my map day 4, so now I'm just looting the shit out of them.
Bro, just because they don't appear doesn't mean they don't keep adding stuff. Do you really operate solely based upon what is marked on the map? If you spend your entire time in this game only following markers, you will lose.
i think there's some specific psychiatric disorder for people who get turned on by the sight of flesh and organs
i had to redo the abbatoir like 10 times, so i'm pretty positive that everything is fine
The only somewhat major youtuber to cover Pathologic and not shit all over it.
They don't appear on the map, but they still restock on each day provided you haven't cleared them out entirely. Also keep in mind that the ones the game points out for you are by no means the only stashes, there is a bunch more around the city. You can discover them by accident and being attentative, or you'll be lead to them by the song of Twyre on some days.
They will restock with a lot less than there is in them the first time you open them, but there is always something useful (again, provided you aren't a fucking cheap-ass): couple of pins, chalk, nuts or the odd token or two. Good stuff.
If you loot them and not put anything new in them, they will not restock on the next day. I do not think value of what you are leaving there matters, though it may.
I think there are more people that would appreciate the game, though Mandalore is probably the biggest in this regard.
I actually bumped into a somewhat definite end for the cache's quest. I think it's around day 8 or so where you find a note that leads you to a place near saburovs' where there'a dude standing there, the quest is marked with the thought that kids found the real killer. He was the dude who was leaving some notes in the caches too, you kill him and get a note. You go to the notkin's place and talk with the kids. I always stole all the shit from the caches and the kids scorned me and said they didn't want to play. I think you only have to leave a single item in the cache anyway but im not sure, so the caches work but I think you're kinda forced to steal all the shit anyway
How did you guys feel about the endings? They seemed rushed to me but I still liked seeing how everyone ended up.
>male is a worm-man
>female is a half-naked dancer
i thought the Russian were better than the Japanese
Well nigger how am I supposed to know if I'm looting a children's cache or just a random chest?
All of the chests that you are looting either have children's drawings around or on them. Sure is funny how the guy that's stealing items from children is calling ME the nigger.
Wish there'd be more... I dunno, stuff to them. I did love all of the survivors' dialogues - and that you get a bit extra fluff on the dead folks.
As for the endings specifically, Diurnal is pretty much what I wanted so I'm happy with it. But Nocturnal doesn't really appeal to me in any way, though.
>I always stole shit
If you give back to the caches, you get a letter from a kid on day 10 saying they left some schmowders in some caches. I never did find those caches granted because I was too busy running around doing other shit, but apparently it pays off in the long run to not clean them out entirely.
I heard that in original they were free-willed women that decided to serve earth and dressed that way, in remake they a bit different
Can Fat Vlad and Vlad Jr die from dice rolls before you have to choose which to send to the Termitary? What happens then?
>females are beautiful
>males are disgusting
Isn't it like in the real world?
If both die, then you can't offer either one, and the Kin just end up dying off. I went in there to cure Taya and, besides the screaming, there were just massive piles of dead bodies.
untrue, the letter from the townsperson you get regardless, I always took all the shit from em and I still got the letter staying that "there are schmowders in the sleepyhead's caches" Problem is that on the day where you're given this note you don't really need schmowders anymore honestly so it's all kinda moot. The only real outcome of it is when I got scorned by the kids in the notkin's place that I was greedy, when they staged this elaborate plot for me to kill this guy in the "friday's yard"
Seems half-asses to me, just a bunch of dialogues and I didn’t felt that anything really mattered. In original it was basically the same but you could get a cool cutscene at least. Nocturnal ending feels like shit but at least it can get some emotion from player
>you don't really need schmowders anymore honestly so it's all kinda moot.
Yeah maybe if you know what you're doing. I was starving for schmowders at that point in the game. Problem for me is that I checked like 10 caches and none of them had any.
>thread is full of people shitting on the game
Uhhhhhhhh I thought this game was supposed to be kino???? WTF???? No wonder its selling like shit LMAO
Murky and Grace are the only characters who can't die up until a certain point.
both felt weird, hard to take the ending seriously when the game itself pushes the narrative of you being just useless puppets all the time, but yea they felt kinds strange and out of place.
I just hoarded nuts from the day from the cashes on the 2nd day quest, had like 10 of em on day 8, plus the panacea and 5 living blood vials from the abattoir
464980899 (you)
Where can I get spindle?
Kin women. Very rarely from houses. Don't remember the clothing stores selling them, but who knows.
I'm tired of this meme that this game is hard by any stretch. If you have a fucking functional brain you won't even die over 5-10 times. Sure you can get bad luck, but I'm actually beginning to believe I'm surrounded by invalids when I see posts like that. Literally the only difficult part of this game is sometimes giving people the best medicine still has them die, and that's just life.
BACHELOR
FUCKING
WHEN
Games industry has conditioned people to believe that any failure at any point on any level means the game is either hard or unfair. Hell, you see it a lot on this shithole, most people's idea of "hard" can be distilled into "I had to try a little bit but I still beat it first try ez".
I don't know if it's entirely just to blame people for this, the industry has worked very hard to get us into this mindset. But either way, here we are. If you can't 100% it first try it's bullshit artificial difficulty.
buy the game 3 more times and godovskii will think about it
Never, game didn't sell well enough. IPL will soon close. Sorry.
By the end of the year.
proof?
To be completely Frank, the game is relatively hard. Pretending that its not is similarly dishonest as claiming that it's unfair or badly designed. It's by no means unbeatable, but it can punish you very swiftly and it requires quite a lot of learning, especially if you go in blind and without prior experience with P1 or research.
You do have however a bit of a point that the problem is in many ways that of very narrow mind or custom: people are very strongly boxed into preconceptions of how games are supposed to work, and Pathologic 2, by sheer fact of doing things differently, get's completely misunderstood. In general it requires unlearning a lot of habits from other games, and people just aren't accustomed to it.
>that msic when inqusitor gets killed
so fucking lit
too bad i don't give a shit about aglaya
Anyone who somehow compromises the safety of your children deserves to get shot, to be fair.
I would not expect it sooner than in year. It is quite possible that it may get delayed quite a bit further if the financing turns out to be as much of an issue as we fear.
What? Are you having a stroke or something?
If only they didn't cut 90% of her dialogue
>tfw Aglaya was one of your favorite characters in the original
I will NEVER forgive IPL for fucking her up as much as they did in 2.
Also, how did this game still manage to feel rushed when in 2016 it seemed like the game was mostly finished? That was when the marble nest came out. It really doesn't look all that different to the final product looking back on it.
dont worry user, he is just dumb rationalist. They are blind to the true wonders of the world
i was surprised there was actually fuck all any abattoir and termitiery action, all we did is talk with teecheek a bit, fight some rogue worms in the termitiery, finish the gauntlet in the abattoir and that's about it of mingling with the steppe deep lore culture
I'm nearly finished with day 1 but my inventory is full, can I just stash my shit in any locker and be fine? What about the container next to the childhood friend that calls you GOb?
backers did not reach the stretch goal for improved abbatoir and termitary so IPL shafted it
you can safely store shit in Grif's, fat vlad's and lara's hideouts they won't vanish and you can keep stuff in there for days
thats still kinda shitty because i feel that should be the focal point of haruspex's gameplay, the abbatoir was a cool place and fighting the hugeass worms was a cool challenge, just feels like there should be a least more of it for haruspex
Yeah you can stick stuff in her drawers hue and it'll still be there the next day. Generally containers in named people's houses are fine, the ground and dumpsters are not. You'll have somewhere to stash your shit soon though, so remember where you're keeping things.
>Can't find gas masked fucker afterwards to kill him
S-sorry.
>reaching this stretch goal would allow us to make a full-fledged ethnographic expedition into The Termitary and The Abattoir. You’ll be able to see the daily life, the traditions, and the culture of a very peculiar working community of steppe butchers that live inside and retain multiple traits of a primitive society. It’s “a town inside The Town”, and it’ll contain loads of new content, quests, and experiences.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHY COULDNT THEY HAVE GOTTEN MORE MONEY
Lara's dresser right in her room should be completely safe, similarly Fat Vlad's one right next to the entrance.
You can also stash items in the room where you pick up food and knife at Lara's, but one of them does respawn new items on I think day 3, which could erase what you have put there.
Does ratto ALWAYS wake you up from your first sleep or only for the first time you have completely missed an event?
Lara, Grief and Vlad have large containers in their houses that are safe.
The smaller ones are not.
DO NOT stash your shit anywhere in any exterior locations though, and it's not wise to put things into Lara's smaller drawers in the room to the right. Things will be safe there for a few days, but eventually, those do reset.
feelsbadman, it would have been pretty amazing to be honest. All I wanted to is cuddle and hug a cute steppe worm waifu
After Patho 2 I think IPL should just stick with 2D games like Knock Knock for a bit. I want them to make more games and actually make money doing it. I don't want to wait another half a decade for the next IPL game.
I want to see them do the "Project Cold" that they talked about eons ago though. I think they are good at making solid 3D games, they just need a proper publisher backing them up and solid reserve funds.
I always get the dream with the kids and the door first. I don't think I've actually gotten the rat dream yet, and I'm on my second playthrough.
i think you need to sleep for a while, i got the ratte dream when i went to prison from saburov's so i had to sleep for a longer while, like till 7pm or so
>"Project Cold"
What?
Long, LONG time ago, I think before Cargo was released, Dybowsky gave an interview... somewhere about what they want to do as their new project. He mentioned this "Project Cold" (completely working name), which was supposed to go back closer towards Pathologic, with the story being centered around a small girl in a strange abandoned snowy town, protected/accompanied by mysterious magical beast.
Or something along those lines.
Anyway: IPL, comfy/creepy snowy city, fairy-tale-esque vibes... I fucking want to see that happen.
if my memory doesn't fail me, he later admitted he had given up on the project. as in, he felt the time for it had passed
I'd be surprised if they didn't have at least half a dozen full-fledged ideas kicking around in their skulls for things they want to do. They just need the money. Wish I wasn't so damn broke, I'd do more if I could.
It's pretty amazing leisure though.
RIP IPL
F
>if inhuman
Nigger humans are the only ones capable of doing that sort of thing, so it's actually human as FUCK.
DUDE DOOMPOSTING LMAO
kys retard
They explain that it's because opening up the body is forbidden, if the shank is left inside the wound it doesn't count as opening it up by their logic. Haruspex says that it's retarded
>day 9
>pretty much no quests popping up
>the ones that do are either dead ends or apparent side-quests
>6 characters dead
Did I fuck up? days 1-4 were frantic with running around talking to people and picking up quests. Now I'm struggling for ways to kill time.
Notkin died really early on from the infection in the spooky house, and he was on the list so I'm guessing thats whats screwed me
its actually not retarded
i love this game
Had you not found any shmowders by day 4?
There's one big major thing to do on day 9 and you'll probably find out soon enough what it is. Have you been to the Termitary yet?
It's the same logic that makes them incredibly strict about kids never handling sharp objects, but largely not giving a shit the kids play in infected districts and have formed their own armies that are plotting an all out war.
I do love how this game handles these things. I'm an anthropologist by trade and these people actually know how to create a clever and compelling cultures.
I talked to Lara and she said there was to be a reuinon of the four old friends at midnight but I didn't get an Icon anyone knows where it is and If I missed it?
I saw a few on some kids, but they were worth more than I had to trade and i was too busy with other stuff that I decided to just leave it up to chance for that night and hope the next day would be better, but he died the first night
Yeah, I went inside a few days back. When I met the Oyun in the village I walked past the Termitary on the way back, and a side door was unlocked. I killed the 4 worms the last day but there was no followup from it so far
Bonfire by the train tracks.
I remember the icon not showing up until pretty late, after nightfall. If it isn't midnight yet, maybe just try waiting?
thanks mate, but what train tracks south of the station?
First of all: someone post that Algaya speech about what good are people who can only follow markers on the map.
Second of all: have you already invited the other two?
Third:
"Going to bed at dusk is not always the best idea. Some events on take place at night."
You'll get a marker right after midnight.
It's close to where that Dog-Head was hiding on day 1. You'll see a fire from a distance, you can't miss it.
It only happens if you really do invite all of them.
how different are the narrative structure and quests from the first game? is day 10 still a mess for the spex
What I want to know is if a weapon is broken, does it still do more damage then my fist? Because if so then there's no point to repairing my knife. Also was wondering if I can ever cut open bodies without people getting pissed, since it's fine for me to slice up muggers but bad when I harvest their organs. desu not a fan of how everyone knows if you stole something or did a bad thing despite no witnesses, reminds me of bullshit like in rdr2 where as soon as ou attempt to rob a train you get a bounty instantly.
>Because if so then there's no point to repairing my knife
Apart from the fact that it'll break, and it costs MORE to repair it the lower it's durability is.
The only point I'll agree with is hunger drains a bit too fast.
Between posting that screenshot and now, I finally got stuck in an infection/hunger-induced death spiral. Woops.
I GUESS NEXT TIME I WON'T HELP MURKY, GOSH
day 9-10 are "dude what if we max one of your stat bars and you have to run around the map with max hunger/sleep"
day 11 is a boss fight
day 8 also has the main quest of getting 50 immunity boosters in a single day and carrying it to Taya
Anyone have some ideas for where the steppe in this might reasonably be located in Russia? I'm creating a dictionary for the steppe language in this game and would like to see where the language takes main inspiration from.
Yeah but does it do more damage then ky fists would even if it's shit durability? I had a broken rusty scalpel and I could still fight with it, there would just be text saying "Attack ineffective" at the bottom of the screen.
Mongolian language, IIRC.
But this isn't set in Russia, dude.
Do stronger concoctions (using rarer plants) have stronger immunizing effects?
there is already one on the steam guides
I sure hope I'm gonna get a break on day 5 because right now I don't even have time to loot houses, especially since I wasted a lot of time waiting for a plague cloud to dissipate in a house with a kid and then I just ran through it anyway
Have 5 shmowders though
Big F
Yes. Normal tinctures are better than pills, plus tinctures are even better
>how different are the narrative structure and quests from the first game?
Very, I barely recognized any of it. The structure is entirely different because of the lack of classical quest structure, the story takes a pretty damn different path with far more emphasis on more personal involvement of Haruspex with the children, I don't think I've recognized any particular quest from my old Pathologic playthrough.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
Bachelor > Haruspex > dying from the plague > Cringeling
Capella is best girl, Grace best daughterfu
Based and dandypilled
Bachellor > Haruspex, but Termites > Kains, Capella is a lot less sweet than she used to be, Lara is still the best girl, Murky is daughter material. Grace is just stoned out of her mind.
But Grace is for Peter
> butt termites
in my ending she got to live with the saburoffs
because anna and peter got infected along with notkin on the first possibility
Son of a bitch, I never made the connection between lockpicks and the whole opening up the body stuff.
I tried to draw Dandy using classical palette. This game has an amazing art direction. I remember last time I was amazed by art in a game so much was when I played first Thief; the cutscenes were so distinguishable that nothing that came later can compare. Anons, can you recommend me other games with some interesting artistic choices? I liked Dishonored, Darkwood and Stalker.
>because
Nah, that happens so long as Saburovs are alive.
It's funny that Anna and Peter have some of the best interactions of all adults, yet they're the first ones to be infected.
You're right, thanks for letting me know. Still gonna work on my dictionary if only to see the comparisons to actual steppe languages, but it looks like the dictionary online is pretty complete already.
Capella used to be best girl but she's channeling too much of her mom, I find.
How do you even get Grace to live with Peter? I told the lady to fuck off and let Grace stay in the cemetary.
Good work, user! This game needs more fanart.
>I told the lady to fuck off
Don't do that. Simple as that.
BEST FANART FOR BEST BOY
Good work. IPL games generally always attracted top-notch fan art, which I think is testament of how good they are. They inspire.
As for games with similar feeling: Well you CAN try The Void by the same developers, but be prepared to be even more fucked over than in Pathologic 2.
Otherwise, I can't think of much. There is a tiny, interesting but ultimately pretty bad Ukrainian game called "Cradle" that clearly was massively inspired by IPL's work (except everything went absolutely wrong during it's development).
Cryostasis also might be interesting to you.
When will I get to HOOK AND PULL THE LIES?
Capella is a shit, grace is autistic and doesn’t give a fuck about (you).
Murky is the best daughteru
>that clearly was massively inspired by IPL's work (except everything went absolutely wrong during it's development).
That wasn't a feature?
pretty much this, grace likes you more than kapella in the second game honestly, kapella is all like "I don't like you, YOU don't like me, but i respecc you." BITCH you dont know what i like or nor. IT was kinda annoying
WELL?
I like it. P2 does visually remind me of Dishonored, but I can't think of many other games like that.
Shortly after you know and cut the lines.
Next year, probably.
It literally doesn't matter what you answer, his next line doesn't change
Thank you anons. I have a vague memory of playing The Void long time ago but I don't exactly remember much of it. Maybe it's a good time to revisit. I've never heard of Cradle before and it looks promising. Thanks for the recommendation user, I'll definitely try it out.
As expected of the bachelor, who holds a degree.
He looks like he's gonna carve you up and eat your liver.
with fava beans
>That wasn't a feature?
In this case, they did not withstand it. The game had clearly good ideas and ambitions, and a lot of care went into it, but ultimately they ended up releasing a shell of a game, clearly barely 10% of what they were aiming for.
It's a shame because what little is there and functional is really, really fascinating.
The Void is good if you can get past the MASSIVE accessibility wall it erects when you start playing it.
As for Cradle: It's interesting, but I can't in good conscience call it a good game. It's not. Still, if you pirate or have disposable income and won't regret throwing a bit away for the sheer novelty, and the few beautiful moments and ideas it has in otherwise terrible whole, then go for it.
Absolute based
Amazing work
Capella is best girl, but the mistress you speak to at the end isn't Capella.
I agree on the rest though.
That's what he always looks like.
I do hope you'll put them up somewhere where the devs can see this stuff. They generally appreciate fan-art, often like to feature it and re-send/draw attention to it: I think they would be both proud and very flattered to see that. It's a very good work, and should get some form of spotlight.
welp, he is a snake man after all
Kids will say anything. Daniil is the best and only hope for this town.
So... how did Block's people get the kids out of the polyhedron?
very carefully
If you think blowing it up is a proper solution, sure.
Also, fuck the Kains, honestly. I like Daniil just fine but I hate that his ending benefits these bastards.
Still no solution to shitty performance?
Do we at least know which settings are causing this?
>best boy when Haruspex exists
The "no proper object culling" setting
>day 3 ends
>Everyone rolls 6 and gets aids
okay i guess...
Can i reload old saves even if i get an ending or will it be lost forever?
you can, it doesnt over write anything after you get one ending or anything like that
I thought this was just part of the ending instead of an easter egg.
Are day 10 shmowder a lie?
I just need a single one what the hell
Anybody completed the game with all characters alive yet?
a few people did, doesn't change anything apart from the fact you can talk to em on day 12 on the diurnal ending
Thank you kind user, feel free to post it wherever you want if you genuinely think the devs would like it. I really cheer for them and I hope the studio will be able to continue their amazing work and deliver us Dandy boy&Changeling routes.
>the sheer novelty, and the few beautiful moments and ideas it has in otherwise terrible whole
That's all the recommendation I need. Flawed things are usually the most memorable.
I never found them, though I didn't have the time to be looking through all the stashes anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if that letter is just a troll. Fucking kids.
I think it's bullshit. i've tried to look around the town and basically i noticed that the notes inside of them were generated at the moment in order. I thought that IPL wanted you to open something like 10-15 stashes before giving you a shmowder so I just gave up
i don't know, there's even a drunkard who comes you just to say "drink twyrine so that stashes with shmowders will be revealed to you". but even with a map of all the stashes I simply can't find a single one
I found both. There are more caches than the three or four you get quested through at the beginning. I drank to find mine. Not every POI is a cache with schmowder. DESU I savescummed to find them both, reloading when the POI was not a schmowder.
>three or four
To add, for the record, I think I had like 8 total that I checked.
