unironically why wouldn't you want a framerate cap? Isn't a consistent experience better than something that constantly fluctuates?
larger numbers on fps counter despite game being choppy af
anime
Not really.
Example VC PC port was way harder without the framerate cap, which some people liked.
Choice? I play on a gysnc monitor so there's zero downsides for me so why not get every frame possible.

When a game gives you a room to heal up a bunch, you begin to feel the looming threat of a boss battle

Made in japan
Pixel/retro art from someone that came out Tumblr.
Game having to do anything with Tumblr.
That is a red and white flag.
as said, a framerate cap usually means that the devs got lazy on the backend and made shit framerate dependent. There is no benefit to this except to save them a minuscule amount of time.

You're confusing forced frame rate caps with a limiting feature. Every game should offer both vsync and a cap/limiter for people who want it.
Unless the cap is something ridiculous like 30 or 60 I don't mind, I play RE6 and IW just fine with their caps at 125 and 91/125 fps. I have a 60hz monitor and I'll never "upgrade" to 144 or even bigger memes.
144hz isn't a meme crackhead
VRR nullifies this justification
>spend hard earned money buying top of the line parts
>2 grand for a graphics card alone
>some lazy devs shit game, barely held together by spaghetti won't go above 30 because he couldn't figure out how to get the physics to work
every fucking time, it's always some stupid bullshit and it's always some awful framerate. If it was capped at 120 and could go no higher, not a care in the world. If it was capped at 60, maybe if it's something I desperately want to play. But anything else and just in general, can fuck off.

This especially so
