I like Grim Dawn, think I would like this? Final cut or the whole pack?

Final Cut is the trilogy and the installer alone is 20 GB, you colossal fucking retard.

Every time I try to play it I lose interest halfway through.

I also hated having legendary drops for different classes in a single player game.

You can mod your skills through Notepad. For example, you can edit the beginner skills of one class to be end game skills of another.

You can also edit the drop rate. Wouldn’t recommend it.

If you like tower defense, you can buy the Anthology that have all the games plus a tower defense one, if you don't like TD, buy the 3 games separately.

I was about to buy the complete pack at under 2$, but yeah, it says 20GB, and although I have fast internet and can afford the download, I'd rather not waste so many ressources on a throwaway game.

It's not terrible, but it's basically a weird titanquest clone. I played through Final Cut a while back after getting it on discount.
Won't stack up to Grim Dawn, PoE, or even Diablo 3, much less D2 or TQ, but it's still fun-ish.

The best part of the game is unironically Katarina's voice actress and some of the dialogue/humor.

Is it worth a single playthrough for the story?
Is the final cut worth it as a seamless experience or is it better to just play the 3 games separately?
What is it about Katarina and what her purpose?

If you're a fan of the Van Helsing stuff and semi-lighthearted vampire/techno-sorcery shenanigans maybe. I didn't hate it.

Haven't played anything but Final Cut but my experience was a completely seamless affair. It just goes and goes and goes and eventually it's over. The 'cutover' between 1-2-3 is pretty minor and your character/etc all translates over nicely. Probably better to just play final Cut, they devised it that way on purpose, y'know?

It's old. The graphics aren't impressive, it's kind of like TitanQuest-tier. Not awful i guess, and they do the job. There's a couple neat visuals at some points and a couple of the major final bosses aren't half bad. Character animations/etc are all rather lackluster.
>Katarina/What's her purpose
She's your helper/AI partner/pet. You manage her, she fills in the gap in your build as a healer or tank or dps, more or less. She's also the in-built narrator and clever banter provider for the game. The VA is good for her and she's got more than a few actually clever quips and one-liners, if you're into that. She's funny. I'd say the humor and katarina kind of carry the game as a whole.

Altogether it's kind of a 4/10 or high 3.X/10; worth a play if you're really out of backlog or other good things and really craving a diablo-esque.

Don't know what all of the hate is about. It's a fair ARPG in the Titan Quest / Grim Dawn tier.

I keep laughing at all of the people who keep convincing themselves that Anthology is the better deal. Final cut is 1-3 plus all DLC. That's $4.50. Death Trap is $2. That's $6.50 total. Anthology is $7.50 plus missing some DLC. Furthermore, you're essentially getting two nearly identical games in Anthology vs Final Cut.

About the only legit gripe is the size but Final Cut really is 3 games in one so... Maybe a bit on the justified size.

Just get FC & DT and you're done. Enjoy.
