It's a civ sci fi spinoff where humanity flees earth having destroyed it and due to infighting they crash land on their intended new planet. It's hard to explain without playing it, but a lot of effort went into the philosophy behind it with a lot of (relevant and not hamfisted/pretentious) references//quotes and the general themes it goes into are well done. The main narrative is quite interesting with leaders you initially thought were extremists/stupid seeming much more sensible as technology advances and their irrational fears become more tangible despite being fairly light in direct story as a 4X game.

It is also the best civ game. Quite old though and the UI will be too much for many casuals.

Elder Scrolls lore is unironically one of the most useful pieces of fiction for understanding a lot out the more complex metaphysics on philosophy.
It had mythopoeia, Platonism, solipsism etc. literally as tangible physical occurrences.
Obviously TeS didn't invent anything new or amazing but the way a lot of lore was presented helped me grasp philosophy once I started getting into it.
