>Who's your favorite character? I already know mine, it's Majima >Just finished 0, is it fine to skip right to 6? >Who is the coolest boss in the series? For me, it's gotta be Kuze. >After 300 hours, I finally got a new platinum! Love this game! >*"Ah shit, here we go again" meme with Mahjong as the background*
>Fell in love with 0 >Had more fun completing K1 though basegame was weaker >Already shitting myself because there will be a draught after completing K2 and I'm only cleaning up now
I don't know maybe like in every single other fandom out there most people just hop on the ride but don't love the train?
Jaxson Thompson
Playing my first Yakuza and I'm about 20 hours in and starting to get a little tired of all the enemies being the same. Do they get more varied later on?
Nicholas Edwards
>draught after K2
3, 4, and 5 on PS3 are perfectly playable, and only 3 will cost much at all to get ahold of. Although I can understand wanting to wait for the remasters, hopefully we hear more at E3.
5 is the best in the series, unless you're stupid enough to take the stories seriously.
Jackson Price
It's little samey unless you experiment with weapons which was fun for me. The last boss fight in Y0 was fucking nice.
Adrian Smith
You know I've been a Yakuza fan since the PS2 but I welcome all the 0 babies if it means we get more Yakuza games and more people play these great games. Still hate the retards that ask if they can skip to 6. Nigga just wait. If you're that desperate play Judgement.
I thought I made clear I want to play them on PC. If things turn bad I'd even get a busted PS3 to play them but as it stands I'll be hopefull and buy anything Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio throws on there.
And don't worry, though I get easily tangled up in cheap drama but it's the sincerity and passion that gets me, even if they are frankensteins of each other. But in the end, kinda like Metal Gear, the people arround Nagoshi and himself, know how to make a bullshit story fun and serious at the right moments.
Dylan Robinson
Why is Kiwami combat so shit compared to Zero
Jason Butler
Kiryu is obviously superior and only brainlets don't understand his manly autism.
Isaac Collins
i agree with the rest but whats wrong with kuze? i played the other games and liked what they did with him
Christopher Bailey
Someone explain to me how to play Mahjong. The in-game tutorial fucking sucks and the tutorials I look up online are way too in-depth for a beginner. It's the only thing in the game I'm struggling to do.
Zachary Murphy
DAME DA NE DAME YO DAME NA NO YO
Kayden Price
What's wrong with Kiwami? I think the boss design is shit but the additions they made are good.
I typed up a bunch earlier and don't feel like doing it again so I refer you to: If you have any questions just ask, it's not a hard game the instructions just make it seem like it is.
You'll be waiting for a bit, we don't even have 3 through 5 announced for western PS4 yet let alone PC, and then you have 6 and Judgment to wait for as well. It's probably going to be a while particularly since they just dropped three games in less than seven or eight months on the PC community.
Landon Ortiz
>Ameribros in full force >Bait OP >Yakuza thread >PS vs PC
>Tripfaggot crosslinking threads Is this reverse false flagging or what?
Easton Allen
>It's probably going to be a while particularly since they just dropped three games in less than seven or eight months on the PC community. I hope not but considering how piss poorly K2 has done and how slow af QLOC is at doing anything substantial with their patch, I'm inclined to think you're right. Everything appears to be kind of on hold for Judgement, which they are pushing very hard. (harder than they usually push).
Adam King
>bouncer missions almost made me quit, I did them all in 2 nights. Tedious is hardly adequate. Legend is the last thing left get, but I'm fucking burned out desu and I'm waiting to see what QLOC/Kaladien are going to do to fix the stability. So I can have a smoother experience on my last go.
Grayson Martinez
I mean I'll buy Judgement if it lands on PC aslong they port the rest in order.
Brayden Brooks
yes that would be very nice, I'm hoping they announce it for PC at E3. I'm also hoping we at least get some news on 3-5 remasters coming to the west, even if they're just for PS4 rn. they'll eventually make their way to PC.
Parker Gray
I get it, you played it years before I did so that makes me a loser for just playing it. You happy now, faggot? You feel good about yourself?
Asher Campbell
It'll take a bit so give it some time because until you sort of grasp the gist of it it's going to be confusing with a bunch of odd terms and if you start stealing tiles you'll start getting frustrated because your hands that look valid won't work. It's an easy game if you just take it slowly and learn some of the easier hands and what to discard early on and what not to discard later on. Keep in mind the game is mostly luck of the draw more than anything, it's more about making the best of what you have and hoping for the best.
I'm so confused what you mean by this. The guy needed help and I checked the archive for what I was looking for, that's all.
Adrian Harris
Dancing arround bouncer missions but I really wonder when they get hard after doing 24 of them, though you divide that number through 3. Otherwise waiting till tomorow to become sober and do Karaoke. And fuck Otometal. Song is pretty cool but not after painfully getting it to 950 in Kiwami and having to learn it again now in K2 with completly different design philosophy.
Benjamin Williams
5 runs like garbage so wait for the remaster.
Ryan Sullivan
it's easy, you just get 4 sets of 3 and a pair
Julian Stewart
The last three missions on all difficulties with the Amons are where it gets hard. The others are pretty manageable, but Pandemonium itself basically requires cheesing with weapons, the Bloody set, and Extreme Heat.
Logan Morris
The last 4 are a pain.
Justin Rodriguez
tell me about the bloody set again, wearing bloody chainmail, some bick dick defense and the gay bracelet*.
*the one in rainbowcolors
Levi Turner
In 1 why did Kazama/Kashiwagi give such a cunt of an underling to Nishikiyama? Did he think he could handle him? Was it a test? I can't believe that he was their top guy
David Rivera
didn't he make it clear he was infact the top guy when he got nishikiyama all the money he wanted, albeit in a way nishiki didn't agree with?
Jayden Russell
>Bloody Chainmail >Bloody Binding >Payback Ring (The one that acts like an RTSR where you deal more damage in critical health). Wearing all three gives you the best outfit combo in the game which negates the negative defense the two bloody equips give you while giving you even more attack in the process.
Tyler Edwards
That guy was competent since he did give Nishiki the money for his sister's surgery. The problem is that Nishiki was just a shit leader that couldn't keep his guys in line. Once he goes to the dark side you see he finally becomes a family leader that demands respect from his underlings.
Andrew Martin
I thought he got that because the doctor paid up his debt which is why they wanted the 30 mil in the first place not realising Nishikiyama's family was the one holding the debt at that point. or did I misunderstand that plot point?
Hunter Nguyen
Sacred wood armor for the fucking Gunslinge Amon can help (though when I did badly and my health was critical, I was running around wals and waited in the corners to do a heat action on him)
Nathan Sullivan
The first transgression was him picking up money from a different territory
Christopher Fisher
I think that happened after, user
Landon Kelly
>Yakuza threads when 0 and Kiwami first came to PC used to be comfy and fun >Now yet another series is gonna be plagued with elitists for not "playing the games right"
You faggots ruin every series with this shit
Cameron Nelson
Kazama/Kashiwagi thought Nishiki could handle himself and had higher expectations for him due to Kiryu, at least as far as I grasped it. The underling himself isn't the problem, it's Nishiki's leadership. Nishiki was always following in Kiryu's footsteps and didn't know how to handle anything once he had to actually lead. He always put on the face but couldn't put his foot down. Remember that he was pissed his #1 was taking from Kashiwagi's territory and instead of putting his foot down he basically meekly told him it's not right and that's it.
You don't need to worry about that, Extreme Heat will let you survive anything, Payback Ring will activate, and all your attacks will deal double damage. Add onto this any of the free swords you can get or even the poison kodachi and you will shred through those missions killing any mook in one hit and taking off more than 70% of a bar on Legend per swing if I remember right.
Jack Ward
Yeah but he didn't get enough money until he waltzes in and says some doctor finally paid their 30 mil debt. Was Nishikiyama paying the 30 mil out slowly over time so the money he got was his own money or did the doctor get 30 mil elsewhere and bail?
As a long time Yakuza, Persona, and OneAngryGamer fan... I 100% agree. FUCK SJWs and FUCK Mortal Kombat.
Robert Sanchez
so criticisms are not welcome but /pol/shit is?
Leo Smith
Rubber bullets was the pinnacle of stupidity. Worst "twist" in the history of story. Literally undercut all of the character development that would have happened had he just actually did the crime.
Luis Williams
Fully levelling Kiryu before the last fight made me feel unstoppable. Seriously what the fuck. Literally went >is this it? Before all the cutscenes went on after.
Did anyone ever tell him his soulpatch looks like ass and he only gets away with it by looking like a chiseled 30 year old?
Julian Perez
It's a joke though, never do that. Keep the grinding for Premium Adventure.
Carson Nguyen
>love 0 and kiwami 1 >decide to finally buy kiwami 2 >every store near me is suddenly sold out >buy it on Amazon >package gets stolen while I'm slaving away for wage bucks
>Keep the grinding for Premium Adventure. Unless you're 1, 2, Kenzan, 5, Ishin, or Black Panther, then don't do that. 1, 2, and Kenzan all have missable substories, Heat Actions, and coin locker keys while 5, Ishin, and Black Panther don't let you make clear data from Premium Adventure effectively making the Premium Adventure a waste of time since your hard work can't be carried over to a Premium New Game. Black Panther takes it one step further and erases your clear data and overwrites it with Premium New Game/Premium Adventure once you decide so if you chose PA you're forever stuck in PA on that file.
Nicholas Garcia
Some assholes actually make their living by getting refunds for stolen shit they set up. Just file a complaint, amazon doesn't care aslong you don't act like a bitch ala >S-s-sure I didn't get the pack-kage
Levi Price
Sry Senpai I should get a trip with PC
Gavin Ortiz
Is the shit they're going to remove from the 3 remaster make it worth it to get a physical copy of 3 on ps3 or should I just wait for the remaster?
Wyatt Cox
Is tiger drop supposed to be a punch to the other guy's balls?
Joshua Nguyen
Only if you can't life without this joke. Oh, And the man pretends to be a lady.
They removed like three substories and one minigame (Which wasn't in the English version anyway). But in comparison to the OG 3 we got it would be adding around 20 substories we didn't have at all, several more minigames (Shogi and mahjong weren't even in OG 1, the cabaret club wasn't something you could do at all you instead picked up chicks at Smile Burger and banged them, and Hostess Maker's first iteration wasn't there either), and presumably we're getting a full retranslation because they basically have to translate all of the hostess text minus the dates, all of Hostess Maker, and a bunch of other stuff not to mention all references of Kage, Fuma, and Sunshine Orphanage to get it in line with the new name translations.
The only thing I want to know is how did Mack's True Shot change? What is it now since Michiru chasing Kiryu to kiss him was the True Shot?
Isaac Collins
I hink vital point's but who knows, Kiryu doesn't respect other peoples balls as seen pretty frightenly often actually.
Jacob Evans
>Tfw just fought Arase Who knew you could actually make guns fun in yakuza
Camden Davis
Oh, and we'd also probably be getting all the stuff they had as pre-order DLC in the base game instead which was stuff like fights versus bosses in the Colosseum, mahjong vs. Haruka, I think some Premium Adventure outfits, and a couple more things to do with two players.
I thought it was a gut punch. The only time I saw balls get hit were Tatsuya's various styles and Kiryu/Saejima using the long pole Heat Action to smack a guy super hard on the balls and lift him for a throw immediately after.
You really shouldnt skip Kiwami because its pretty much a conclusion to things that happened on 0
They get tougher as you level but not that hard the only Yakuza sequences I like are long instanced ones that lead to a boss, the rest is kind of boring filler
Julian Fisher
The funniest part is they're all models wearing pretty sexy outfits just sitting around the equivalent of a McD's waiting for Prince Charming to sweep them up off their feet. You basically walk into Smile Burger, they instantly hit on Kiryu, and then the substory starts as if you were wooing them in the hostess club for the past hour or two. It's even funnier when one girl asks you to marry her on the second date for her substory.
Carter Fisher
They're really stretching how Kiryu doesn't kill people in these Dragon Engine titles. Pretty sure during the truck fight Kiryu pushed some guy overboard while his head was ran over. Its hard to believe its all rubber bullets or Yakuza protagonists imagining the fight is going crazier than it already is.
David Scott
In 0 and Kiwami Kiryu lifts people by the pits and drops them balls first on his knee, I think thats a Beast mode move. In K2 in Sotenbori on the bridges were it intersects with the river you can throw people balls first on the bow(?) of boats passing by, same mechanics as throwing them into the river directly but more painfull animation.
Eli Cox
Can't believe I forgot those two, you're definitely right. I want to say there's another one where someone sits a guy down on one of those knee-high railings but I honestly don't know if my mind is making that up or what.
Christopher Rodriguez
you know i finished almost every single yakuza game and i never played majong a single time
Joshua Johnson
Seriously after driveaway shootings and heat actions that literally shoot people in the balls and dislodge their heads with the hilt I think that was the point where I just said fuck it. Apparently selfdefense is a broad term in Japan and these things aren't killing at all. No I can understand stopping yourself from putting down a beaten dog has slightly different morals attached to it but objectively saying he never killed someone is just bullshit.
Hunter Sanchez
What does 5 do better than the rest?
Nicholas Carter
Could be Kiwami mode shit in K2, some of the context sensitve heat actions get really brutal all of the sudden there. Wish I could tell you more but I won't be watching a compilation before I got platinum on that shit.
Ryan Diaz
Probably because it blows.
Connor Ortiz
Just trying to keep standards up, user
Josiah Davis
>Plethora of minigames a majority of which get introduced there or are improvements upon older ones (Like Chicken Racing being an improvement on Kenzan's Frog Racing) >Side Stories on top of those minigames which are basically the equivalent of what Cabaret Club or Real Estate are except each character gets one. >Every character has a trainer with quite a long story. >Every character has their own unique tournament story with a unique enemy (Like Raiden in picture related for instance). >Every character has their own unique gimmick (My Meteor Tackle on Shinada, Akiyama's aerial juggling, Saejima's grab attacks during combos, Kiryu's Devil Trigger) >Every character is unique, Shinada is a grappling weapon master, Akiyama is a speedy kicker, Saejima is broken, and Kiryu is broken. Those are off the top of my head.
Neat, more minigames and substories. Couldn't give a fuck about the combat though. Yes I've played 0 on legend and fought amon with no items. I don't enjoy it.
Hunter Phillips
>did this in kiwami because i liked Majima Everywhere >barely took any damage against Nishiki
If you like the side content more then yeah, it's got a bunch of stuff to enjoy, particularly Kiryu's side stories because the taxi stuff is somehow fun not to mention not-Initial D the side story. I would love if they fully fleshed out the taxi driving side story because I loved driving around in Nagasugai. It's also got a lot of karaoke songs and variants.
for a moment I thought the player would have to use their skill to squeeze between the trucks but no it's a QTE and a whacky cutscene where you do nothing bet it felt great to hit triangle though
Sebastian Gonzalez
>The fucking Komaki training with the 4 dudes in Kiwami on hard Send help
>5, Ishin, and Black Panther don't let you make clear data from Premium Adventure effectively making the Premium Adventure a waste of time since your hard work can't be carried over to a Premium New Game.
Well hopefully the 5 remaster fixes that.
Jason Howard
just started playing through og Yakuza on the PS2. Pretty fun so far, even if a little dated. Is it just me, or is the pacing actually a lot better in the original compared to Kiwami? like it gets to the point a lot quicker. For example, that long ass flashback sequence where Kiryu buys the ring for Yumi that's just one big back and forth between running to Shinji and the pawnshop over and over is just completely gone.
also, unrelated, but the game looked kinda fucked up the with the shadows being pitch black on the character models when I first started emulating (pic related). I fixed it but I thought it kinda looked cool. Makes me want to play a Yakuza game with a Cel Shaded artstyle
More a case of Kiryu actually liking that girl stupid as he is and Nishiki coatsailing as usual thinking he has to get the same girl to be as cool as his bro. Both are idiots but Nishiki is also a fucking tool.
Caleb Richardson
The one cut sub story is more to bring Kiryu's character in line with other games. Kiwami had him fight cross dressers and say he doesn't give a shit how they self identify, it's how they act to him that warrents if they deserve a beating.
Michael Carter
If you're stuck on the Komeki training, grind more Majima and remember the fight against Hannah-man is a supposed to lose fight.
Jeremiah Lee
The new cutscenes were meant to flesh characters out and Nishiki desperately needed something because he's in like three or four scenes maximum in the original game to the point you don't care about him at all (Or, I didn't at least). It's only faster because it's not showing you Nishiki's descent into madness, otherwise the story is the same barring the ring fetch quest.
newfags are cancer to any long-running series. What really gets me is the faggots who say "start with 6", at least the 0 and kiwami 1 kids pretend to have tact.
Michael Perez
I was about to agree with you but I remember walking into the shop as the copper in 4, playing a few then never playing it again
Samuel Evans
Oh yeah, forgot all of the Nishiki flashbacks were new additions to Kiwami. also, the lack of Majima Everywhere's also kinda a breath of fresh air desu.
Ayden Jackson
Daily reminder that the Yakuza protagonists are canonically fags
You seem to be fag too, don't fight it because my fiction is nothing you get to have a say in.
Nicholas Murphy
I thought 2 had an even better plot than 0, atleast if we only look at Kiryus side.
Brody Cruz
I've had some people say 2 is when they hired real writers and others say 1-3 was all the same guy.
Kevin Price
I'm so glad secondary fujos who only played 0 for ~cute bishies~ are being validated now.
Joseph Hernandez
kinda liked the schlok plot between Kiryu and Seijima and Ryujii was a great final boss from the first moment he made a scene in the Grande. But yeah fuck that back from the grave completely unessary filler OH WE HAVE TWIST!!!! bullshit.
David Nguyen
Yeah, losing Majima Everywhere is a really relieving feeling because you don't have to worry about wandering around. Plus the voice acting being hilarious just adds to the fun. I will never get tired of English Yuya and Shimano.
Thinking of getting Yakuza 0, is it a good game to start on?
Eli Brown
>>Just finished 0, is it fine to skip right to 6? NO NO FUCK NO ideal playthrough is release order, if that doesn't work, then, assuming you've started with 0 0 > 1(or kiwami) > 2(or kiwami 2 but i recommend 2 vanilla strongly) > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6
Tyler Collins
Yes, it's designed as a starting point.
Juan Nelson
see release order is very ideal for these games but 0 into chronological order works too
Nathaniel Stewart
faggot gatekeeper! K2 is great, people can live without one extra street and it hypes them for what is to come.
Ayden Bailey
>Millennium Building gets bombed in K1 >Managed to repair it in a years time >It gets bombed again in K2
This building is straight up cursed isn't it?
Benjamin Adams
Cant say anything past these two games, but it would be nice to have a fucking mall in them, like implyed for a change. Empty Ass building I worked my ass off in 0 for.
Isaac Morales
I didn't say Kiwami2 is bad by any means, I just feel that yakuza 2 as it is, is a must play and certain segments and scenes in it deliver better than the kiwami version and I would want a new player to experience those bits that way first
Ryder Lopez
I can't believe Kiryu let an innocent old man die.
Ideally start from release order since it lets you see how the games advance over the years and 1 and 2 are a different experience both content-wise and gameplay-wise from K1 and K2, but if you don't want to commit that much then 0 is perfectly fine provided you go into K1 and then K2 after that because both those games expect you to be coming from 0 and K2 in particular finishes a story started in 0. Either way is fine, but remember that 1 and 2 have different stuff to do compared to K1 and K2 so it's worth giving them a try when you feel like it if you end up liking the series.
Where is Y3 on PC sega. I gave you money so far with those pc releases.
John Allen
The mall bits of Millennium Tower are on the upper floors which need to be reached by elevator but we never get to visit them. 6 lets you wander around on the lower roof area along with the ground level and K2 lets you wander around on the ground level. Judgment has the drone racing on the ground level as well but I believe it was like K2 where they didn't let you go to the top floor like in 6. Dead Souls has you running around a majority of Millennium Tower though, there's multiple floors you go up fighting zombies, Zombie Hayashi and the final boss is on the floors right below the helipad. Black Panther 1 has a cutscene take place inside a room somewhere in it that is like this big bar area (Not Ares), and Black Panther 2 has you fighting KHS officers on your way to the final boss ascending the stairs.
The bigger annoyance is Kamuro Hills not being open up after all these years. Dead Souls and 5 let you explore it the most but I would really like that area to be fleshed out and explorable since they redid all of Park Boulevard and put up new signs directing you to it.
Pretty much any minigame should give you a couple and then fighting on the streets should get you some rather quickly. I believe baseball, darts, and UFO Catcher should help you the quickest.
