Should I play Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast?

Should I play Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast?
I only care about swinging a lightsaber, im not looking for story or anything like that

Both. Academy starts out with the saber way sooner but they’re both 10/10 games

jedi academy with the movie battles I/II mods
play the jedi temple and get to kill younglings

Outcast has fun multiplayer with bots I’d go for that if you’re looking for some stabbin.

Jedi Outcast is for 40% Quake 3 Singleplayer without swords, but it's overall better than Academy.

Outcast for the better Star Wars story, Jedi Academy for the better, updated Outcast gameplay.
Both are good games, so you're not gonna go wrong either way.

Both, of course.

Outcast lightsaber gameplay was far more satisfying imo

From an objective standpoint, Academy has the better saber mechanics. At the same time, The level design and duels in Outcast shine a lot more. First encounter with a Reborn was badass, but you fight saber-wielders in the first level of Academy, so it's not as meaningful. If multiplayer, Academy.

Both and if you get Jedi Academy, grab Movie Duels Remastered Edition, very good singleplayer mod. For multiplayer, grab Movie Battles 2. FYI, if you look up Movie Duels Remastered, and see a search result for Movie Duels 2, keep looking for the Remastered version, it's an improved version of Movie Duels 2

Outcast has the better campaign.

Academy's feels pretty half assed. Game was made in like 8 months and it shows.

Academy has an improved lightsaber combat system.

But i really recommend starting with Outcast.

Outcast.

If you wanna slash shit

Shift + ~
helpusobi 1
give all (weapons and lightsaber
setforceall 4 (force powers)
g_saberrealisticcombat 3 (for satisfying cutting enemies into pieces, but be warned you will die in a hit or two from lightsaber too)

Go nuts. Outcast and Academy have the comfiest cheats in any game i've ever played.

They're pretty damn comfy. Very easy to use and remember, even if you don't touch the game for years. Also fun for experimenting.

Outcast has a godtier single player campaign while Jedi Academy has a god tier multiplayer campaign

I think Painkiller had some nice cheats

How was the saber combat actually changed in Academy? Have never really played Outcast beyond the campaign.

>cheats
Ah, the good old times where an admin of the (mostly anandoned) server I played on showed up and decided to spawn a mutated rancor for the heck of it.
I also remember a thread on Yea Forums from over a decade ago where an user spawned NPCs in Academy to fight, posting results. Sometimes with videos.
Just getting Desann's/Ragnos's saber and slashing through Jedi was also fun.

Just play the whole Kyle Katarn selection

MOTS can he skipped though

Wall-running, "combo" techniques for each style and type of lightsaber (Katas), air motion moves, dual lightsabers as well as double-sided lightsabers, each with unique movesets, strengths and weaknesses

Just in general a lot of depth Outcast couldn't quite pull off. It's still today agreed to be the best lightsaber combat in any star wars game.

Neither, they're both way too old to properly enjoy now.

play the entire dark forces saga

As opposed to what? Modern battlefronts? They have nothing to show for their gameplay, other than graphics and sound design. Latter of which is still really well adapted into the old Jedi Knights

>I'm no jedi. I'm just a guy with a lightsaber and a few questions.

jedi academy

Moviebattles 2. /endthread
