MN9 was looking pretty awful way before launch, there was a whole leadup to it, you are forgetting a lot if you think it took until that game's launch for people to realise it was a disaster. Yooka Laylee had people identifying and predicting its core problems based on pre-launch footage and the demo they put out, namely big empty worlds and being ugly as fuck amongst other things. Meanwhile with Bloodstained we have people using the demo as a reference point for the gameplay, and the main issue which was the graphics have been relatively fixed. I'm expecting the game to be merely okay at worst, and not a big shitshow. It's following the Castlevania template pretty closely.
