Most people like this game; it's just that there's always a vocal minority who shits on every Zelda game no matter what
>Skyward Sword is too linear
>they bitch
>BOTW is one of the least-linear games ever made
>they bitch
Downgrade and lies from the developer.
>posts the only good area in the game
>that 3D map
Whoa holy shit, is this real and functional?
It's probably more a question of "Do you have a Nintendo or not?"
I don't have a Nintendo, so sure, BotW is overrated shit.
10/10 intro
0/10 final act
Because it's not a ps4 exclusive
I play open world games for either roleplaying or comfy immersion. BotW is probably the worst ever open world for those things. Almost all of the interactivity basically just relates to fighting bokoblins but very little anywhere else
> a Nintendo
Yea Forums are hipsters
>regular game
>shilled to death by normalfags because it's zelda
>hated to death because it's shilled
was it hard to understand?
I was 50 hours into it and done with just 2 beasts and then decided to sell it and my Wii U because I realized I was 25 and it's a kid's game. As a kid I would have loved it though and I think Yea Forums is too harsh on it due to not acknowledging this.
I hope you don't think the witcher 3 or bloodborne are good then
Inside the 4 "dungeons' of the game and inside Hyrule Castle you have a three-dimensional map
nope,where's my prize?
It's not your typical AAA walk to X to watch cutscenes game that Yea Forums loves so much. It's a game that puts all the power into the player's hands and we live in an era where people cannot handle playing the game their own way. They need others to tell them what to do or the game to basically force them to play a certain way. In essence, BotW is an existentialist game and it's only natural that in a world populated by mindless drones that people would reject such a philosophy because they truly do not know how to be authentic.
Intelligence and free will to them is unfathomable.
rofl
Yes it's real, and it's a real pain in the ass.
because link is LGBTQ+
I loved this game so much the first playthough, but when attempting a second time it just wasn´t the same thing. Then master mode came out and I hated it. Having to cheese most early fights as enemies have more health than I can take with a full inventory of the avaliable weapons in the early game, enviromental damage does nothing to then and they just regen everything anyway. Then mid game comes up and you have good gear and by that point the game isn´t any different than regular mode. I want to enjoy it again as I did my first time but I don´t think I can
It's popular. Once any game/series reaches a point where the general public likes it, Yea Forums hates it. Just look at Dragon Quest. For decades, it had the best threads on Yea Forums. Then DQIX and XI got popular. Now every thread is about parroting contrarian memes.
Fuck off Arin
Just because you are so autistic about "being told what to do" due to childhood trauma, doesn't mean Cutscenes are bad
>>Skyward Sword is too linear
>>BOTW is one of the least-linear games ever made
You can go too far in either direction.
Contrarianism
>Hyrule castle
That theme is fucking kino
youtube.com
And it changes into a even better version once you actually enter the castle.

Post paypal bro
Married 31yo with 220 clocked in the game here, you are just an insecure faggot.
It's pretty garbage though, there's like 5 different enemy types total, it has no boss fights or dungeons whatsoever and this forced realism with having to cook your own food and your weapons breaking after two attacks is downright cringeworthy. This game is clearly designed for onions-consuming manchildren who can't muster the mental strength for anything more difficult than a childrens game with puzzles designed by toddlers when it was bring your own kid to work day.
The fact that this game got some sort of global recognition and is being hailed as the 2nd coming of the gaming christ is truly a sign of the degenerate times that we're living in, this game literally spits on everything that made modern zelda games good, never have I seen a more misguided attempt at going "back to the roots". The mastermind behind this game truly is an evil man, he singlehandedly destroyed a franchise built up slowly over 20 years
Too bad we'll never see a proper Zelda game again
I kinda like it but it was really lacking in narrative.
There wasn't any compelling reason to explore every zone or every tower or get every shrine after a certain point.
Get the 4 beasts, get enough hearts for the Master Sword, and that's pretty much the end of the story until you beat Ganon. I only wish there was more.
Yea Forums doesn't hate it.
Yea Forums hates the one same fagging shill who keeps making these threads trying to bait Yea Forums into talking about this game. Game is available on PC and has been for years now, we've all played it. It's decent and that's that.
my bud is 35 and had to wait till end game to beat one them minitors cause he couldnt time his shit, it might be a kids game but its also fo fucking casuals
>I kinda like it but it was really lacking in narrative.
that's one of the best things about it.
>it has no boss fights or dungeons
It has 5 boss fights and 5 dungeons
>the Play As Zelda mod is still unfinished and probably abandoned
Shame.
No it doesn't, shut the fuck up
user, I like BOTW, but the divine beasts are each like 1/4 of the typical LOZ dungeon.
Even Hyrule Castle has literally no puzzles at all that you can't bypass just by climbing up a wall.
I don't hate it, I just don't think it deserves to be fellated. It has some relatively serious issues with it's core structure. I don't think it's a bad game, or even a bad Zelda game, it's just not "kino". It's like a 7 out of 10.
typical 3D Zelda dungeons suck ass dude
I played it for like 20 minutes at the store and I've already forgotten wtf happened. Was pretty though. Would look amazing on a real computer
it's the most loved 3d zelda game on this board
>3D zelda dungeons suck
Block puzzles too hard for you bud?
>poll from when it released
It's Twilight Princess by a mile
no they're just shit and braindead in 3D zeldas
It has 5 small dungeons + 120 puzzles
>Only a couple of votes
>Think it is representative for whole Yea Forums
>calling combat shrines "puzzles"
There's like maybe 30 actually worthwhile shrines, like 50 are combat ones and the rest is just filler
youtube.com
It's fun for a decent while.
Both can be bad for different reasons
Yeah, at least Skyward Sword had FUCKING DUNGEONS
>5 classic songs stapled into one theme
>ends up being the best song in the game and highlighting how lackluster the original music is
bravo Kataoka
There's an obvious lack of information which is almost like a holdover from the mid 00's "cinematic" era where they did away with stuff like showing levels and stuff for "muh immersion". However i really feel time and time again for this game, that there's both a lack of direction on where to go for the character and going in the wrong direction will get your ass handed to you so it ends up with atleast me getting bored and uncertain on where to go and just drop the game. I really despise the lack of information in gaming nowadays, Dark Souls really brought in something shitty into gaming, where developers think they are "clever" by not showing or telling the player everything they need to know, or especially the story.
The influences Dark Souls has inflicted on the industry as a whole has made me retroactively hate Dark Souls.
I'd also say that part of the problem is how Nintendo has insisted that Zelda and Mario in the past 10 years move to a "full orchestra" which causes everything to sound the same.
Even just a unique instrument would help certain areas stick out more.
It's fine.
Feels like it starts to decline as soon as you leave the great plateau though and never stops.
I want a quick sequel that builds on the foundation BoTW had.
>Feels like it starts to decline as soon as you leave the great plateau though and never stops.
It's because the paraglider makes traversal a joke.
Yea Forums hates good games
>see some weird statues in the desert
>just leads to a shrine
>jungle area with old ruins
>just shrines in the area
>isolated camp on a snowy mountain
>just has a journal about a shrine
>dragons flying around
>need their scales to get into a shrine
Fucking everything in this world is tied to the Sheikah magic-tech shrines. It makes the world feel so boring and lifeless. It makes it feel like the world has no real worldbuilding at all except for the sheikah shrines. why the hell are they connected to everything? can't the desert shit be its own thing? cant the jungle ruins be connected to another culture? its so fucking boring
No body hate it. It is just overated
I got 5 amiibo coins for 12 bucks, and I'm gonna use them for my hard mode playthrough. I haven't touched the game in about a year, but i recently got the DLC and had fun. I got TP Link and a few others. Package should arrive tonight or tomorrow morning.
The only good songs in BotW are the ones which remix songs from past games and the occasional cutscene song. Because they're the only ones with an actual theme. The rest of the OST is just four notes played on a piano or flute on repeat. And it gets VERY old.
I love BotW and could spend all day exploring the overworld, except the music gets so repetitive that I eventually have to take a break and do something else. The next game needs to return to the classic style of music, as well as replacing Shrines with full dungeons (or a huge interconnected underworld).
Quads of truth.
Death to console war faggots
>only fags hold back their tears bro try crying like a real man next time
I didn't even play SS because I hate that motion control gimmick. BotW was just disappointing, especially after waiting years to play a new Zelda game that wasn't tied to a gimmick. Too bad this one was tied to the modern day open world gimmick that's super popular right now. I'm convinced Nintendo can't make anything without a gimmick now. But idiots think that keeps them "fresh", so I guess it works for them.
This one's always bullshit because the bottom right exists. It's where you get the Wild outfit.
It contains some kino but the whole thing is a jumbled mess since everything is optional except for one fight with "an evil force", calling it a villain would be vastly overstating it.
Skyward Sword had a lot of problems and made its own linearity worse through bad decisions, most notably a lack of content. BotW has a lot of old problems and tries to get around a lack of significant content with the openworld meme (since a heightmap and random Puzzle rooms don't need as much effort) but introduces a fuckload of new ones.
No. 2D maps were better.
CEMU exists.
It's almost like there's a significant amount that can be gained from a more structured experience in terms of enjoyment.
While only 20 are combat shrines I would still say there's only a dozen good shrines.
It would require effort to have a driving force behind the plot that isn't "antagonistic force" and "Japanese game designers".
>kino
Why do you fucking retards parrot words without giving any consideration or thought to their meaning?
