It'll be decent, like the original.
I don't know the intricaties of its gameplay mechanic so I can't really speak in regards to what should be altered and what shouldn't. All I can say is that it's more desirable now than it was when it released, since we really don't get 3D Platformers that much anymore.

It'll be a better polished experience than the original that might be a bit SOULless in some areas while SOULful in others.
The new multiplayer mode is going to be pretty good but nothing you'd invest a ton of time in.
I'm hoping that we get a remixed soundtrack (with an option for the old soundtrack) and that the Robo Squidward boss is great. I do also hope that we get some new original content as well.
What I'm hoping for most is a modding scene

They could probably get away with tightening some of the controls some. BfBB is a good game, but there's lots of room for some polish and improvement. Many of the hitboxes are a little wonky too. I still think it will turn out fine though.

BfBB is a broken as fuck game and people like SHiFT value it most because of how jank it is. I think Rehydrated will have jank, but nothing in comparison to the original.

Also they had no part in Metro being an Epic exclusive. For the most part they just let the people they own do what they want. Deep Silver taking Epic's money for exclusivity rights was purely on Deep Silver.
