Game of the Year

Game of the Year.

For people who enjoy video games, absolutely. The peanut gallery will name Last of Us 2 or some other game. Same reason why Bloodborne lost to Ori and the Blind Forest.

fpbp

Definitely. Aside from KCD, this was my favourite game of the last generation.

Agreed, it's fantastic

This is probably right

Pretty good for the 20 or so hours it lasted, discluding ceramic shard scavenger hunt.

>already forgotten
>game of the year
lol

is this why bloodborne lost to witcher 3?

Already forgotten

So far this or REmake 2.

You are a faggot for so many reasons. Read your post, think about the point you made.

I think I like it more than Bloodborne.

Really nice to see a game with actually well-represented spiritual themes, much like how Yoko Taro games do sexual themes properly.

The lack of replayability knocked it down to a 7/10 for me.
It's ironic that TecmoKoei made a better Shinobi Souls than Fromsoft.

Yes

>Yea Forums posters don't discuss game much anymore so it can't be good
>dark souls 2 is the best souls game of all time since it generates the most discussion

Game of the year for me as well

>Sekiro 2hr
>DMCV 3hr
>potato lagging slavjank 30hr and counting
*sips*
I guess I'm too old for your button mash simulators.

If you want it, you'll have to take it

I feel like it’ll be a tie between this and Doom Eternal for me.

By the way, why has everyone forgotten doom?

Dark Souls 2 is so divisive. I’ve never played it since I’ve only played DS3, Sekiro, and now Demons Souls, but is there any comprehensive look into all facets of DS2? No biases? No controversy and fighting? Just the good, the bad, and the subjective left out?

Outer World's and 2077 might come out this year.

Fromfags will seethe as based Obesdian wins 2019 and 2077 wins 2020

Yes, there is.

This times 1000

>game of the year
>its June

The year is not even half way over.

agree with this, still weighing up whether i like this or dmc5 more. I've put more hours into DMC5 but sekiro does a lot of things better then dmc5

Game of the year, zoomers' tears edition

You're delusional if you think that sort of person will even remember Sekiro by the end of the year.

I liked Sekiro and still forgot about it completely when thinking about 2019 goty contenders.

yikes... YIKES

I can't really comment without bias, but for me personally, the environments do not look good - not even comparing here to other games or pre-release footage - they all have this incredibly flat pre-baked lighting. Not speaking in a graphics-whore sense, but because it detracts from the atmosphere a whole lot. The enemy variety is generally weak, with a whole lot of armored humanoid enemies (bosses included). I picked a starting class with a mace and used it all through the game since it was so effective. I think you'll see those complaints a lot. It was great for fashion souls, since the actual attributes of the gear your character wore counted for very little.
All that said, I still put more than 100 hours into it for some reason, and I dropped DS3 after around 25 because I didn't enjoy the more linear world design

>For people who like video games

Honestly it's no contest DMC5 is 1000x better

Genuinely curious, what do you think sekiro does better?

At first it was a tie between Sekiro and DMC5 for me but ultimately I had to go with DMC5 as my GOTY.
Sekiro is a really close second and that means a lot coming from a DMCfag who waited for a sequel for ten years. Sekiro gripped me harder than DMC5 at first because it's better structured and more challenging. If asked then and there I would've probably said Sekiro was my GOTY. However just as I predicted after beating Sekiro four times without breaks for other games I feel as if I completely exhausted the game. Meanwhile DMC5 only got deeper and more complex as I played and therefore more fun.

Of course I'll be spending more time with Sekiro when they inevitably release a DLC but DMC5 will be the game that I'll be playing for a literal decade to come.

Bronze medal goes to Ace Combat 7.

cringe

Ori is a good game.
Not absolutely amazing, it does have issues, but it's far from a walking simulator.

DMC and Sekiro are for button simulator brainlets. The equivalent of John Wick for vidya. If you want to see videogames as a legitimate art form, then the GOTY is obviously Pathologic 2, the vidya equivalent of a Bela Tarr kinoplex.

is it some sort of meme to compare games to john wick now or is there just one obsessed faggot constantly making the same comparison?

I really liked Sekiro but my game of the year would be DMC5.

This. Bloodborne is the game of the generation, yet it lost to TW3 which has the worst gameplay I've ever experienced.

>2011 gameplay with 2015 graphics the game

I'll go as far as to say Sekiro is one of the best games of this generation
I can't find any flaws to it, besides the dumb enemy that allow you to restealth so easily

>John Wick
OBSESSED

being a huge fan of a niche genre, it's really a hard pick between Sekino and Based May Cry 5

I think DMC5 has it beat easily.

I think they both have different strengths and weaknesses. Trying to rate "bests" is honestly pretty stupid, they're both great games. It's all just an excuse for shitflinging.

Wasn't that easy in my case desu.

nah its that one obsessed autist

Based
TLoU2 isn't coming out this year and BB didn't lose to Ori, it lost to The Witcher 3

>losing to normie open world rpg
did you really expect BB to win?

>no question dmc is 100000000x gayer

Ftfy

It's great, but I wish there was more of it.
I hope it gets lots of DLC, big ones too.
