I've never played a Resident Evil game. Is 4 a fine place to start with?

yes

No
Play Resident Evil 1 on GameCube, 2 on PS1, then 4
If you really enjoyed the classic games play 3 and Code Veronica
If you really like 4 play 5 but with a friend online not alone it’s kinda shitty alone but pretty fun with a friend
Don’t bother with 6

This

No, it's very different from the others.

HEY! ACA

Why not the remake of 1?

Different guy here, I got 6 free as a gift on Steam. I hear it's not so great, but it has a Mercenary Mode, and I always love that. Is there some file I can edit to unlock Mercenary mode right off the bat? I know Capcom makes their RE Steam games real hard to file edit.

REmake 1 or the original RE2 are the best starting points, in my opinion.

Yeah, RE4 was the first one that was actually good.

Uhh I did mention the remake of 1
That’s the GameCube one I enjoyed 6 because I got it for $5 and I didn’t really expect a masterpiece
The problem is Yea Forums is full of retarded who think any game below a 9/10 is fucking shit
Is it good? No, is it bad? No, did I have fun? Yeah, would I replay it? Probably not but try and explain that to the mouth breathers on here

RE4 is the best RE game because ironically enough it's the least RE game out there.

>Is it good? No
you could have stopped there you know

Why not remake of 2?

yes, but not on switch

because it's too different from the original

>is it good? No
>is it bad? No
Take your meds

Sorry, I meant the HD remaster on PC

4 or Remake

Yes, I hated the first game but this one is based

Is there a more retarded thread than
>I can't just pick up a game and try it, please spoonfeed me Yea Forums
?
Nigga just start anywhere, the fuck do you think is gonna happen

Resident Evil 1 (and Remake) is the best classic Resident Evil.

Resident Evil 4 is the best (and only) modern Resident Evil.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is okay. Better than Re 5, 6 and Revelations.

>starting with the 4th game in a series
You really are quite the idiot, aren't you?

this desu it'll ruin all the other games for you

RE4's good, I'd try it and REmake so you can see which kind of RE you like.

That'd be 5 if we're talking mainline games.

Why does Ashley have monkey ears?

how does that still look so good all these years later?

Play both REmakes in order, then play 4, then play whatever else you feel like.

I played it first and now it’s one of my favorite games of all time and one of my favorite series

No. Play them in order

But what about 7?

Mercenary mode is actually unlocked from the start in 6. You need to complete the campaign to unlock some characters.

Because you're supposed to put on your nostalgia goggles and pretend that literally everything about the remake isn't better.

Makes one wonder why RE6 has the campaings at all, since anyone who likes Resident Evil dislikes RE6 gameplay, and anyone who likes RE6 gameplay only cares about mercenaries.

Why no RE 2 Remake?

It's a good place to get interested in the series, sure. REmake 1 is also a good place and it's the start of the story.

>different
You mean better?

Remake then remake2.
Re4 after. If you like Re4 then play re5 with a friend and if you really like that then play re6 with a friend.

Little rough, don’t you think?

>play re6
Doesn't RE6 have the option to watch the cutscenes in the menu? You don't actually need to expose yourself to the putrid gameplay. And the cutscenes are realtime so you can even install some slutty mods.

I will never understand how re5 could shit the bed so hard with respect to game play. Something as simple as item storage was even fucked up
>egg the same size as a rocket launcher
