Damn, wtf? This seems just downright disrespectful to those fans who simply wanted a modestly budgeted, linear action/adventure sequel like 10 years ago and still to this day.
What were they thinking?

What were they thinking?
It's not going to look anything like the 'tech-demo' they shown us.
apparently the fans who were supposed to contribute assets got ripped off and Joseph Gordon hothead won't comment on it
>What were they thinking?
Is that a serious question?
It's Ubisoft ffs, they turn literally everything into a filler treadmill chock full of microtransactions.
As one of the biggest fans on earth of the original, I have no fucking interest in this sequel it looks like it will barely have anything to do with the Original (one of ubisoft's finest games) but if it doesn't suck and flop I'll buy it
>mfw this is gonna be assassins creed black flag 2
What happened ?
The first game was boring, clunly and overrated as hell.
Its fans deserve nothing
Never played huh?
>What were they thinking?
They wanted to make it like Ancel always wanted it to be, because BG&E 1 was plagued by a lot of technical limitations from the consoles of its gen. Unfortunnately BGE2 came out in an era where the big open-world market is oversaturated and most of them range from terrible to panifully generic.
I really digging the whole "space pirate" theme tho. I've been waiting for a game like that for years.
You know, I completely forgot that HitRecord was involved in this whole thing.
I tried, three times in fact. The three times I stopped playing at the same spot because I had enough.
>"I didn't like the game so nobody should enjoy a sequel"
Wut spot
After returning from the factory where you learn the pig was kidnapped. That mission was so tedious I never had the strenght to keep with the game.
All I remember from the first game is that you take photos with your camera and solve puzzles, with combat shoe-horned in. Is that the appeal of these games? Would you want the sequel to be the same? I honestly don't understand why people like Beyond Good and Evil. No one in the thread has specified what makes the game unique and different from the sequel's trailer...
Basically, they begged fans to literally create the assets for the game for them, for free, for a small chance to "win" a cash reward. People were understandably insulted by a massive corporation essentially asking for handouts. I'm not sure what the current situation is and whether they backpedaled at all, or if anyone ever donated assets, but at any rate I don't have much in the way of expectations for this game. It's more than likely going to be a dumpster fire with no cohesive direction.
I think they just asked for graffiti and the like for wall decorations, no? Not a big thing
The game is cool cause it's got some stealth elements, puzzles, mystery, ship upgrades, fun combat, ally assist combos, unique enemies, the main villain sounds cool, the world is an interesting place to explore and interact with. The game gets really cool once you get a space ship and the final boss is quite challenging
Maybe it was overblown. This was back when I still went on r/games before I got banned for saying trannies were mentally ill, but I remember everyone losing their shit and acting like Ubisoft was the literal antichrist for doing this.
>ubisoft
What did you expect?
They want their own Destiny
Never played first one, how is it? What gameplay is like?
it just doesn't look anything like the first game, if it didn't share the same name i would've figured this was a new ip.
The original was a zelda clone, where the dungeons are disguised as espionage missions.
It had a unique artstyle, likeable characters, and a story that unfortunately ended with a cliffhanger that they probably won't conclude, given that this is a prequel and will focus on new characters.
I still want this game to turn out good, but I doubt it given the quality of most modern ubisoft games
Its like a Ocarina of Time clone, a clunky first attempt at a 3D open world adventure but without Nintendo's charisma
Not just that but also 3D art(buildings, statues, characters) and music/sound effects.Otherwise Ubisoft won't be able to populate the game that spans a literal star system.
You have shit taste and you should consider suicide.
>No Jade onee-san to protect you and have fart contests with after Peyge's chili night
>This was back when I still went on r/games
crrrrrrrrRRRINGE buddy ol' pal
>before I got banned for saying trannies were mentally ill
wtf based n REDPILLED ??????????
The fuck did I do to you, buddy? Wasn't it enough I don't get a new Prince of Persia?
As a big fan of the first one, of course I'm bummed that it doesn't look like it will be anything similar, but as a standalone game it looks like it could be fun. Of course this is still ubisoft so take that with a truck of salt
Its a well put-together game, you fuck. Who gives a shit if you don't understand? Its a cult classic for some people and it ends on a cliffhanger. Is it so hard for you to connect the dots that people liked the characters and wanted more of the world?
PROPAGANDA
who cares it’s never coming out anyway
They just wanted to appeal of the Brazilian market.
Jade is in the game
Yeah but I don't like edgy katana Jade
Be grateful it even has a fucking sequel.
beyond good and evil 1 was basically a charming small 3d zelda like game
2 is open world edgefest where you go from icon to icon on the minimap to free towers etc
it's actually disgusting
expecting the same to happen to splinter cell
Jade's mom is not Jade.
that was a really good game though...
it's probably going to be ok
