How would you make a game about classic grey aliens work?
How would you make a game about classic grey aliens work?
A horror game. Greys are the ultimate uncanny valley and their features exist to freak you out.

>tfw the area 51 game is actual the Dulce base game
Portal/ talos principle-like puzzle game where you try to escape from a trippy minimalistic 60's themed ayy ship.
You only get small glimpses of the actual ayys from behind half closed doors or ventilation grilles and such.
Not a single word is in english save for 60's tv transmissions playing on various screens and written notes either stolen from earth by ayys or written by other escaped humans
Nobody is afraid of monsters anymore.
Brave humans fighting off the buttprobing menace. By probing right back.
kino
has no one played this?
some L.A noire/Mafia tier setting with ayys and weird shit happening, like not just sci-fi shit but being lovecraftian in nature
>David Duchovny and Marilyn Manson played the lead characters in this game
this and its sequel were both kino
X-files mystery/detective/puzzle game
Bonus point if Ayys are friendly
>implying it's possible at this day and age
AYYYYY LMAO

What about a game where you are a caveman who gets abducted , and as the ayes experiment on you and increase your intelligence you get the ability to use more weapons and eventually you can get super smart and hack shit and use telepathy to take over their ship
Grays are too overused to be actually spooky.
To be honest, i can't think of anything that could be spooky today, nothing that hasnt been done and parodied to hell and back.
like this
too bad that the game seems to be cancelled

like that south park FPS game's alien episode.
Someone needs to edit loud nigra over the scream on the end
Deus Ex style conspiracy thriller stealth FPS/RPG, but the ayys are behind it all. Could be set many decades ago also.
A horror game set in a forest with a visible ufo
Objective would be to investigate the ufo from the inside undetected and leave undetected
If you are spotted
The aliens come sprinting at you full force and if caught the screen cuts to black and you will be strapped to a table waiting to be experimented on.
I am Todd Howard
Get a better game engine, Todd
I still love you, Todd.
i have just the thing for you

just copy fire in the sky
Never even thought about that until now. What'd they mean by that?
No no no. This is why your games are terrible Todd. You can never see the inside. If you HAVE to then its naked and strapped to a table with tunnel vision.
The ufo must never land. What is the point of having a hovering craft if you have to LAND it?
Greys are either small and lanky and wouldn't rush a human like a retarded skyrim npc. Give them extrasensory to stun humans instead or dont have them fight directly at all.
They should be slow and menacing. A xenomorph type game would be up your alley though.
The unknown is what makes greys scary. Having the freedom to fuck around in their ship and having them bumrush you sounds like a funny unity game.
I got rid of my fear of aliens after ayy lmao
what about an alien abduction game where you have like, a ranch or some kind of homestead, and a forest next to it or cornfields on the other side or something. you start experiencing alien abduction phenomena at night in which your body is helpless and you enter this kind of pseudo game-within-a-game world that is the alien ship with all its technology and such, where the aliens give you implants and take samples and experiment on you. an investigative game where if you sleep in-game you get abducted and get implants that impair you in some ways, boost you in others, giving you the choice of which implants you want, but ultimately work to brainwash you and keep you from learning the truth, but if you don't sleep you avoid this and can investigate local ufo phenomena, mutilated cattle, crop circles and the like which will be more prominent if you choose to avoid sleeping, but blah blah blah turns out the entire thing is a simulation by the aliens to indoctrinate you no matter what you do to assassinate the reptilian leader in the city who has enslaved them so that they can enslave your will, but you end up using the implants to kill the pope, or something.. and the implants are a lie..
Dark Skies: The Walking Simulator: The VR Experience
everything cool until the blah blah blah
You befriend one who turns out to be a giant Ameriboo who dresses in the American flag and calls himself Elvis.
I got that reference
I remember playing that
it was really fun
A sandbox style game set in a remote town. Have a slow, mysterious build-up, people going missing and spooky electrical occurrences etc. Once you realize what is going on your ultimate goal becomes escaping the town while being hunted by ayys or surviving undetected long enough for them to fuck off.
I once had an idea about grey aliens, but then it kinda grew into a bigger setting.
Basically the game would play like original Deus Ex, with skill allocations, inventory management, and some clunky combat as well, while the game itself is more focused on exploration, dialogues and note reading in terminals.
The theme however, would be only focused on ayys, but more on traditional conspiracies and urban legends in general. And the game itself would be set in Us around 70s/80/early 90s, where at the start the protag would notice that some strange shit is going on in his town, then he would contact some /x/-tier local lunatics and gather info, then they would proceed investigating how deep this whole rabbit hole goes. So combine greys with crop circles, illuminati, Year 2000 problem, some urban folklore creatures, like bigfoot, disappearing people, chems in groundwaters, some mysticism and all that shit.
basically X-Files, but done right.
wow
That zero g effect is still pretty convincing. I remember this scene fueling my nightmares for weeks when I was a wee lad.
I imagine an open-world investigative title that's a mix between the Consuming Shadow and Kentucky Route Zero
>you're a highway cop
>slow burn gameplay, pulling over some fellers from out of state for broken tail lights, breaking up younguns sneaking onto some dickhead's property, etc etc
>however as the game continues strange phenomena starts happening in the vein of the beginning of Prey
>strange lights, bizarre noises, phantom cars that vanish
>all of a sudden you're inundated with calls from HQ, all sorts of weird shit
>you have a few different plot points to track down, running into random encounters along the way
>some big invasion or raid
>depending on your destination choices, the exact nature of the invaders changes, from 1950s-esque body snatchers to Thing assimilators to creepy walker things
Remake when?
