Dark Souls 2 is so fucking ugly and soulless it's ridiculous

Attached: Sinh_Flying.jpg (1920x1080, 502K)

Finally got all achievements in Dark Souls 2 yesterday
Ask me anything

so ds2 shills? dumb remake incoming?

and ADP and story and enemy placements and bosses and map design. Apart from that i agree, it's fine.

Are you atoning for your sins?

I was talking about the image dummy

no

kino

I still dont understand dragons in 2.
In 3, its canon some were still alive living with Gwyn son and at the end of the world in the Ringed City.
But why in 2 again?

some civilisation made an underground city and found a sleeping dragon there. They decided to erect a temple around it and worship it while it slept. Then some dick king led an invasion on the city, woke up the dragon, and the dragon gassed all 6 million people currently in the city. The end.

Is this city/temple the Dragon Eerie?

i love ds3 and fucking hate ds2.
but after 90 hours into ds3 i am tired and need some new game.

Attached: nigger ball saved me.webm (1024x576, 2.02M)

uh no it's Shulva the sanctum city

I dunno why dragon aerie exists. Maybe it's just a cool club for dragons.

The king and his brother tried some experiments. Dragons were something they just made while trying to stop the cycle.

The dragon under the city in the dlc is just still alive from the ancient times. Not every drake died.

Well the dragon in the Dragon Shrine is manufactured by Aldia, it drops a Giant Soul when you kill it.
I suspect having a fake dragon made it easier to subdue the drakes so Vendrick could use them in battles, hence his Dragonriders.

the snow city is literally the worst fucking DLC place in all of souls. retarded fucking backtracking all over the place, the stupid tundra, the retarded enemies with annoying placements and movesets(though that is a dark souls 2 standard). not to mention it's graphically weak as fuck. the tigers look like they're from a ps2 game. and the background buildings look ridiculously amateurish when the snowstorm is over. everyone likes to jack off to the final boss of the area but he's only really cool to fight the first go. other attempts, you realize fighting the knights to get to him is a sluggish bore and you have to do it each time, so if you die lol.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 71K)

I always feel everything in 2 was made just to annoy us on purpose. It's like designed to be frustrating. Not in a fun way where you beat and feel awesome. Youre just glad when its over.

Reminder that SotFS was designed as a challenge run for people who already completed ds2

because they weren't real dragons, why don't you read the fucking items
how do you expect to understand souls' lore if you don't spend dozens of hours reading all the items you can find

I actually really love the vista of the rest of the Eleum Loyce, particularly from the tower with the snowball you can send tumbling down.

Attached: drangleic_castle_by_4dimensional-d7hkib1.jpg (774x1032, 66K)

I only finished it once and it was a lifetime ago. It wasn't a fun experience.

This is your idea of soul?
A rushed piece of shit with poorly tiling textures clearly visable all over the place?
Look at the absolute state of you, you fucking retard.

>mfw greatly enjoyed all the souls game while Yea Forums is still screeching about ds2 looking like shit

Apart from the textures, what about it seems rushed?

DeS: 8/10
DaS: 7.5/10
DaS II: 4/10
BB: 7/10
DaS III: 5/10
Sekiro: 6.5/10

I love Dark Souls 2 and 3
Will I like the first one?

>Taking pride in having shit taste

no reasons why you wouldn't, it's the same, just a bit clunkier and older looking

>other than the thing that literally makes it look butt-ugly, it's fine

>u-u just have shit taste!!!
I see

How is it? Living with shit taste?

Gobbling up anything placed in front of you is not something to be proud of, user.

Let me fix that for you
DeS: 7/10
DaS: 9/10
DaS II: 9/10
BB: 8/10
DaS III: 9/10
Sekiro: 10/10

Supreme champion

The level design is a marked improvement from the main game, but it is unfortunate that you couldn't explore further into Eleum Loyce. There's even one particularly large building in the distance that the players cannot reach. The level design used the vertical elements well, but ultimately they were a bit too vertical and not horizontal enough.

calling anything that isn't a masterpiece 'shit' is not something to be proud of, user

heh

Attached: only on ps4.jpg (2402x720, 431K)

But this is because the flow of time and space are convoluted!
That's how I explain that fucking flying lava river!!!!

The dlc areas in DS2 are some of the best in the entire series.

I mean when you've got as good a base to work off as DS1/DeS, a very mediocre game like DS2 IS pretty shit, even if it's still pretty good relative to other games. It's a BIG downgrade in every way other than online features, how is that not going to disappoint people?

imagine not letting yourself enjoy a game because you can see tiling in the textures if you look hard enough and used this to convince yourself it's a shit game

>a very mediocre game like DS2
it's not, though

It is relative to DS1.
>if you look hard enough
It's fucking blatant user.
>used this to convince yourself it's a shit game
Don't try to strawman me user, it's a shit game because of the actual game design, not the visuals.

No. The base game areas are so bad that you feel like the dlc ones are more than they really are.

Everything other than the first line meant for

No nigger.

Let me fix that for you
DeS: 10/10
DaS: 95/10
DaS II: 8/10
BB: 9/10
DaS III: 6/10
Sekiro: Dunno yet, haven't finished. Cool ideas but it feels like a chore and the combat is even more simplified.

>good level design
>even more mob variation than in the first one
>more weapons and some of the weapons that were in 1 as a joke are actually viable now
>best pvp
you can look all you want, just stop making up arguments

>unironically shitting on the best souls game: DS3
YIKES

None of that shit means much when the actual enemies and bosses are fucking shit to fight though.

I would go further and say that ds2 is the most fun one.

No. They really are better. They put you in more unique situations. Exploration of the environment is much more engaging and the enemies are actually different from another. The weapons found are some of the most unique in the series aswell. Not saying they're perfect. But compared to everything that followed ds2 DLC, yeah I'd say they are more engaging.

Go even further and drive off a fucking cliff.

My current build in SotFS is me carrying around 6 Sanctum Crossbows and shooting things.
It doesn't do shit against some bosses tho.

I'm sorry my bro gave you a hard time, maybe next time don't die 17 times before reaching him so you can have 100% of your health to fight him, okay?

Attached: SotFS_Pursuer.jpg (1000x601, 160K)

DS2 is just shit. Lots of artificial difficulty (spam mob enemies), terrible hitboxes, asinine level design, boring lore.

there are lots of bosses but most of them are the same. big armored dude with telegraphed attacks. lots of weapon variety but most of them are technically the same.

basically, B-team have never heard the mantra 'less is more'. they just spam mobs, weapons & bosses and hope it will cover the shitty mechanics.

>you're the next to get stab

Attached: 505816b8667aea0c637744ec967a09f0.jpg (430x390, 33K)

Ds3 was so fucking average. It's like a direct sequel to the first game only they had learned nothing from their mistakes and churned out even more uninspired environments and bosses. Literally soulless.

>people use time and space being convoluted to justify anything retarded about 2 and 3
>people too braindead to realize time being convoluted is why summoning works

I think 3 has jaw dropping areas that are fun to navigate since they always have some optimal run through path you can exploit so its always up to you how you approach. And considering the only one that still makes me return to it until today is 3, i disagree.

>Best level design in the series
>Best bosses in the series

Did you play 3 first or read about it on Yea Forums after they told you what to think?

>It's like a direct sequel to the first game only they had learned nothing from their mistakes and churned out even more uninspired environments and bosses.
so you didn't play it?

I'm not one of these fags they keep pointing at ds3 to divert attention from DS2s problems because that area was pretty fucking bad but at least it was different and fun to figure out for the first time as opposed to the godawful ds3 swamp dlcs

>It's like a direct sequel to the first game
we get it, anor londo is a rehash

>out of all the areas in DaS 2 they bring back the most boring one, Earthen Peak
>and turn it into another fucking swamp

DaSs level and world design is better. The only thing ds3 has got over other games is great bosses.

when did they bring back earthen peak

Ringed City DLC. It's that poison shit area with the angels.

Yes I don't fucking get it. Gael and the twin Demons were kino but the rest of that dlc was so bad. Same for the first dlc, everything but the wolves area and friede was shit.

DS3 definitely wasn’t the best in the series. Was it your first souls game?

oh, weird

>MUH MAJULA
>MUH EMERALD HERALD
>MUH SOUL
Kek, 2cucks are absolutely deluded. Deflect all the criticism you want, but it doesn't make it less shit. The hideous N64 graphics are just the tip of the trash pile that is DaS2.

no, it was demon's souls

I'm sorry about your taste, though

>liking linear souls 3

Did you enjoy grinding the mad warrior over and over again for the hidden weapon spell?

it's like a HD texture mod for doom... look at those obvious repeating textures

The only thing good about DS3 was visuals. You can't prove me wrong. Shit weapon variety, shit replayability, shit covenants, shit miracles, shitty bloodborne-esque locations, shit plot.

I'll give you world design easily with how it all links together, but individual levels in das1 are more linear than *most* of 3.

Not saying 1 was bad by any means, it's my favorite.

good bossfights and soundtracks, but sadly you need to go through the shit levels before each boss.

Attached: Ebri with cheese.jpg (784x693, 92K)

You only need 30 kills for that spell, the 100 kills is for the Bellkeeper clothes.

can we all just admit that demons souls, dark souls 1-3 and bloodborne have some great and bad areas, and some great and shit bosses?

The pacing in that dlc was awful but honestly I hate the 1st one more because fuck poison and fuck those infinite poise soldiers. Also the fact that they reskinned the soldiers for the 3 dlcs is just hilarious.
Yeah but it can be annoying since the covenant is dead and buried and the mad warriors don't always spawn.

Soul. This is where Miyazaki blew his creative load at his peak.

Soulless contractual obligation that lost focus somewhere near release and ended being a rushed pile of shovelware.

That being said:
BB = DaS1 > DeS >>> DaS3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DaS2

Attached: IMG_1059.jpg (800x1131, 174K)

>good bossfights
only Nameless King and Gael were good

That wasn't as much of a pain as grinding falconers for sunlight medals
(I was too late in the game to get any through co-op)

literally every single souls game is linear senpai
maybe you should actually give them a try

People overrate gael. What a shitty boss. Ooooh artorias flips again. Shitty homeless santa who just shows up in the dlc with no buildup.

Not trying to troll here, but why it seems that everyone hates Ds2? I enjoyed it, not the best of them, but still enjoyed it.

Attached: 1543036112649.png (436x360, 190K)

Yeah true, but for me the section from road of sacrifices to the end of farron woods is the most boring and miserable experience in any of the souls games

no, this is Yea Forums and we must cultivate counter-culture
fuck you nigger for having an opinion and not seeing the world as either white or black

It's not good. It's not rocket science.

I would, but 2 has no great bosses, only okay ones.

I think it mostly comes down to the way it was marketed (versus the reality that was found out only after launch), the high expectations that DS had set up and the game's rocky development
As said, the end result being that the game is simply not very good

Both bossfights and soundtracks were not particularly impressive either Bossfights are not better than those in DS2 and there are still many gimmicky bosses. Soundtracks are pretty similar in quality across DkS1-DkS2-DkS3.

Gael was good as a boss, what you are talking about is shitty plot. As a bossfight on itself it was interesting.

Thx user, it makes sense

I always thought this was funny, but nobody ever gets it.

>reading posts
>people don't like it
>do i keep reading their posts?
>fuck that, i'd better ask why

Oh shit I got it now

People don't even know it's a joke.

the real ingame explanation is that everyone's brain who came to drangleic is literally rotting away and they forget more and more things, like the real path between areas

brainlets like you are just too stupid to realize that this isn't just an explanation for ironkeep enterance, in the entire game you are traveling through a whole continent while you are only walking for a few seconds to cross to the next area

Well, the dragons in Drangleic were experiments of Aldia and Vendrick. When faced with the curse of the undead, hollowing and the never ending age of fire, they started to look for answers. They couldn't find answers in the age of fire because it was diseased, they couldn't find answers in the age of dark because it was ruined through the fleeting form that man assumed, and so they looked towards the only other possible thing: The age of ancients. The age of ancients was the only really "healthy" age and populated with powerful dragons who lived forever, without suffering things like hollowing, so obviously they tried to somehow resurrect dragons, and combine them with humans to create a race of humans who transcend the curse of the undead. The emerald herald is one such failed experiment.
The dragon in Shulva was just a surviving ancient dragons, was just a surviving ancient dragon who people worshipped.

you've gotta stop uploading this into every fucking thread man

this thread has the unintended side effect of outing all the zoomers

"le graphics aren't good enough"

Tell me some stuff a scrub needs to know. I dropped the game like 5 times before. Currently on a new run, just killed the Ruin sentinels.

Why duck scare?

What are you wanting to do? Just complete the game?

Yeah, complete it and do everything (or at least everything that isn´t too tedious) the game has to offer. Not really interested in PVP or covenants.

Enlightened post except ds2=ds3, they're equally bad for different reasons.

for me: ugly as hell, unlike in the other games, including bb, trash mobs have hyper armor and fighting multiple knights over and over again isn't fun

It shits over most of the bosses in DS1 that's for sure. Barring O&S, Gwyn and the dlc they aint got shit

Where's Cosh?
