Why does it matter? Gears was made by epic games, a 3rd party studio. They were never going to buy epic games so they acquired one of the directors of gears' studio and made it into a first party game when it was originally a 3rd party exclusive. Mojang still makes minecraft. As for all other Microsoft exclusives aside from bungie leaving nearly all of the exclusives that have been on xbox were 3rd party exclusives from the likes of Sega, rockstar, KT, FROM etc. They've barely had any first party presence in their history aside from a couple of studios.

Like what? Name them. The OG xbox exclusive library was 95% 3rd party exclusive and none were made by MS themselves. All the big games like JSR, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Steel Battalion, Ninja Gaiden etc were all 3rd party. The only first party games I can think of were Fable and Halo. Not even Mechassault was a 1st party exclusive it was a 3rd party dev who made it but MS owned the IP.

Recore and State of Decay 2 though are underrated. Both have great gameplay but failed due to being buggy as hell at start + being marketed as AAA game. On the other hand you kinda expect 1st party games to be AAA.

Xbox Scarlett is a pre built PC optimised for PC. There are two versions. The "normal" version that's $399 with basic 4k support at 30fps and an "elite" that's 4k as standard and 60fps on all games bare minimum for $899. All Xbox games will work on windows. Scarlett uses windows with a front end that will be released for pc similar to Steam Big Picture.

Controller is the same as Xbox one.

i wouldn't be so sure. last known tlou numbers across both ps4 (tlou remastered) and ps3 had it at 17m a year ago (2018). halo 3 reached 15m on 360 alone back in 2012 and if we compare ps3 to 360 numbers alone they're probably very similar. halo 3 could probably have sold more if it wasn't succeeded by reach and halo 4. tlou is still the main game in its series to it's the only one to buy. the halo 3 scene died out pretty quickly after reach came out.

No it doesn't, because there isn't a single game on the Xbox One X that can go above 60 FPS while the Rx 580 can. for starters, and of shared games the RX 580 will still outperform it. Look at Hellblade, for instance. The RX 580 can to 4k with high graphical settings without compromising anything else. The Xbox One X has to shift between three different modes (high performance, high graphics, or enriched visuals) while any RX 580 would be able to do these all at once. You can even get 1080p 60 FPS on games like Ass Creeds origins on a mid tier PC build (RX 580 + Ryzen 5 2600) but on an xbone x it's stuck at 60 FPS and a dynamic resolution.

the console market is a combination of several factors and unless MS gets the rumored bully 2 at the end of this year as an exclusive, it won't sell consoles based on these few indie or smaller budget titles. halo might shift a few million but its at that point where everyone already has the console they want and if you look at statistics very few people own more than one gaming platform (not including mobile). next gen will be where xbox defines itself because things are too set in stone with this gen.

e3 right now is just fan service for existing fans or gaming enthusiasts who own multiple platforms. the average casual will buy the platform his friend is playing fifa on. this gen its ps4 last gen it was xbox 360 (also the wii but that served its own market) and before that it was ps2.

MS are already making games which scale from toasters to high end machines because of the pc market and that'll transition to their consoles too. pretty genius if you ask me. it doesn't prevent console exclusive features either like ray tracing on the better consoles/high end pc's but no ray tracing on the lower end consoles/low/midrange pc's.

no they won't. the xbox one is using ancient tech as it is (ddr3 instead of gddr5, jaguar apu) yet devs are managing to run modern games on it just fine with minimal effort. sure, resolution will be lower and framerate won't be as consistent but it will still work just fine. a $99 xbox one price cut will suit that level of performance perfectly and they won't even have to change the code at all. it'll just scale down. nobody will expect magic from those ports anyway. it makes sense as an offering.
