The game was shit but it's still the best /nightdrive/ simulator I've ever played.
Oh OP, don't pretend you...
ACT LIKE YOU KNOW!
4 was Radio Broker, which kicks the shit out of Mirror Park
Mirror park is unironically a great station though, zoomer/bloomer shit is made up by "them" to keep you from enjoying all kinds of music.
Chill vibes inc
>The game was shit
nice meme
VCS Emotion 98.3 was based
The story started really promising. The idea of a gangbanger, rich ex-con on witness protection and a deranged redneck as the three characters had so much potential.
I just don't think the writing ever capitalized on the potential for absurdity in L.A. with these characters, instead they went full rockstar which is only fun up to a point because EVERYONE becomes a charicature.
Michael's arc was decent, Franklin never really went anywhere and Trevor dissappointed me the most. He was funny when he was sardonic with a hint of insanity, but his lol so randumb crazy!! just turned me off completely.
Maybe calling the game shit is too much, you're right, but it frustrates me because it was this close to being an absolute 10/10, with its baffling flaws dragging it down. The wanted system, the lack of interiors and the not-quite-realized countryside dragged it down in gameplay, as did a lack of actually fun side content. What was there was okay, but so shallow there should have been more of it.
Ok, I can agree with that.
On the positive side, what they did on 360/PS3 hardware is absolutely incredible. They worked slav-tier black magic to make it look as good as it did.
It's still a great game. Now you're making me want to mod it so I can drive a Tesla around and RP as a successful Silicon Valley person who lives in SoCal
>RP as a successful Silicon Valley person who lives in SoCal
That's why I stopped playing it. Being a poor 3rd worlder and seeing all those fancy houses and happy lives was too depressing for me.

Middle class euro here. It pisses me off too. Let’s be passive aggressive to Americans online in vengeance
Which is funny, because it took them over five years to get rainy nights working in the online outside of scripted missions.

LSUR is pretty awesome. It's like Soulwax, except good.
Blonded was fucking dogshit aside from maybe two songs.

Honestly, I thought Trevor ended up being the most human. Once he reunites with Michael he starts dropping his "randumb" shit and starts showing off how messed up he is. He was bad before, but after losing basically everyone he considered family, he totally lost it. Even with all the betrayals, he finds it unforgivable if Franklin kills Michael. If you betray him, he doesn't even fight, he just asks to be put to death. Trevor is the only one I really cared for, Franklin had an air of invincibility about him, and Michael is Judas.
It is if you aren't extremely rich and don't leave your neighborhood. We have the bubonic plague, Typhus, and typhoid fever, as well as Hepatitis B in the streets and shit everywhere.

Neither Franklin nor Michael eat stew with human ears in it, or go on rampages on the street, or kill innocent civilians like Floyd or Vanilla Unicorn's manager. Fuck Trevor, I enjoyed watching the fucker burn
V had a lot of great songs spread out, all the stations had some good hits
Yeah. The songs on radio mirror park were gorgeous, i love the synth pop and pretty vocals. It was amazing for driving around at night and actually makes me nostalgic when I listen to it. The songs on that station are catchy but sound kind of melancholy too .

Rebel Radio was objectively the best.
GTA6 will be in Seoul
Yes, Mirror Park was the best of the lot.
The whole soundtrack was severely hit or miss, mostly miss for most stations.
Mirror park had the most bangers out of them all.
Just like Radio Broker. Mirror Park had higher highs, but Broker was better overall.
I did a road trip through CA recently, and far more of it looks like the area around Trevor's house than the area around Michael's.
is it worth playing gta online after 4 years?
No.
if you start it, you're going to be severely gimped. You'll need to buy that criminal enterprise pack just to be at the very bottom rung of progression as the grind to the top is too much of a slog to start off by doing jobs that pay $12k at most.
What is the progression?
Radio stations in V sucks gigantic fucking ass. Every other GTA had good stations except V. GTA V sucked gigantic fucking ass.

If Kim Jong Un nukes California, I will build a statue of the Supreme Leader.
They include the starter pack by default now. If you're on PC you may as well just pick up a new key, they go for about $15.
Do VIP missions and whatever lame meme mode they have on 2x until you have two and a half million dollars to buy the cheapest office and vehicle warehouse, then grind top-end cars until you can afford a bunker with upgrades, then run cars and weapons until your eyes bleed.
If you have friends you can run heists. Don't attempt them with randoms or non-English speakers. It's torture.
There are other businesses, but most of them don't have as good of a ROI.
thanks for writing it out for me, pretty much exactly what i was going to say.
Makes sure you've got friends, or can make some. Also don't forget to just have fun and do stupid shit, otherwise the game just becomes a job.

Happy to help. I've been doing this for a while.
Good advice, too. Online has turned into a sci-fi post-apocalyptic business simulator and it's easy to get caught up in running businesses and forget to actually enjoy the toys you grind for. And really, you don't even need that if you put your mind to it. Doesn't cost a thing to do dumb crap like try and land a pickup truck in a train car.
You've been playing this shit 3 and a half hours per day since launch
Yeah I autism'd hard for two weeks with a group of people so I could buy the oppressor starting with only a cocaine and fake ID lockup. I nearly quit right after I finally bought it so it's advice i like to give to everyone.
>Radio Hipster Trash
>best station
you dropped your onions
That happened to me at 360 launch. I wanted a supercar, so I grinded and grinded and grinded and grinded until I could buy the car, and by then I was so burnt out that I only ever drove it around the block once or twice before shelving the game until heists dropped.
Speaking of the Oppressor, some of the dumbest fun I've ever had in the game was on an OG Oppressor with the back tire shot out. It's like a Wipeout vehicle on crack.
Absolute kino
The GTAV talk radio is really lacking. What's there is good but there's just not a lot of it so you seem to always be hearing the same stuff. WKTT in IV was much better.
I never finished the GTA V main story. Is it worth completing?
meh, its okay. I just play singleplayer modded myself.
>Literally Who: The Station

/thread
I think it's pretty clear that the game was originally just going to be Michael as his is the most "complete" story before they went with the 3 characters meme.
I liked the story but the pacing was a bit shit, everything escalates way too quickly. In IV Niko had to do a lot of grunt work before he started doing the big stuff, in V Franklin goes from gangbanger to doing high value heists with very little inbetween. Really needed a couple of hours just doing gang shit to start with.
>he uses independance FM

It's irie mon
for the DUDE WEED LMAO audience
shit is cancer honestly
>The wanted system, the lack of interiors and the not-quite-realized countryside
These are my three biggest complaints too which is odd since Rockstar made an absolute assload of great interiors for the game (including in Online) yet they only have them available for certain missions.
Also what's the fucking deal with patching out the ability to visit Norh Yankton in Online if they're never going to fucking use the place again?
It can be a really fun game to play at times but man, it just feels like untapped potential that will never be finished since Rockstar refuses to put out single player story DLC (which they promised at launch btw) and even with all the content they added to Online that mode still feels incomplete too. Now Rockstar will leave RDR2 dead in the water.
Not really. It doesn't unlock anything special.
>get nightclub with Solomun as the first DJ
>keep thinking about switching over to Tale of Us or Dixon just to change things up a bit
>Solomun starts playing IN THE CAR CRASH or The Q
I'll never let go of this dude, the dance floor gets too fucking intense.
I've been playing from the start in 2013 and the one thing that's stayed the same is that the game isn't very fun unless you're playing with your own friends/crew or you're just doing roleplay (like being a police detective or some shit), you alsp need a shitload of money to do anything and now I'm too worried about my cash dropping below $15 mil to do anything really crazy.
I feel like I'm near retirement in GTA Online.
I stoped playing after I did everything I wanted .
shooting kids of their silly flying bikes gets boring fast .its wierd how they all play and look the same way .they even write the same butthurt messages .

all the stations in V were ass
>actual real life clubs will never have music this good, instead its just normie trash
Sad.
It's repetetive as fuck. Most people got burned by the lack of sandbox freedom in RDR2, well, I noticed that already with GTAV.
You're better off downloading a 100% save to have fun with.
I wouldn't say all of them but holy shit the hip hop stations were awful this time around, even fucking IV had way better hip hop songs.
Any other boomers get fucking HYPED when feel good Inc comes on?
What, you don't like every club in the current year playing bass boosted reggaeton?
BLONDED = Flylo FM > everything else
How old were you when GTA V released six years ago, anons?
Yeah that's where I started, I bought it on PC launch but only now do I finally have one good enough to run it. Somehow my duped car cash didn't get removed when I transferred to xbox one and PC so I bought the oppressor as soon as I got on.
This plus the story just goes by so fast (only 69 missions) which leaves little time to develop the three protagonists, which makes the final 5 or so missions feel super rushed.
They just make Michael solve most of his family shit in one, then they take the biggest score of their lives next, then they wipe out every single antagonist in the last mission (with the last dude not even putting up much of a fight at all).
Also why the fuck wasn't Madrazo the main villain? They set him up clearly from the start for the role (having him get fucked over hard by Michael and Trevor) yet they just drop him halfway through the game to get replaced by some annoying billionaire douchebag who never comes across as a real threat compared to a cartel druglord.

Someone put out their own version of Nightride FM on youtube. Would be cool if they bring Nightride to VI.
>played through IV's single player story 5 times (once a year through 2013) and had a blast each time (also played the DLC episodes a couple times each)
>only played through GTA V twice (once on 360 and once on PS4 to get a feeling for the new gen)
The hype in V's campaign honestly dies down for me right after the first heist when Trevor is introduced, I don't know what it is exactly but I would have been fine if the whole game were just Michael teaching Franklin the ropes and tackling heists around Los Santos together.
The game just gets too wacky after Trevor is introduced and every heist after that doesn't feel grounded in reality in any way.

my birthday was last month
I wish I had hackerbux again, my friends stopped playing in 2014 after Rockstar patched all the money up on last gen and now I've got no one to play with on PS4 since the /vg/ group never plays anymore.
I thought V´s station were kinda forgettable. The classic hip-hop station was ok, loved that they included one of the absolute GOAT songs ("Mind Playing Tricks on Me") but to be honest, I listened to Babymetal on a custom radio station, 95% of the time when I replayed the game a few months ago
Objectively wrong, this was best
The meth was already killing him, Trevor just finishee the job.
Rockstar cannot write a climax or even a good rising action these days to save their lives. Let me break down the very MOMENT gta v falls apart story wise.
The story was incredibly promising all the way up until Michael meets with Devin Weston. Before that, it was a tale of three troubled individuals coming together for criminal action to fix their lives. But after this, it’s all just downhill as the plot hill slams back to the bottom. All the rising action? Lost. Because now the protagonists are back to what they STARTED DOING. Which is hating their lives and doing dirty jobs for other people. Franklin LITERALLY comments on this a few missions later. It’s a shitty way to pad the game out and facilitate a “falling out” between the three protagonists. It’s fucking LAZY. They could’ve done so much more to build up, because there are so many characters in this game that are underutilized.
Michael’s family, Lamar, Stretch, Trevor’s goons. They could’ve had them doing more roles, or their own heists, or fucking SOMETHING. Not this “lol start over!! We don’t know what character development is!”
because it's great
new game bad old game good

Devin Weston is genuinely one of the shittiest vidya characters ever made and never feels like a major antagonist at any point.

I still can't believe that there are people who unironically believe that GTA Vs story and characters are good. Even Saints Row 4 had a better, more dramatic plot and it was a full-on parody.
I couldn't stand any of the characters in V. Not a single one of them. Everyone was either 24/7 whiny, douchey or sarcastic. Even well liked NPC like Lamar were annoying and actually quite pointless. The "main antagonists" were nothing but annoying assholes. Not intimidating, not complex or at least amusing, simply typical Californian douchebags (nothing compared to the likes of Tenpenny).
Pretty hit or miss
I loved listening to K Rose while doing missions outside the city, but it's not god tier and putting flash that low is a crime
