Finally I figured out what always bothered me about their pixel art. And it's the absolute lack of dithering. Even though they're going for multiple levels of shading they never transition from one shade to another with slight dithering, it's always very flat and thick, looks a little off. Still great but heh, it does need that extra pass of dithering for greater grit.

Okay but serious talk I watched the livestream the devs did when the trailer came out and this is what I gleamed from it:
Art is Goya-inspired. Probably not a metroidvania but definitely non-linear or at the very least it seems like it's going to loop into itself a lot with multiple expanding forks but there might be actual movement upgrades later on. Definitely inspired by Dark Souls' mechanics. Combat is just okay. Seemed a bit shallow but has potential. Spends "souls" to unlock other moves for your main weapon. I don't remember if it has multiple weapons or maybe sub-weapons. You have equipable spells. You can augment equip system. 15-20 hours long on average. New Game+. Made in Unity. All that jazz.
And then there's these kickstarter goals that spoil more of the features it might have. Also they never confirmed if it was a bush or not.
