Is voice acting really necessary on video games?
When done well, it can make a game even better.
I barely know about this chibi guy beyond the one image of him being posted getting called out as a cheater. Is he fucking retarded? Should have let him take out the loan and piss away his money.
>necessary
of course not
but it can enhance it in plenty ways, even related to gameplay, of which should be the primary focus of video games
isn't it a fucking shame how gameplay seems to be the last thing on anyone's mind nowadays?
depends, if there is literally no story and all it is is just grunt sounds for jumping and attacking, it's kinda pointless. But if it's story based, then I don't see why you wouldn't do it.
He dates 14-15yo girls and no one calls the FBI for some reason
ironically all of them cheated on him
depends on the game i'd say, but there wasn't really voice "acting" in yooka laylee to begin with, so i don't even know what he planned on this turning into.
Voice acting is the reason for the decline of video games. The immense cost of voice actors both in budget and filesize as well as having to animate scenes around the voices is cost that could have gone to better AI, larger worlds, more things to do, more complex systems and character interactions that can be written easier because you don't have to find a voice actor for them. Plus lazy ass teens who barely know how to read have zero incentive to since everything is voiced.

its not necessary. in some ways i prefer just reading because you can take it in at your own pace. also did he actually waste 8k on that or did he wise up?
more or less, yes.
Why the fuck do you think filesizes are bloated to shit these days, moron?
>Why the fuck do you think filesizes are bloated to shit these days, moron?
Uncompressed textures and models because of how slow reading is from blu-ray, and how little overhead systems have for decompression on the fly.
Same reason I have 500mb/s internet and cheap storage instead of 56kb and a 40gb hard drive you piece of shit
Usefull for world characters to add some weight to important scenes, utterly useless and counterproductive on the MC since that means the volume of answers is limited by the VA himself, also no nodding without breaking the immersion.
Why does it make you feel good to look at total failures?
Does it make you feel superior to someone?
textures and models don't take a tenth of the filesize audio does.
>bloat good because I buy good
epic
Hello LA, you're up way past your bed time...
yes
>Uncompressed textures and models
>models
Confirmed for having no idea how models work but alright, even large structures and player models aren't even a single megabyte worth of data.
him being immortal 1000 year old dragon doesn't mean that he isn't mentally 12 year old
