The effort needed to play Rosa at a high level is wasted because she is just so weak. Rosa by herself is completely worthless. Miserable jump, horrendous movement, and not a single move you have to respect. Poor Luma just doesn't work half the time. It's takes no effort to de tether Luma form Rosa like, shielded dash attacks and shit. Even if Luma didn't die from a gust of wind Rosalina as a puppet character is abysmal. If you send Luma out he will try to stay a certain set distance from Rosa. You can't influence this distance even make him stay put in the spot he tries to get to. So the space he "controls" isn't something you can set up reliably because in addition to the minimal control it is also slow as shit in this game that is all about movement.
I could go on and on about the shit show that is Rosalina but you get the point. Why go through all the trouble of playing this "character" with a gimmick that doesnt work when you can play anyone else. Hell, Little Mac might be considered worse but at least his shit works

I main her, and not really. Even if you are a god at positioning and recalling luna her moves are so weak it almost doesn't matter. I think she's S-tier in edge guarding however, but C-tier or worse in just about everything else.

Ssb4 was a different animal. The system changes in ultimate was her biggest need. Smash 4 was slower and more defensive. Rosalina liked that

In that case do you know about something else? I was just playing Ice Climbers in Ultimate and noticed their Up-B still does a decent length jump even if your partner is dead or detached from you, while I seem to remember it being practically nothing in Brawl. Did they buff that or am I imagining it.

Was talking about Brawl- not Brawl. In regular Brawl I think single up B was about short hop height, in melee it was maybe like half popo's size.
