Why did Beamdog abandon this game?
Why did Beamdog abandon this game?
>Beamdog
there's your answer
beamdog are literal hacks
Nathyrra IS a good wife!
Did they?
It wasn't making enough money I suppose? And the multiplayer is still dead, even after all the promotions, streams and community events.
NWN's lead designer Brent Knowles is actually working at Beamdog, same as the other ex-BioWare devs.
yes, no updates for several months and they used to have weekly nwn streams
Maybe a new project?
Does this support lan play? I tried to play the original with friends today and it just gave me errors saying we had the same cd key.
The Diamond Edition (that used to be sold on GOG) had the same CD key for every player. Literally the same experience as pirating it lmao.
Buy the EE, it's worth it. 1k daily players on Steam alone.
Because it's a boring game.
>boring
NWN is the best D&D experience on PC
That's actually Temple of Elemental Evil if you're looking for authenticity.
You could request a unique key and GOG would give you one.
TRENT OSTER IS A NIGGER
Did any new modules come out of this?
go back to your mind control den
nope
I always hear people talk about this game, what's so good about it? All I know is that it's turn based and by Troika.
>abandon this game
what? how?
It has a lot of options in combat like you'd actually have in a D&D game.
its an almost 1:1 implementation of 3.5 ruleset. pretty fun if you like d&d, absolute garbage if you dont
I've literally only played A Dance with Rogues and never touched the base game or expansions.
And you've missed nothing
>never touched the base game or expansions
The OC is not very good but you should definitely play the expansions. HotU in particular is BG2 tier
Because it brings nothing new to the table. Yeah, there are back end changes for multiplayer and servers, but to how many players does that actually matter? Not to mention it splintered the already tiny online community.
Is it just solid combat or is there any cool roleplay/story stuff? I don't need anything complex, just enough to drive things forward.
>no new modules
>decided to instead just sell you the old ones
yeah, i'm sure getting fleshed out darkness over daggerford makes it all worth it somehow.
>used to be
what can you not redownload it if it's already bought?
NWN literally lets you play a D&D game though. Not some premade campaign with the same scripted events.
It's 100% low level dungeon crawling, incredibly boring if you're not a D&D autist.
HotU is overrated trash
I hate Beamdog but I hope the EE inspires more people to make more fun modules for this thing. It's the most moddable game next to Bethesda shit.
No. Their problem was they should've had couple of modules already in development to keep the momentum after release. Not to mention game released unfinished with not even all the models "updated".
and all of this happened shortly after based Phil left beamdog
>no updates since november
>on sale with crazy cuts all the time
F
Let's just hope someone leaks the source code at some point.
Doesn't NWN have a crazy campaign editor?
I remember something about it when the first version came out, like what 15 years ago?
Sorry I've never actually played it.
>Doesn't NWN have a crazy campaign editor?
It's pretty powerful, yes. The scripting is actually pretty intuitive and some of the stuff the community has created like the PRC, CEP and all the modules/PWs are impressive.
>Why did company abandon X game
>X game literally just got a big announcement regarding update, port, or major feature
Every fucking time.
They just announced it will be coming to Switch with both crossplay and mod support.
Fake and gay
Probably the best 3D RPG making tools you'll find to this day.
