Fable 4

What would you like to see in Fable 4?

In my opinion Fable 4 should have been a prequel to the first game where you play as William Black /Scythe.

Or at least Nostro or the Guild Master.

Id honestly look more forward to a complete reboot or that soft reboot that was leaked. Never was a fan of prequels since we already know how shit will play out later.

But we know so little about William Black. We only know he was the first user of will and beat The Knight and Queen on Blades.
Not much more.
They could explore the Void, where Jack and the other 2 came from and so on.

IF the leaks are real they are pretty much doing a soft reboot with the hole asteroid thing.

Don't tie it to the Hero of Oakvale family.
Set it before the first game
Evil and Good effects your casual looks again rather than just saving it for an ultimate emote, maybe add some secondary alignment options so you'll have more evil/good looks than "Blonde Jesus" and "Stinky Balding Satan"

I hope it gets set after three with technology. It'll be neat to see the series eventually advance into modern times. That was what Molyneux wanted.

Sure, there are some unanswered questions in the lore that could shape a new game, but the story in prequels always feels restricted, because it has to tie into the sequels.

terrible idea

Old kingdom prequel or bust

MY ARMOUR
MY HELMET
MY SWORD AND MY SHIELD

GATHER FOR ME AND THE PATH I SHALL YIELD

Make being good and evil have truly equal advantages and disadvantages. And not just hurr there is a bad town where everything is reversed. I liked the Good=Poor but loved Bad=Rich but hated angle.

Bring back aging and scaring but redefine it.
Same with growing and bulking.

This was Legends path.
I believe the Heros bloodline was supposed to be one in that and maybe even magic?

While Legends sounded bad I wouldn't mind a Fable in a modern setting.

Fair enough

>Bring back aging
I dont want a wrinkled Waifu, opinion discarded
I like everything else though

I hope Playground Games delivers.
First Fable I am looking forward since the first

I'd like Lionhead to completely ignore 2 & 3 and only focus on what made TLC good. And just make the same but better. Bigger areas, more characters, a huge Guild, with ranks and a ton of optional sidequests, and specialization based on your childhood in the Guild. Also, NPCs getting old with you.

>specialization based on your childhood in the Guild. Also, NPCs getting old with you.
Would buy that in a second.

Just deadend at Pre-middleaged and have it be done at set intervals rather than be attached to your progress where you can accidentally age 20 years inbetween two quests because you decided to do a bunch of sidequests and mini-games. Also cut out the whole "Romance any NPC" bit just have romancable supporting characters both linked to the main story and just out in the world but with actual personality rather than just spamming their favorite item and emote, also they actually age with you along with your kids.
>Specialization makes it so your childhood friends take up the others leading to different character outcomes as they age

I honestly cant remember a single good mechanic from fable 3. The only one that came close to being decent was the part in the endgame where you had to make decisions concerning your kingdom, but that was negated by just having large sums of money, which were easy to acquire

Also bring back the whorehouse

Interesting but infuriating, which I guess was kind of the point but tying it to the Karma system was just bullshit.
The "non"pause screen had its charms.

>>Specialization makes it so your childhood friends take up the others leading to different character outcomes as they age

Damn this sound really good especially the first point.
I wonder what they will cook up for the multiplayer

i just want it to be Fable 2 + sims tbqh

I just hope it won't be Skyrim with Fable Legends for the multiplayer

Also this flesh out the family aspect

Oh yeah, forgot about the pause/hub thing. It was neat, but it still wasnt as good as the guild base from 1.

Simplest answer I can think of is either an invasion/summon system where they can play with the idea of heroes from different timelines overlapping into your world because some magic fuckery. Maybe they could just relegate it to an arena game where you fight other heroes. In the end the only issue is they have to be utilized in a way that doesn't affect the game's story.
>With the aging system, kids can reach the age where you started being a hero
>Depending on how you did or didn't raise them they can grow to admire you, despise you, or remain indifferent.
>If you wish they can even become a squire of sorts
>If you were abusive or abandoned a bastard(even accidentally) they can even show up as a random encounter looking for vengeance
>Also multiple pet options, maybe horses

Damn I completely forgot about the dog

Retconning of the retcon that special blood or destiny is the only thing that can make a hero

BALVARINE TURDS!!

I agree go back to the roots, setting was much better in the original game

Should it be wacky?

Contextually.
Some goofy sidequests and characters but the main story should be somewhat serious with points of levity, if the player wishes to make a farce of it they can do goofy stuff like dress up like a twat or be called Chicken Chaser.

i want the glowing xp orb drops
i remember playing 2 on the xbox 360
it was comfy even though i never progressed

Yes Fable 4 should be a prequel of William Black as the playable character. The whole concept is already there it just needs to be put into a game. Would be great to see the whole Court of Blades and the Netherworld where Black finds the sword of Aeons and gets a withering magic illness.

Chills

you seem to know alot about fable
is every fable game connected?

Yes it is but poorly

William black was nearly a god before he became scythe the game would not translate well into our hands

its kinda funny how the character on the cover looks like some jrpg protagonist but ingame you look like an inbred brit

Every Fable Game is the descendant of the Protagonist of the first, the third is the child of the Second Game's protagonist.
The Blind Seer is your sister from the first.
There are other little connections like the town names and lore.

I think there was a flash game from before Fable II came out where you played as the Hero of Bowerstone's parent too. IIRC you got items transferred to your character if you completed the game.

Yes every fable protagonist is the descendant of William Black. First Hero to use will and the first Archeon of the Old Kingdom, a sort of Wizard King. He was the one that constructed the Spire and made the first wish to destroy the Old Kingdom.

I hope it stays in a colonial setting like Fable 2 but with the sheer volume of abilities like Fable 1 TLC

Looking to revisit fable. Preferably on PC. Does TLC chapters run well with windows 10? I heard the anniversary collection sucks and I should avoid it, is that still the case?

I know people shit on fable 2 but I had a lot of fun with it

Feel like it needs to be a mixture of 1 and 2. Lots of abilities from 1, jobs and dog companion etc from 2. 3 was very lacklustre I remember, felt like a big step back

Local+online multiplayer with 2+ players, and each player gets to use their custom character. Noneof that Fable 2 bullshit

The leak seems real to me. I hope the co-op doesn't have fucking tethering

No he wasn't by the time the spire was constructed his body was already fucked up from the void disease

it should be an autoscroller with only one button that does everything

game soundtracks were so fucking good before 2010

The last Archon was the one to use the tattered spire for pure power it was not a wish that destroyed the kingdom, the power of the spire caused a tear between the world and the void and that is where the corruption came from, it was three heroes that used all their power to stop the corruption and the resulting explosion was what leveled the world

Every RPG should have a soundtrack as magical as Fable.

I hope 'YOUR HEALTH IS LOW-' will be back

I've personally wanted a more episodic style adventure.
>game opens up on the Guildmaster from Fable 1 telling stories of the Old Kingdom to a bunch of children
>Story 1: The First Hero
This focuses on William Black and how he went from a simple son of a blacksmith to become the first hero, and a master of Will energy. This would involve him defeating the Court and acquiring the legendary sword of aeons.
>Story 2: Fall of the Archons
This would serve as a plot filler, explaining how the Archons (William Black's descendants) went from being the rulers of Albion to their self imposed destruction after the construction of the spire, and how the bloodline would eventually end up secluded on Knothole Island.
>Story 3: Nostro and the Heroes guild
This chapter would focus on the bandit turned hero Nostro, the founding of the Heroes Guild and his eventual downfall.
While these stories are railroaded to follow a particular storyline, completing the canon good route would unlock an alternative evil route, so for part 1, you can play as William Black siding with Jack of Blades.

DLC chapters would include an arena mode featuring Scarlet Robe and the story of Maze's corruption via Jack of Blades.

Attached: your will energy is also low.png (618x517, 43K)

I want horns, halos, w/e aesthetic you get from your alignment to be visible all the time. 3 failed in that regard because you only saw those things during certain attacks, which was gay

The industrial setting of 3 sucked, but a modern or futuristic setting would be dope

I want a game that has almost nothing to do off the previous plots. An adventure in that universe where hero genes are still kinda common so you can have a real guild and competition. The fact that no one you met was worth a shit other than the big bad was boring.

So did the guy you play as in 1 really kill the Guild Master in canon?

Probably not. You have the option to kill him in Fable 1 anyway as part of the evil route, but that involves you eventually siding with Jack of Blades, and if that happens, its very unlikely the events of Fable 2 occur the way they do.

Most likely it was just some reference for an easy laugh.

make it so that you can do anything

>I hope it gets set after three with technology.
I'm on board with this. I want first half of 1900s.

It's the British mark of a game.

>What would you like to see in Fable 4?
Two words.
HARDCORE NUDITY
I'm talking ASS
