It's definitely not perfect, but there's a lot of charm and creativity behind it. It's very much an early 2000s game, with a very distinct gothic atmosphere, and themes of horror that you don't usually see in big story-driven RPGs.

No waypoints or markers to follow around a huge empty map, just a series of distinct environments to explore and get familiar with, and a sense that every character you meet is distinct in their own way. Even the unimportant bit part players that just exist to sell you new guns feel like they have a lot of personality and presence in the setting.

Does Nines really "send" you to fight Lacroix though? Unless you side with him, you have to fight him regardless of whether you side with Anarchs, Independent, or Kue-jin. It's kind of out of the Anarchs hands that Lacroix put a blood hunt out against you. I guarantee Nines would have gone with you if he wasn't extremely bloodied from his fight with the werewolf. The Anarch ending felt a little unfinished though in general.

All of the negatives from the clan curses stem from the antes pissing off caine and nothing else. the antes lived in enoch a place so hedonistic either god, caine or some other force felt it necessary to flood the world to wipe it clean of its taint.

antes waking up is end of the world for their own clan (see ravnos) but not necessarily the world.

there are 5 clans from the original game available on release but there will be more clans added later as free dlc so there is no reason to think we will not get a new clan or two plus gangrel and nosferatu.

I had no trouble with the chink, because she’s just so slow. Just move from one side of the room to the other and keep shooting her. Now the sheriff on the the other hand was a fucking bitch. I’m playing with the patch extras mainly for the cut quests, but holy fuck some things were cut for a reason. The bat attack he does every 10 seconds is unavoidable and does like 50% of your health which means that he can kill you with just a single “nothing personnel” attack. Good thing his pattern is pretty predictable. Also his scream attack that slows you for a minute is stupid too.

I hated the idea too at first but seeing how you pick your clan later i like it a lot now. basically we will be able to pick one of three thin blood disciplines to start out with and that will carry on over as our third discipline when we enter a clan.

this will be awesome because it will give us multiple ways to play a clan as opposed to just one.

people who complain about ming xiao are shitters who also never did the alternate ending where you fight the sheriff. like you said the sheriff is WAY harder and he has two different forms. Also if you arent gun specced or out of ammo you are absolutely fucked because first form he can kill you in two hits so you have to use range attacks and second form hes flying all over the place so if you are a protean gangrel like i was you are fucked or have to find another way (i luckily had a shit ton of guns and ammo i never used and burrowing beetle)
