What’s your favorite Ace Attorney case? 1-4 is the GOAT

By far 3-4, the way it tied up the trilogy was amazing, also fucking Godot.
Currently playing through Investigation 2. What the fuck were they thinking with case 3?? That shit dragged on for eternity

3-5 is the hypest I've ever been in a vidya, fucking love that case. Still gonna have to throw a shoutout to 3-2 as a great filler case, its just pure fun all around.

Otherwise 1-4 is still outstanding, most games completely nail their final cases. AJ was kind of weak in that regard tho desu

3-5 for me

Idk about favorite but 2-2 was super disappointing. The whole twist with Ini Miney (super cutie) was great but it just sort of abruptly ends, you don’t have to prove motive for Morgan Fey.

What was the Phantom's true identity?

>ctrl+f
>not 2-4

are you fucking serious?

seconding this. 1-4 is a bit too easy imo

Rise From the Ashes. It's a long one but damn is the payoff worth it.

Just finished PW6 after being a bit disappointed with PW5. Now I want more.

>TURNABOUT SUCCESSION
>SHIT TIER
NO

>Turnabout Trump
Everything in Apollo was fucking awful, I don't even remember what this was about

>inherited turnabout

Shit list.
Also this

>Magic Turnabout
Shit was tedious enough to rank lower

wrong

and its when kristoph bludgeoned trucy's dad's head with a wine bottle

I agree mate. 1-4 is the GOAT but 3-5 comes close. 2-4 is a solid third place for me, great case but a little overrated.

I just beat the first game in the series, are the other games just as stupid?

Literally don't remember that, that's how little I enjoy Apollo

The first game is like non-fiction compared to the later games

I'm not sure I follow.

I’m currently on 3-3 but my favorite was probably 1-4 or 2-4. Does Franziska or Edgeworth ever show up in the 3rd game? I miss them.

The first game is relatively tame compared to the later games in how absurd it gets

Get out now

franziska makes a cameo appearance on a milk carton

2-4 is the perfect storm for me, fairly simple case, but a complete character study of three new characters and multiple old ones, played out completely against each other. I feel like Takumi is always the superior character writer but the worse case writer, and 2-4 plays super well to his strengths.

>shit tier
>big top

I’m sick of this meme.

Attached: CC860C93-16B4-427A-A350-B4D17A69D1D7.gif (256x192, 30K)

Stupid in what sense? If you mean in the sense of weird characters and crazy case setups, the first game is incredibly tame compared to the rest.

Attached: betty.gif (256x192, 1.53M)

damn it

If you didn’t like the first game, I’d probably just quit

It's not a meme, the case is very bad.

What? That’s fucking lame. She was hot

I'm fine with crazy cases and I found most of the characters enjoyable, I just don't like all the asspulls after making me actually try and figure things out. I also hate how often you have like 5 different items to prove a point in something but the game wants one specific item from the list, it's painful how much the characters lag behind on the case trying to figure out obvious shit.

Why didn’t you like it?

/k/ fags
try to make sense of the shit you see in the OP's pic

I should also add that the entire game is a big plot hole, why does the judge and the prosecution demand I figure out who the real killer is when it's literally not my job?

>I'm a brainlet, so game BAD
Kek.
Turnabout Trump is fucking amazinf. My favorite by far.

1-2 was pure kino. It had a fun investigation that no other investigation in the main series tops, great dialogue, and a satisfying trial. The only problem is having to have Mia save you at the end, but otherwise more filler cases should be like that.
I have the same opinion of 4-2.

Attached: 1559674718844.jpg (240x280, 40K)

Extremely nonsensical and illogical murder method, even for this series, villain that only gets introduced the second day and you're supposed to feel sympathy for but the writing never lands properly, the entire fucking first day spent on Max and Ben wanting to be pedos, Regina, Acro, and Ben/Trilo. Every time I replay the series I think "it can't really have been THAT bad, can it?" and every time, it is THAT bad.

Okay, that's actually a thing that gets way better in later games. AA1 noticeably has the most iffy gameplay in points.

Attached: 1446519213695.gif (293x231, 695K)

6-3 is probably one of the few mid-game cases that I'd consider better than some late-game cases. Shit made me cry like a bitch when the red magatama was brought out.

Armie is so FUCKING cute

>4-2
>fun investigation
No way dude, that case has one of the worst investigations in the entire series. The case itself only gets good day 2, too.

well I did buy the collection so if I feel like continuing I do have access to it, we'll see, it's definitely a series I want to like, but sometimes it feels like it tries to piss me off for no reason.

That part you just need to get over - technically they frame it as you ending up at the killer to free your client, but this is in essence a detective game series, except you're a lawyer.

I have to admit, my like for 4-2 is mostly from the first day of investigation. It's pretty fun investigating three separate leads and trying to find out how they connected (because of course they do, it's ace attorney).

Did you like the cases themselves, though? Like, the mystery, and the characters? If so, you're fine. The way they handle evidence and investigation is the one thing the first game doesn't get quite right.

its so fucking overrated.

Really? Huh. I always thought that was a fun premise, but then the game blocks your path at a whole bunch of junctions for absolutely no reason (literally: you can't investigate the area around the cart for a full day because Apollo basically just doesn't feel like it), and the entire first day investigating and court ends up being spent mostly with le epic panty thief xD. Granted, I can see people like that day if they find that shit funny, but it mostly made me really bored.

Patrician, Armie is adorable

I’m playing through the series right now, I’m halfway through big top and all the cases in Justice For All have sucked compared to Ace Attorney. 2-2 was maybe close to 1-3 but that’s it. I miss Edgeworth

I suppose, I like to solve mysteries but it's so weird that this element never seems to get addressed in the cases.
I do like the cases to an extent, and definitely the characters, not such a big fan of the actual investigation point & click segments, but if they're improved in the sequels then that's obviously good

I think I'm the only person in the world that likes 2-1

He'll be back.

You'll grow to like Franziska, too.

1-4, 1-5, and 3-5 are, in my opinion the top-tier cases in the series.

2-4 is just a hair close, but misses because pic related.

Attached: oldbag.gif (256x192, 14K)

It's kind of weird that people seem to actively hate it, but maybe that's a result of obsessively ranking everything.

It's a pretty innocuous case that doesn't make a whole lot of sense but is perfectly fine. It's also really short.

Attached: extraterritorial.png (125x125, 7K)

>final case of an Ace Attorney game
>"It's connected to THAT case... the one from x years ago..."

Attached: 1519257911563.jpg (640x628, 40K)

I liked that case but the tutorial cases just never leave much of an impression on me. My favorite was probably 3-1

1-5 is a garbage case

Attached: 58C98A37-02A2-436B-990F-EA5BD525DB70.jpg (359x347, 66K)

That’s a garbage opinion. It’s a tad bit long but it’s one of the best cases in the series.

>muh evidence law

2-1 was a fun beginner case but the phone switcheroo had no clues, how was I supposed to figure that out without guessing
Franziska is hot but damn is the whipping irritating when I want to get on with the case

rude and bad opinion

AAI2's is really fun

Attached: horace knightley.png (420x427, 154K)

1-5 is the most solid start to finish case the franchise has ever one. Without being tied to a greater overarching plot it was simply able to tell a single really good story. The stakes are still high but largely personal and the characters are among the series most memorable.

I missed Maya but 1-5 was fantastic

Attached: C9E71C86-E171-4140-8706-36D7922497A9.gif (256x192, 108K)

What was wrong with that?..

And plus Ema is cute af

No Maya made 1-5 better. Actual science and evidence procedure in my fucking lawyer game

They shouldn’t have shoehorned Edgeworth into it imho

But the case doesn't work without him.

Then rework the case, his disappearance in JFA just seemed awkward after 1-5, it works better going right from 1-4

I don't really know why it gets so much hate, it's a pretty inoffensive and short tutorial case. It's not as novel as later tutorial cases are sure but it does its job. 2-2 is a great case, 2-3 sucks with only the Apollo Justice mid-game cases going lower, and 2-4 is absolutely fucking god tier and has yet to be surpassed. But JFA is somehow remembered as a super shitty game because Big Top is beyond ass.

Ema contributed literally nothing. I hated the deus ex machina spirit stuff with Maya but at least she has some personality. plus maya and Phoenix are the otp

It would've been really cool to have Lana... prosecute herself.

I assumed that was going to be the case when I first played it.

The story loses a lot of its emotional weight without Edgeworth's involvement. It's his personal equivalent of 2-4. His scenes make the case as great as it was

Ema>Maya
IrisXPhoenix

But that's completely retarded.

Yeah, same. I really would've liked to see her in court at some point. As is she doesn't really have enough personality.

oh no, something retarded in Ace Attorney.

1-5 actively brings the first game down, while I like that it exists as a form of bonus case for the remake they tried way too hard to pad it out and make it some extremely epic and "difficult" case when the game already had the perfect finale in 1-4. The approach (much) later DLC cases took was better in that regard, though 6-DLC was brought down by pandering way too hard.

I mean, she admits herself right at the start already. It wouldn't have been an actual stretch.

I mean more than normal. Having Lana prosecute would've sucked

We've only really ever had two actual bonus cases, 1-5 and 6-DLC. 5-DLC was cut from the main game (it was the third case, and the 4th and 5th were one case), to sell because Capcom is jewish af.

Where did these terrible opinions come from? Is there some new YouTube video I don't know that people are mindlessly parroting?

With 1-5 AA1 is the best of the original trilogy. Without it, it's the worst

But then you would never have a chance to win with Gant blackmailing her. The only reason Phoenix had a chance to win the case was because of Edgeworth deliberately rejecting her guilty plea because of his anger about having been lied to two years ago.

I've held that opinion since the game first came westward. I've never liked 1-5 and it felt dreadfully out of place even before I knew why that was the case.

Meanwhile I went through the original trilogy baffled that none of the later cases were quite as good.

6-2 has become my new favorite. It's just a damn fun case with nice interactions with the characters, with a villain who literally would've gotten away with everything if it wasn't for that one mistake that was made by someone else.

Attached: Mysterious.png (414x600, 315K)

Meanwhile he simply could have done it TV show about all the actual bad shit the Gramaryes did but I guess that would have been too logical.

>Gramaryes
>logical

I’m convinced that the trilogy on switch is the reason my A button is so worn out and why I’ll probably have to buy another controller soon

I have a huge love for 2-2 mostly because I really like closed-room murders, but it has tons of problems, really.
>fingerprints on gun never addressed
>burnt marks on cloth
>morgan not even getting one final dialogue with phoenix or returning to court
I mean, I suppose my final point gets redeemed by 3-5, but still. What's up in general with abrupt endings to cases?

How many coats he wearing

I just started 2-1 and it's very impressive how the victim managed to eloquently write the suspects name on the ground with his neck snapped, too bad the judge thinks I'm retarded for trying to point this out.

3-5 is my favorite because each investigation segment was unique and interesting as opposed to most cases and the trials were amazing. Who doesn't love Phoenix and Franz being cute together?

Do you guys like the anime? I’m episode 5 and it’s kinda meh for me.

There’s not really any point if you have the games imo

>Ignored the series for years thinking it was boring
>Random youtube video grabs my attention and I impulse buy the trilogy
>On 1-5 now and having a blast
The only part I've gotten truly stumped on so far is near the end of the samurai case where it turned out I was retarded and didn't pay attention to the names properly. The fucking asspulls you do in 1-4 were incredible.

Attached: 1552347880488.gif (400x304, 1.95M)

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. It’s just literally the same thing

As opposed to THAT case from the future?

Golden Court obviously

Where can I find the best ace attorney lewds

Bump

There aren’t any
DL-6........................

Bullshit I’ve seen some good ones here
