there were no good games in 2019

what a shitty time for video games.

remember getting expansion sets on disks and they were in those giant card board boxes
remember when they were actually full games
remember gaming before dlc, lootboxes and $29.99 for a map or a weapon skin

take me back bro

Damn, I still like to play L4D2 from time to time.

I wish I could play L4D2 again, but my friends stopped playing it ages ago or lost contact with them

Already a Boomer so something only 10 years old doesn't make me feel any older.

Unless you were underage in 2009, this shouldn't make you feel anything.

Fine really, I was 11 in 2009

feels like time is working as intended

>demons souls is now a decade old
>and soon dark souls will be too
fuck..

fucking underagefags

I wasn't born in 2009 like the majority of this board so I don't care

2009 was a nice year for gaming!

>it's another thread full of 20 somethings pretending they are oldfags

Damn, I need a time machine.

>There are adults on this website right now whose first exposure to gaming in their life was Skyrim.

Nostalgic for a time before i swallowed the blackpill.

take the cyanide pill you worthless pile of shit

Zoomer

By 2009, 2003 culturally felt very dated and like it was a million years ago.

But in 2019, 2009 doesn't feel all that different from now except less SJW shit. You already had smartphones, social media, HD, etc. getting popular by 2009, and the Zoomer kid culture had begun.

Will zoomers feel the same way about modern garbage like Automata or MGS5 20 years from now?

So much has changed for the worse... AAA games were often enough good, B games were numerous( we are getting back to that, thanks to Steam) and games were made for Gamers™.

Most people already had something like a "smartphone-lite"with similar features but I don't think they were truly popularized until following year or two.

This. The real Smartphone avalanche came down between 2010 and 2012.

2009 we were deep in the middle of the big decline of video games that started around 2005. I have zero nostalgia for these games/this period.

Well now Early Zoomers are posting nostalgia for the late 00s-early 10s on social media, when it used to be considered the downfall into shit era.

I am vomit

DS, Wii, Pinguin Club were pretty bomb though
Also Minecraft is like digital Lego and Angry Birds was fine as a casual game.
All the disney stuff and animation was shit.

1942 and mw2 are the only good games on that list

All those look shit except for the batman one

seems about right

So this is where it all started going to shit.

>tfw can't find my 200 page manual for heroes 3 anymore

i feel like minecraft is out of place in this image

Bad, but not that bad. Arkham Asylum does feel like 10 years ago.
I usually feel worse.

I barely had a PS3 in 2009, and was in middle school. I do miss how comfy it was back then though.

>he didn't have a blast playing Skate 2 with friends

Yeah, people who owned the first few iPhones were a LOT more rare. My teacher carried one on her hip and kids in my class were impressed/thought she was rich.

Same. Waiting for L4D3 to hopefully live some of that fun again. Probably the most fun I've had online.

I'm a poor third worlder. I remember getting a PS2, and rejoicing with my friends that we were playing FF12 in the same year the game was released. It's been 13 years now.

"The healthy human mind..."

>oh, fuck, he's about to start monologueing again

all those covers and there's half a good game among them
