I'm spending the whole night modding, my past self was clever and put all my mod downloads into a folder I backed up. Even after reinstalling windows I can just put them all into mod organizer. They're all from 2016 so there might be some old versions in there but I'm happy with how my game was.

That's always the worst feel, when you want to replay NV but you don't have your previous file directory, and then you have to worry about all the autism of figuring out what mods you want, downloading them, figuring out the correct order, and then dealing with a fuckton of random bugs from mod interactions not playing nice until you finally get the damn thing stable enough.

Thank god for mod organizer though. This shit was an absolute nightmare back before that.

My courier doesn't look anywhere near as good really so I switched over to the Marie Race mod. Back to the shojo mod, the textures on the face look slightly off, the eyebrows aren't nearly as detailed as the ones shown in preview images on mod sites and the eyes look slightly off as well and it ends making her face look exceptionally soulless. Hair and headgear don't work either so I'm stuck with the rather bland choice of hairs included in the mod.

The Japs are amazing at making good looking shojos however, I have no clue how they do it.

This was goddamn annoying. There should've been a better balance in terms of locations/quests for the various factions. Hell, even the towns that are nominally independent still need to be treated as hostile territory because there will be one or two NCR vets living there or something.

Makes it so the only way to do a legion playthrough is to first do a bunch of NCR quests and either sabotage them if possible or purposefully fail them, and then do the meager number of Legion-specific quests. And it's a huge shame we didn't get to see any actual legion territory beyond Caesar's camp. They should've at least given us a DLC set in arizona in legion controlled turf so we could see what everyday life is like over there.

Yet again, you only lose out on doing NCR quests when you make them permanently hostile by failing Don't Tread On The Bear and being branded a terrorist

There's more to it than that though. Even if I'm doing a playthrough where I'm not going to be a terrorist to the NCR, there's still the issue of like 90% of the quests being for the NCR. What if I'm playing a character that doesn't want to aid those faggots? lol too bad, you just have to skip the majority of the content.

That's interesting to hear, but I'm not going to hold my breath. For whatever reason, NV has always been absolutely lackluster when it comes to getting quest/newland mods compared to other games like skyrim. Not sure why, but it's a shame. Only halfway decent things out there are the ones by Someguy, and even those are only good relatively speaking. The mods Skyrim gets blows those out of the water.

I try to keep it simple with stuff like that, but it all really depends on what you want. For example, I ended up installing a bunch of small mods that did various tweaks to crafting/melee/throwing weapons and other stuff like that because I wanted to play as a tribal spearchucker.

Only loli mods I know of for NV are COTW, Shoujo Race and sort of Marie Race. You can still find most of them on Nexus or r/modpiracy

This happens so commonly as a result of the shitty combat mechanics (and lazy programming in general) of Bethesda's engine/games/scripting/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. Combat in Bethesda games is extremely unsatisfying, whether it's hacking people with axes in skyrim or getting into a true gunfight in FO3/NV. Naturally people gravitate more toward stealth builds, simply because stealth removes a large part of the mediocre combat out of the equation when you can sit back and hit the slow/still target for massive damage. Hell of a lot better than actually trying to do something like actively shooting hostile targets as their models awkwardly and erratically zigzag across the stage making it impossible to actually hit them without relying on VATS.

Lonesome Road was dogshit. Ulysses story wasn't compelling, and even with the plot aside, the gameplay is literally CoD linear corridor shooting and nothing else. Combat is the weakest aspect of this game where its the RPG elements shine, and yet LR is a DLC that's 100% combat with no RPG elements to speak of. It's the complete opposite of what a good DLC should be.

And it's a real shame. When I first walked through the gate to the divide, I expected a compelling narrative that would include small holdouts of marked men who were still sane that would serve as NPCs with dialogue and side quests. Didn't realize "lonesome road" was to be taken 200% literally as a linear path with no NPCs until Ulysses.
And I'm still mad we got that tripe rather than a DLC set in the legion.

It's better optimized than FO3 and Skyrim LE.
FNV can run at 60fps using an ENB and 2K/4K textures mods without struggles or memory issues.
