I dunno how to describe it so I'll just post an example

The leviathan fight in FFXIV had that same effect and the song just chanted "Leviathan" at you.
It was better for Alexander.

Yo what the fuck
I was expecting some typical choir shit but then suddenly "SONIC BOOM"
I like that, I like that a lot.
Here's another example, I reckon.

IIRC that's called vocals as instruments and I like that a lot too
>lyrics kick in during final boss' ultimate form
>Any music that escalates as the fight goes on
>Any boss that gets more and more frantic as the battle comes to a close
The compression of the International version of Nocturne's OST adds alot of flavor

Heavy vocal sampling. I love Hideki Naganuma for this.

When the soundtrack is actively synced with the gameplay. Metal Gear Rising and Nier Automata are both amazing examples for this
>reoccurring villain in a franchise has multiple leitmotifs and melodies associated with him
>final encounter with said villain and a climatic track incorporating all of his leitmotifs throughout the series plays
Any audio dudes monitoring? Is there a term for this kind of stuff? How do you even get audio real dirty sounding like that? Lower the bitrate and simulate a shitty amplifier?
What kind of stuff? distortion?
What OP was talking about. Just the lyrics in
>the final boss music is a remix of the main theme
>Incorporates leitmotifs from present and over 22 years ago
youtube.com
Didn't Final Fantasy X have this going on too? What was the flamboyant baddie's name? You fought him like seven times and I feel like the music was different each time but still had a similar melody.
>the name of the final boss theme spoils a party member's betrayal
>get recommended video game music on youtube
GAME YOU'RE CURRENTLY PLAYING - Name of a bro-tier character (FINAL BOSS THEME)
I believe that would be an overdrive effect on the voice. It usually exists in audio programs or plug ins. Or you can do it with a distortion box like this
Not video game music but fuck it
This shit right here made my dick so hard it could have been used as a deadly blunt weapon

Remixing an extremely familiar, classic score into something new, while keeping the original's brilliance is the best fucking shit in the world. I cannot really give an example for this from video games.
LEITMOTIFS
Seymour had one fight song
I want to click that link so bad but I haven't seen the movie
Good choice. The final battle was probably the best one in the entire franchise.
>Turn the tables on a boss
>Music retains its melody but changes to a heroic tone
So is the movie good over all?
>So is the movie good over all?
No idea, I an going to see it tomorrow
>music is suddenly extremely active, following the speed you're traveling at perfectly
youtube.com
>Look up Seymour music
>Not nearly as good as I remember it being
Huh. How things change.
>Music track references a past game from the franchise
>It uses the past game's sound font
If you are a Godzilla fan, you will fucking love it.
If not, you'll either love it or hate it.
>final boss theme incorporates motifs from 10+ different songs heard throughout the game
Is Godzilla actually in it this time? Last time around he only showed up for a guest appearance in the last five minutes of the movie.
Without any spoilers, Godzilla is literally shown in the very first minute. After that, the entire kaiju cast has about ~35% of the movie, Godzilla is in 6 scenes and 3 major battles, and the final battle is about 3 times as long as the 2014 one.
Sounds a little better. Thanks.
Something like this?

I love this track so much
>Final boss is a creation manifested from data based on the main character
>The battle theme is a motif of the game's overall triumph music

Risk of Rain 1 does this. I already loved the music, but once I heard the composer's commentary I found a new love for the time and effort that went into composing the score.
>Omega is casting Hello World
>Time and Space begin to crumble, their laws forsaken!
