CoD4 used its violence and shock relatively sparingly to make sure they had impact and then MW2 and MW3 just threw out shocking violent scenes constantly instead of trying to tell a story, so I'm completely unshocked to learn that Infinity Ward is just going to keep doing that in their next shitty game.

They offer the ability to skip the level entirely for "graphic violence", but leave it in tact so people can flip their shit, the mainstream news will talk about how violent and terrible it is, people's curiosity will be piqued, and they'll jump on the game. That's literally what happened with mw2. It would have been what happened with mw1 but no one really knew about the nuke untila couple days before release.
