Why can't we ever have a comfy speculation/most wanted character thread? Why are these threads always so full of mindless aggression? Every time, all you see is "lol your character is retarded", "lol wojak", "BTFO". Doesn't it get tiresome?
Even Pokémon and Megami Tensei threads get a break fom time to time, why can't Smashfags do the same?

Yea Forums has trended more towards aggression and factionism with every year, with every platform generation.
The ballot made everyone insane. It used to be people would just take whatever off-hand comment Sakurai made and turn it into gospel, but now you have something that would seemingly validate popularity across the internet.
Of course, people took the wrong idea from the ballot. It's not a democratic system, the character with the most votes doesn't get in just because, it's a popularity contest that ultimately just becomes a suggestion box come time to make a roster.
