Why the Trypophobiadesign?

Is $6000 really that much? I feel like that’s pretty standard for Apple’s overpriced Mac Pro product line that nobody every buys. So why is it just now getting a lot of attention? Kids who are just now encountering the Mac Pro product line?

I though it was the cheese thing kek

What is this cheese grater apparatus

The monitor stand (does not include monitor) is $1000.

>graffix card port is proprietary so you're forced to use their overpriced cards if you want to upgrade
How is this even legal anymore jfc

looks like a dust magnet

Oh, nvm then, they’re reaching levels of jewish I didn’t even know was possible.

Yes yo could build a 7nm 64c epyc for that
6k is for the base 8core system lmao

Wait, is thar a computer? Looks like a cheese grater.

Looks like a fucking cheese grater.

that's not true

It's designed purely for ignorant enterprise bureaucrats that don't buy things based on cost-benefit but rather what can fit in their assigned budget.

>$5,999+$999 monitor stand plus tax and tip

Baesd

What am I even looking at? Is that two plates with holes overlapped on top of each other?

Here you go

imagine trying to clean that shit after a few months.

The memes quite literally write themselves.

OK then, but are those holes for cooling or is there a plastic plate below them?

Oh come on...

You forgot the $3,999 monitor to go with your stand.

I still can't tell if it's an aesthetic choice or their cooling solution is so trash that they need as much airflow as possible.

These people don't understand computers right?

Well there are also always going to be people triggered by Apple products no matter what. Frankly both of you are faggots. The people comparing this to some random gaming system are retards. The people defending this versus comparisons to other actual Xeon workstation builds are ALSO retards. It looks like a genuinely nice workstation, but at about a $1500 premium. It's not Yea Forums related though, and none of you dumb poor faggots can even identify most of the actual issues with it.

it's so grating

>everything in this image is proprietary

>apple

you're paying $6000 for a entry level xeon, 32gb of ram, a 256gb SSD, and a RX 580.

>implying
They probably won't. Both rabid Apple haters and rabid fans often act like people don't consider value with Apple products, but they do. That's why the TrashcanMac bombed. It didn't sell, it never got updated again, because it was fundamentally an awful form over function design in a way that other Macs weren't.

ayyyyy lmao

>Is $6000 really that much?
For a dual socket Xeon system no. For a single socket yes, a Xeon-W with those specs from an OEM should start around $4000-4500 normally. Intel really rapes with their Xeon SP family but Ws are mildly better.

>I feel like that’s pretty standard for Apple’s overpriced Mac Pro
It's not. Even adjusted for inflation it's a vastly higher base price then in the past. At one point in fact MPs (like back in 2006 through 2008) were extremely competitively priced. The 09 and 10 weren't awful either though Apple was slipping. It really is high.

>Kids who are just now encountering the Mac Pro product line?
Probably? It's been 9 years since the last real system after all. NINE YEARS.

>>graffix card port is proprietary so you're forced to use their overpriced cards if you want to upgrade
It's not though you fucking retard, it's just normal PCIe. It uses normal AMD cards.

That apple are turbofaggots about Nvidia is an entirely different issue. But they've abandoned the retardation of the trashcan.

why did they choose a intel cpu? aren't those insecure and shit now with those exploit patches? why not wait for ryzen 3?

Please understand hole technology is expensive as fuck.

>that will be $5999 + $999 TIP

Attached: --10.jpg (1000x1000, 128K)

user, you forgot that if you don't want to buy the stand, you need to buy the $199 monitor to stand adapter.
Really.

I love how this is being memed to the ground

>he says, as they use AMD GPUs in the 6,000$ workbench tower.

and they're not even using a high end AMD GPU, they're using a fucking RX 580

>why did they choose a intel cpu?
Some sort of sweet heart deal maybe. Apple had that with Intel at one point.

Alternatively just laziness. It's easier on a supply chain to keep everything the same, whether it's good for customers or not. As we saw with Windows AMD's more extreme NUMA arch with their chiplets also requires work on the OS scheduler to take full advantage of. Linux rapidly did far better on Ryzen and EPYC then Windows did, though I think that's now been patched? It'd have been more OS work though and Macs aren't a big focus for them anymore.

Plus they will have locked in this design a year or two ago, it's not like they made the system yesterday. And it's still not like Rome is out yet. Maybe they just didn't think back in 2017 AMD would be doing as well as they are, plenty of others didn't either.

Apple is not superior American technology

>manly tears start a cooking channel.jpg

MKBHD said he thinks the full stocked model is probably more like 40K lol

Right, their little kiddie tantrum with nvidia still persisting is mind blowing.

That I have sympathy for though with a base price machine. I want PCIe slots and then to be able to pick my own card, every single OEM does it like this, the default card is something super minimal. Some people just want CPU/memory/storage after all, though less these days. You BTO from there.

It's that there is no 2S, and no Nvidia and thus CUDA that's the problem not that the base config is minimal (well, it's over priced for that).

Attached: old time gutsman.png (480x360, 62K)

supposedly that is ending soon. The A-Macs will run on ARM in a few years.

Which oh boy, will that ever be fun! I still fucking remember the annoyance of losing all my software when the powerpc -> x86 swap happened

They are though when it comes to mobile which is where most of their revenue is from by far. They have the best chips, the best support, and the best security. They used to have the best or at least top performing cameras too, though Huawei seems to blow them away now (and everyone else).

so the hardware in total costs about $1000ish dollars. Where is the $4000 cost coming from? Just paying for the rights to use Mac OS?
