Capcom, Sega and the others didn't say anthing about Ultimate until their characters were revealed. Even Shantae and Shovel Knight's companies never said anything.
Meanwhile you have a lot of Microsoft employees (all checked) who kept mentioning Master Chief, Banjo, Steve, Battletoads and even Fora for Smash, directly, without having their comments deleted.
If anything, that clearly implies no Microsoft collaboration for the DLC.

First instinct is a remaster like N. Sane or Reignited, since most of big business is just a case of monkey-see, monkey-do. But Rare Replay is still relatively fresh, the first two games are already available on Gamepass and a remaster of only two games compared to Crash and Spyro's three would probably be seen as underwhelming. So I'm leaning more towards a teaser for Threeie like how Battletoads got one last E3, hell maybe some early game-play footage to reassure fans that it won't be a bait and switch like N&B this time.

where do people get this idea? steve isn't a character. there is no story or character to minecraft. Steve is a default skin that is intended to be switched off of. Steve wasn't in minecraft story mode, and isn't going to be in minecraft movie. the default girl model gets shown up more now as well in minecraft's promotional stuff.
