People a decade ago didn't realise how self-destructive the "lmao Yea Forums hates video games" thing would be. In the end it inevitably morphed into a board full of people who think this is just how we're meant to act.
Arguing about consoles is one thing but back then nobody complained about the very act of watching E3, at least not without genuine criticism. Now our "culture" is just demonizing any kind of visible enjoyment. Every fucking meme from here in the past three years has centred around the concept of ridiculing people for enjoying things visibly.
The problem is no matter how many times this is said, it will be drowned out by the sheer number of people who don't care and are being semi-ironic about it.

E3s stopped being notably embarassing in the early 10s. The age of embarrassing E3s is long over after Konami royally fucked up and everyone else got their shit together because of it. Now the most embarrassing thing is a joke falling flat at Ubis conference or something.
